I love Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's the perfect movie. The effects are amazing. The effects look like shit. The color grading has two settings and they both look horrible. There are dozens of sets, and each one is the same sound stage. I love the costuming, it looks like they raided a 2002 hot topic and a Spencers. The characters are amazing, 95% of them are assholes. It's aged horribly, it's timeless. It's a tragedy and the funniest shit I've ever seen. It's a mess, it's a masterpiece. Nathan is insane, and he's my best friend.

It's my favorite movie. Don't watch it.

oc advice: don’t make your oc flashy looking or give them a tragic backstory or a weird name or

berserk: our protag is 6’8. he is so fucking huge he doesn’t fit in a panel unless the panel is focused on him. his entire life is just a massive series of unfortunate events starting from the day of his birth when he was born from a corpse hanging from a tree . he has a sword that is the same size as him and wears all black evil cursed hellhound themed armour that drinks his blood. he has an onscreen kill count of over 1000. literally everyone wants to fuck him. the first panel of berserk is a sex scene with his bootyass out. one of the main antagonists ruined everything partially because he was so horny for him. he is called guts. fuck yeah

getting teary eyed thinking about gerda gottlieb's paintings of her wife after she transitioned

thing is, for a lot of these paintings it wasn’t “after” lily elbe’s transition. there was no after to it. the one op posted was painted in 1928. this was 2 years before lily legally changed her name and began undergoing revolutionary gender affirming procedures. unfortunately she died due to complications of an experimental uterine transplant in 1931.

up until that point, during the day lily continued to dress in masculine clothing and even attended galleries showing gottlieb’s paintings of her. which was kind of iconic. she got to stand in a room full of people who were marveling her beauty, not knowing she was right next to them. it must have been such a cute little secret for them as a couple.

not to mention that for most people there is no real “after” to a transition. especially for these trans historical figures who had to balance identity and safety at all times.

i think having a wife paint these portraits must have felt really amazing for lily. to be able to see herself through the eyes of someone who loved her. i’m very much seconding op on the getting teary eyed.

AITA for trying to save my brother’s soul from hell?

I (~470M) lost my brother (25M) in a tragic witch related accident many years ago. Before his death he sadly began to stray from the path of righteousness, betraying me and the values we held dear. Because I didn’t want his corpse to languish forever in the unhallowed earth of this demonic realm, I stole his body. In an effort to help him I’ve used his bones to restore him to life several times (22M, 18M, 18M, 24M, 17M, 20M, 13M, 7M, 23M, 18M, 19M, 24M, 23M, +assorted early failures) but each time he rejects my efforts, scorns my hard work, and falls once more into selfish rebellion. I begin to suspect the corrupting effect of witchcraft, as despite my best efforts all his reincarnations are housed in tainted, imperfect vessels of sorcery. Still, I’m determined not to give up, and my latest attempt (15M) is promising, a very obedient thing. Yet I’m perturbed by what his predecessor said before I was forced to terminate the effort and start again; he called me a “delusional, sadistic asshole”. Am I the asshole for attempting to help my brother despite his tantrums?
