so its a really grim day today so i had to use my flash which detracts some what from the awesomeness that is the mermaids forever pallet by make-up revolution London. also please try to ignore my fingerprints on the box. love this pallet soo much, the colour and consistency of the powders are so good and for £8 wow!
from left to right, haut red, fuchsia and wild orchid. avon lip crayons. love these, got them on offer 3 for £12 before Christmas and have been wearing them ever since. the only down side is the fuchsia one has literal chunks of glitter in.
three hits and a miss. lash sensational maybelline awesome! great coverage, volume and length. big bold lashes by avon, great! good colour, nice finish, mine is in navy. colour trend mascara in neon blue by avon, lovely colour, good coverage, always get nice comments when i have it on. the fail is miss sporty fabulous lash. doesnt cover well, dont really do much but make my eyes itch. dont waste your money.
Three is the magic number when it comes to a good base. match perfection foundation in ivory, collection lasting perfection concealer in shade one and mally powder foundation in fair.
the dream team that saved my make-up brushes from being thrown out the window. before i started using these my make up would go on and cling to all my dry bits and be almost completely gone in a couple of hours. the face wash has t tree oil in and washes away excess oil. the matifying primer keeps my make up where i want it and the pro base moisturises the dry patches and smooths the knobbly bits. all under a fiver, cant go wrong!

“That’s a big claim” i hear you say, but it actually did. I thought the rimmel perfect match foundation was a heap of crap but with this stuff under it, its usable! i got the mattifying pore minimiser because Im oily round my t zone to the point of it being a bit gross round the nose. I was sceptical that this would do anything but it did.
it dried up all the oil and kept it at bay for a good couple of hours. the foundation went on lovely and smooth and stayed put for at long as I needed it to. the oil started to seep through around lunch time but I powdered it down and it was good for another couple of hours.
on a side note, I used it for i night out and it stopped me leaving fingerprints all over the glassware.
Im really impressed with this product and for under a fiver you cant go wrong with this little gem!
The Rimmel foundation issue
I finally hit pan on my mally powder foundation and started to panic, its the kind of panic that happens when you love a product but will need to sell a kidney to replace it. As I quite like a drink,loosing a kidney isn’t an option so I decided to try some drug store alternatives. I was going to make a YouTube video on it, battle of the rimmel foundations. The two I picked were healthy mix and match perfection. Happily they were both on offer so I got both for a tenner, sadly I hated them both equally but for different reasons.
The healthy mix fell into lines that hadn’t even developed properly on my face yet making me look ten years older. The match perfection lasted about half an hour before it started wearing off in big patches so by the end of the day I looked like an extra from the walking dead.
So the healthy mix got an old lady out of ten and the match perfection got a rotting corpse out of ten. Needless to say I will be sticking with mally.
Tanya burr cosmetics broke my face!
You know the drill, you follow someone on YouTube, enjoy there content and then they come out with a cosmetics line and you instantly think it is going to be awesome and go buy it even though its aimed at twelve year olds and you are over thirty. You get it home, or in my case unwrap it from under the Christmas tree and get stuck in. I got the Tanya burr candy glam beauty essentials palette. It had nine eye shadow shades, a lip gloss, a blush and a bronzer. I was so pleased with the palette when I first used it, the colours were beautiful, they went on like butter and were so well pigmented. I was in girlie heaven for the first few days of using the products and not a thing could go wrong. But then.... One day I wore make up for a whole day, not just a couple of hours like I normally would. All was well for a few hours then my cheeks started to feel strange. Not sore exactly but not right. When I took my makeup off that night, OMG the blusher had not only sucked all the moisture out of my cheeks, but it had left a rash that took days to clear. It was down hill after that, first I couldn't use the blush, then the eyeshades made my eyes itch. Now all I'm left with is the gloss, my least favourite part of the set. I'll use it over other lip products coz I'm a trooper like that but its not great. So that's the sad story of how Tanya burr inadvertently broke my face. I really hope the palette worked out better for you as they were lovely colours but I won't be using her stuff again, just in case.
