Ozzie Smith: Make baseball's opening day a national holiday

NEW YORK (AP) - Ozzie Smith wants the federal government to make opening day of the major league baseball season a national holiday.

Even though I don’t watch much baseball anymore I’d be behind this, get rid of Columbus day, move that ‘holiday’ to opening day because the saying isn’t ‘As American as baseball and apple pie’ for nothing. In fact, it can be Apple Pie day!
