Welcome to a new thing I'm trying out, it's called Music Friday and its where I show you a song I like. And it's Friday. Today's song:

Never Have I Ever by Rainbow Kitten Surprise !! This song is very good. They released it this year, and I've already listened to it several hundred times. I love Ela Melo's voice so much, it has such a nice... grooviness to it ? Like she manages to have this texture to her voice, and it fits with the instrumentation in a fantastic way. I've spoken before about the song "It's Called: Freefall" here before, but I feel like that song is such a perfect example of her range. I really like the way the song melds its instruments, but each one is still so distinct from one another. It's deeply satisfying to listen to... The way the snares and the drums come in with the guitar... AGH !! Good as hell. Here's my favourite part of the song.

That's my Music Friday reccomendation. Listen to Rainbow Kitten Surprise I promise you'll like their music, especially if you like a more melodic kind of rock. Their vocalist is such a gorgeous talented woman, their guitarist is genuinely so killer it drives me insane, it's a very good time. If you like Wallows, The Lumineers or even something like Mt. Joy, you'll really like this band. Their whole discography is crazy good.

Feel free to also recommend songs if you want, I like hearing people's music :]

every day i walk into work and my manager says “here is the rule you must enforce” and i go “got it bossman” and i spend a couple days enforcing the rule and then my manager comes up to me and says “why are you enforcing the rule? we changed the rule yesterday and didn’t tell you” and i go “ok bossman new rule it is” and then a customer comes in asking to break the new rule and i say “sorry you can’t it’s the rule” and they say “but you don’t understand the rule doesn’t apply to me” and then my manager comes out and says “they’re right the rule doesn’t apply to them” and i ask why and my manager says “it just doesn’t.” and then the next day we get rid of the rule entirely and no one remembered it existed in the first place.

anyway this sounds like a metaphor for neurodivergence or something but it’s not this is just my fucking life

#THATS WHAT WORKING RETAIL IS LIKE YEAH.#Situation that happened with me so many times I genuinely feel insane everytime it happens:#We sell clothes right. And so often we get ppl who are looking to give a gift. We'll tell them that our trading policy is 30 days #But sometimes. People will come here. With extremely expired tickets. I'm talking six whole ass days. I'm talking more than a week #And our policy is we are Not supposed to trade these items because we only do it for 30 days and that's it #But my fucking managers keep making “exceptions” and letting them trade their shit anyway. After 48 fucking days. And I tell her #“Hey don't you think you're gonna get the customers used to the wrong policy” and she says “I'm the manager and I make the rules”#(No she fucking doesn't btw. This is store policy and something unalterable. Our previous manager used to bar people if they were a fuckin #Single Day late from trading. She is doing this almost entirely out of spite)#Some things she also allows to happen: Trading the item without a product invoice/trade token (which we put in with every gift #Trading items that are very clearly used/dirty as an “exception”#Letting people do same day trading ??? for a product they tried on at the store ?????? because they decided they didn't like it anymore ???#(Which is not something the corporation does because this tanks our numbers like fucking crazy)#She also straight up just allows customers to be rude to sellers and doesn't give a shit if they casue a ruckus at the register which has #already made almost every single cash register quit in turn #Managers looooove to have rules but they don't like following any of them it is insane

Here's a masterpost of all my current writings (plus character info and premise!) for an original story I've been posting about for about three years already! It does contain darker themes eventually but it's more about playing around with childish character tropes like hero and villain and exploring the story after the villain has been defeated.

And Here's a masterpost for a separate duo of characters and their scary hijinks together (plus character infos as well!) this is a more horror oriented story about a depressed girl and a conniving cryptid entity she befriends as she goes through personal struggles.

People may look at Jonah and think he is an unfeeling stone wall, that the depth of his emotions is as deep as the shallow end of a pool, and they wouldn't exactly be *wrong*, but that's only because he continuously puts stress on himself to be that way. He feels things often, and he's actually more of a crier than Archer is if only because he feels the spitefulness fuel him everytime he does it. One of the ways that manifests is whenever he's sleep deprived or just waking up, where he'll be in a much more fragile state compared to when he's fully up and running.

Sometimes, he'll have nightmares during the night. He won't even necessarily need to be asleep, but he'll still feel terrible, like he's being haunted by something, and often have hallucinations (Usually auditory and olfactory) accompanying his late-night paranoia. In a lot of these delusions, it will convince itself that its closest friends and family are dead, and that someone broke into the house while it foolishly rested specifically to hurt them.

Whether it believes them fully or not is a coin toss most days, but usually it just rolls to the other side and tries to forget about it to the best of its capabilities, scared as it may be. But on the days where he does think it's real, he usually spirals pretty fast, and has to go check everything before inevitably going into either Archer's room or Salt's in order to feel secure again. It hurts him to feel so scared and he HAAAAAAAATES crying when he does, but sometimes when you're a psychotic man living in a hot ass desert you are shrimply just prone to having extremely vivid delusions of your family being murdered. it struggles with falling asleep a lot after, so usually it'll just work the 'night' away and just kinda conk out whenever it feels right. Usually on the table. Or on the floor. Almost never on his couchbed.

Archer and Salt are both pretty used to it, they just help it ground itself and then tuck it in either by their side or on a mattress on the floor, but the rest of the team tends to feel a little uneasy. And it's not like they're Wrong for feeling uneasy, it's not an easy thing to deal with— It does feel scary and weird when your otherwise extremely collected and logical teammate knocks on your door obsessively during sleeping hours to check if you died, even more so if you hear it crying when you answer you're alive— But they all try their best to be understanding either way because at the end of the day it's nothing unmanageable, just a little odd. People are used to seeing it just conked out in front of peoples rooms or just out on hallways. The best thing to do is to just try to carefully wake it up and help it somewhere it can actually sleep. Jonah wakes up and doesn't really remember doing any of that (<- memory gets locked away forever because of how his brain tends to suppress distress through Mysterious Fog) (probably a condition but he ain't looking into that), so he's always kinda confused. Which are all signs of a likely very healthy person for sure

Sometimes its an every night thing, where he'll just have the extremely firm belief that something terrible is going to happen and that he'll surely be to blame for it, but sometimes he'll start saying something so stupid and absurd he'll knock himself out of the delusion. Straight up just goes "?? the fuck am I saying rn" and then goes back to sleep like nothing even happened. He's silly

"ohhh Hornet takes two mask damage to anything and Ghost is much tankier" that's because she fell through a fucking mountain and broke her spine. I'd like to see you fighting the last judge with a spinal injury. And also the Knight is clearly just built different because Broken Vessel did not do any of that. And the Knight also doesn't have a fucking dodge because its skillset is to facetank until something dies. Because it is full of The Abyss
