A fish trying not to get eaten wouldn’t slow down when the “predator” slows down. It also wouldn’t constantly swim in a circle near the edge of the tank; It’d try hiding. Also a fish in a tank in a a public place that is constantly filled with people is not likely to see people as predators.

yeah that fish is absolutely playing with that kid, if it really wanted to escape it would just dive into the reef in the center of the tank!

(Moorish Idols are reef fish and naturally will seek shelter in the nearest nook or cranny if they get scared.)

many people don’t realize this, but fish aren’t stupid animals! most of them are on par with mammals like mice and squirrels in terms of intelligence, and they absolutely do play.

Actually this is a pretty good thing of Gritty to do, all things considered. The whole thing with having celebrities ask someone out or apologize is pretty bad as its basically putting a certain amount of public pressure on the person to accept, lest you be seen negatively. Doing it like this not only negates that, but also discourages other people from trying to do the same thing.

Small kids will look up at you and with no prompting be like “umdidjyou no dat um one time my mommy and me um we um we we we went to da zoo and when I was there um last summer we went to da zoo and didjyou no what was dere? A koala I seen those on Wild Krats.”

Like wow you have no idea how conversation works but boy are you giving it your all - I will stand here and look mildly surprised the whole time and when you’re done I’ll say “really?” And you will nod and look so victorious.
