I feel like Steve Harrington would make the best house husband. It would take a little convincing since he was raised to think men were the bread winners and had to work but once he let that go Steve would THRIVE. Whether it’s with executive business wife Nancy, or epic rockstar husband Eddie or anyone else their house would be immaculate, kids always having the best food, friends always feel safe and welcome to come over, all sports and after school activities perfectly juggled and supported. Every holiday at their house with the biggest spread and Steve happy and glowing in his little kingdom surrounded by love.

Things I notice the second time watching Encanto:

1. Does abuela accuse Mirabel of being drunk when she announces the cracks at the party but then they’re gone when everyone else checks? “The magic is strong, and so are the drink!”

2. At the breakfast table does abuela pull the white flower that pops up in Isabelas hair because it doesn’t match the pink so isn’t “perfect”

3. In Luisa’s song there’s a pattern on the background right after the “Drip drip drip” part my eyes only caught the gold the first time so I didn’t notice the pattern was actually little Luisa’s holding weights.

4. Also Luisa’s song. When she punches the iceberg and skids on the ice with Mirabel it reminds me of Frozen 2 and makes me see the similarities between Luisa and Elsa.

5. Also also in Luisa’s song I first thought that when they fell into the machine it was grinding some fruits but after that I learned that coffee beans are that color when they’re first picked which I think is a nice homage to Colombia.

6. What if Bruno’s tower added more and more stairs and obstacles for people to come to the vision cave because that’s how much Bruno didn’t want to be approached by people who will then be angry at him. And it was still like that when Mirabel went in because that’s how depressed he was the last time he was in their?

7. Felix and Agustin are kings.

8. Everyone always connects Mirabels glasses to Bruno’s green cloak but Agustin also has green glasses and he joined the sibling hug during Bruno singing so what if Bruno and Agustin were really close friends before Bruno left.

9. The scene where Mirabel is sad and covered in soot is so visually beautiful like a painting.

10. Where TF did Bruno get a horse we have only seen donkeys in this entire town.

Encanto Thoughts:

After Bruno returns he has a hard time dealing with people so when it gets too much he goes back into the walls for short periods of time but Mirabel always knows where he is (with or without casitas help). She doesn’t try to talk to him but she’ll just softly knock on the wall nearby in a pattern to say that she’s there if he needs her and she’ll wait for his response. Even if it takes a while Bruno will knock back letting her know he’s ok and will be out soon.

OR

She’ll go to the area he’s in but will be talking loudly to one of his rats so that Bruno can hear but doesn’t have to be addressed directly and she can talk about casual things Bruno might like or about what dinners going to be or how the visitors are leaving soon. That way he can have some time to calm down but not feel alone again.

Either way the others catch on. They start to take turns and Bruno knows he’s loved.

What if Dolores asked Bruno about her future first and after telling her “the man of her dreams would be just out of reach and betrothed to another” and seeing how heartbroken she was that when young Isabela showed up on his steps he just put on a show and told her “your life is going to be perfect and your power will be very strong!” So she wouldn’t be sad too?

Young Luisa and Isabela stepping up for their family and community to always be stronger and more perfect so that nobody would have to worry after Mirabel didn’t get a gift and Mirabel wouldn’t have anything negative come back to her with her two sisters taking the spotlight which added to their anxiety and resentment we see in the movie. They just wanted to protect their baby sister but it eventually got out of hand.

This is so adorable:

1) those two guys don’t know each other at all, they both stopped independently when they saw the kitten

2) they both come to the conclusion that it was abandoned, and seem really distraught and concerned as to how it ended up there

3) the biker says he’d take the kitten home himself, but he’s allergic, so the pink and grey shirt guy agrees to look after it instead
