Reading/Watching/Playing list (and therefore (some) recommendations!)

This will include Anime, Mangas, Mangwhas, Manhuas, light novels, books and games (probably others at some point too) to keep all of my thoughts on them together in a convenient place instead of ten billion different chats. I’ve consumed far too much media so it might take a while of me cycling before this is fully encompassing, but 🤞 I will keep this up to date.

[THIS IS ALL INSANELY SUBJECTIVE, PLEASE DO NOT MURDER ME FOR MY OPINIONS IF YOU FIND THIS POST]

📖 Light novels (this is easy because I haven’t read that many, since I started not too long ago and I love slow burns):

- Lord of the mysteries: sosososo good, Klein 🤤 steampunk, fantasy, (kinda) horror oh and some mystery too (duh). Also a long series.

- Regressors Tale of Cultivation: cultivation story with a time loop, executed well and pretty fun

- Reverend Insanity: probably my favourite piece of media ever right now, embarrassingly enough has changed my worldview slightly, hard to completely recommend though as it’s quite problematic. If you do want to read it, just be warned that the mc is evil, like irredeemably so. Oh and it’s like insanely (heh) long.

📖 Books (my memory kinda sucks here because I haven’t read many books recently):

- The entirety of His Dark Materials: amazing stuff (my glasses may be rose tinted since I read it ages ago)

- There is no antimemetics division: scp horror, technically I read it as articles, but there is a book now and I need to go get myself a copy.

- The Martian: good space stuff

- 1984: really interesting book even if taken from just a fiction perspective, George clearly thought hard on it (if you’re seeing this, I’m so sorry for how long it took 😭)

📖 Mangas (again only the memorable ones but as I go back I’ll put more on)

- All of Junji Itos works: amazing but they are incredibly bad for my sleep (horror)

- Frieren: slice of life, impacts of time as seen from someone who lives far longer than her peers

- Dandadan: I literally have no idea how to describe it, it’s a ride though. tw for sa

📖 Manhua (yeah okay I’m a cultivation fiend)

- Top Tier Providence: great comedy (really the art is amazing), fun progression, kinda standard power fantasy. Highly recommend

- There is significantly less in this section than I expected, anyways buckle up for the next one.

📖 Manhwas (tiered in roughly the order I recommend them until solo leveling)

- Omniscient Readers Viewpoint: just about everyone’s most common recommendation, but for amazing reasons, it is presented so well and like such a fun world. A condensation of everything a good apocalypse story should do.

- Pick me up infinite gacha: fucking TERRIBLE name but really good on world building and character development. Great take on the whole transmigrated to a video game thing.

- SSS-Class revival hunter: there is another more common name for this one and it is even worse than the one above. Really good immediate hook and it just keeps getting better, cried quite a few times. Might even recommend it more than the one above but they’re both amazing.

- Dungeon odyssey: extremely distinctive art and a really good story with alot of worldbuilding, differentiating it from the usual Korean dungeon theme.

- The S-Classes That I Raised: the mc is awesome, character development is definitely the most major drive.

- Solo Leveling: gets a mention here because it just about popularized the entire dungeon theme, it’s a fun one but just standard power fantasy.

- Tomb Raider King: was something I read shortly after solo leveling and was just pretty fun

- Absolute sword sense: fun and a decent read if you have time and need more murim in your blood

- Return of the Mount Hua sect: good murim, good art

- Nano Machine: pretty fun murim and sci-fi mix, stakes felt real. Art is also really good

- I am the fated villain: just read Reverend Insanity, you’ll thank me

- The novels extra: somewhat fun but my memory is hazy on this one, might update

- The great mage returns after 4000 years: not too memorable but magic !!

- Murim Login: murim, pretty fun though notably art is not as good as the few earlier

- Reaper of the drifting moon: good art, forgettable story

There is most definitely more but I will add them as i am reminded

🖥️ Anime (short as I can’t really remember much rn and I just don’t really have time to watch full episodes these days)

- Madoka Magica: really good!! Watched it recently, a twist on the usual magical girl trope.

- Dandadan: on here twice because the anime was so compelling that it made me catch all the way up with the manga, insanely strange show but yeah, compelling.

- Frieren: haven’t actually watched all of it but from what I’ve seen it has been translated across really well from the manga

- Lord of the mysteries: not technically an anime (it’s a donghua) but the art and cgi are really pretty even if the pacing is a little wack compared to the ln

- Serial Experiments Lain: everyone has their own interpretation of this show to varying degrees, I’ll write about mine someday but for now I’ll just say I highly recommend it

- kinda scared to write much more for now due to the sheer amount of time it’s been since I’ve interacted with some and chances are my opinions now are drastically different.

⌨️ Games (a lot of this will just be games I enjoyed and/or remember because I’ve played so much)

- Project Moon. All of it. If there’s nothing else you take from this section, just play project moon games. Lobotomy corporation, library of ruina, limbus company. The entire franchise is amazing and delivered so potently (story games)

- Balatro: fun roguelike (roguelite maybe?) card game, very good to burn a few hours with

- IdleOn: fun game, can’t really recommend it due to it being terribly monetized

- Roblox: …………. Maybe I’ll do specifics on this someday, just noting here that I’ve spent far too much time on it

Two selves that acknowledge that they are the same person to some degree, one individual that thinks of the other as a free-roaming tumour in need of extermination, and another individual that ALSO thinks of itself as a free-roaming tumour, but one that wants desperately to live. They slowly grow apart in personality and identity as the point of divergence in their memories grows farther and farther apart.
