Replied to a recent comment on a fic that I wrote years ago and then took the time to revisit previous comments and I say this with complete sincerity:

Leaving a comment on a fic provides compounding delight. Authors will love initially receiving a comment, will love later recalling this and that particular aspect of a comment, and they will love rereading comments and being reminded how readers enjoyed the work.

Comments are not a one-time act of kindness and consideration. They keep giving.

Thank you to those who take the time to give a nice word, describe an excited reaction, point out favorite parts, and generally let it be known that not only has the work been read but it had some effect. :)

May '26 Drabble Challenge Word Prompts

Hello!! Below is the list you've all waited for - the May WORD PROMPTS!

We had 80 words submitted. The list was cleaned of any doubled and too similar words (for example: Myth and Mythology were both submitted, so Myth was chosen for the randomization) which brought it down to 74 prompts, and then put through a randomizer thirteen times. The first 31 words were then chosen for the prompts.

We know, also, that there has been confusion around this theme and the word prompts. We will have a clarifying FAQ post soon, so if you have any questions, please let us know so we can address them properly!

Hello, welcome to Gen Work June, a month for sharing some Gen Works!

(Gen as in relationship category, not the rating)

The Goal

To do something related to a gen work during June. This can be writing something, it can be drawing something, there are some prompts below to use for that or you can make something completely unrelated to the prompts. You can make a rec list, you can share some of your old work again, you can just leave a nice comment on a gen work, set yourself a challenge, keep it nice and easy, everything counts here.

The Rules

This is a month intended for gen works- that is, works not focused on a romantic relationship- so keeping things gen is pretty much the only rule (though mentions of background romance is allowed).

Appropriate tagging for any major warnings, read mores for long posts, and image descriptions for images are also appreciated, though there is always some slack allowed for older posts being reblogged.

Day 7 of Drabble Challenge May 2026

Tw for child abandonment/abuse

One does not choose to be born. They have no vote on who their parents might be. Or what.

He did not choose to be under the guardianship of one who angered the gods. Or if the wife who bore the burden of punishment.

Nor his 'father', though he doubted even the bull would love him.

The minotaur would not have chosen this fate, a monstrous hybrid of man and animal. To be unloved by all that knew him, locked in a labyrinth, attacked by the young humans they sent after him.

He did not ask to live this life.

To say Stone had reservations about working with the renowned scientist Doctor Robotnik would be an understatement.

The rumors about him abounded across the base, anywhere from calling him annoying to a demon.

Most would hear these rumors and likely flee to hills, or begin the first of the five stages of grief- surely he can't be that bad?

Stone wasn't like most, the rumors only deepened his curiosity. It didn't take much to go through reports on Robotnik, confidential and public.

It seemed to be a fact at GUN- Robotnik was dangerous.

But so was Stone.

It was horrifying.

The place that had been a violent assault on the eyes in terms of color had lost that same life and vibrancy

She thought having a sane Kinger all of the time would be nice, but not like this. Not when he looked so haunted.

Not while knowing that Caine was dead. It felt like they had died there too, and was one of 6 ghosts left to haunt the washed out ruins of their world.

It didnt even seem real.

But the faint background music that played in the circus was gone, just like their Caine.
