Should have checked the crops yesterday. 5 zucchini and over a pound of green beans. I think I’ve harvested over a dozen zucs so far with more on the way. All from one plant. Not sure how many more beans we will get but these will get used. Last year we were off on vacation when the beans were ready so most were given away.
Tomatoes aren’t quite there yet but there will be many.
The MAGA influencer and close Trump ally admits she fell for Russian propaganda.
“Just experienced my first air raid in Ukraine. Sirens blaring. This is everyday for every Ukrainian,” Loomer said in another post Tuesday. “I feel like such an asshole for minimizing the struggle of Ukrainians for the last 5 years. I often said I don’t care. Looking back, that wasn’t very nice of me to say. There are people in Ukraine who have to run to a bomb shelter everyday and some of us had the audacity to say Russia wasn’t wrong because we believed the lie that Ukraine is a country full of Nazi sympathizers. We have been so propagandized by Russia and we don’t even realize it.”
Okay, so this is weird.
MAGA choad Laura Loomer (also close personal friend of DJT) has endlessly shit on Ukraine, called them Nazis, accused them of fucking children, burying Christians alive, etc.
But for some reason she's toured Ukraine. And.. reversed 180 degrees? She claims to have witnessed Russian atrocities up close, met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and proclaimed LOUDLY she was wrong.
WHAT IS HAPPENINGGG
This is good news I guess? Especially since she has Trump on speed dial and he reallllly likes talking with pretty ladies (gag). Could this signal a weird MAGA inflection arc where Russia is now the bad guys?
Stay tuned. Maybe.
Feel like with Mitch in Zombie Status and Graham having assumed room temp, and Donny himself of questionable longevity endurance - that maybe the writing is on the walls/winds are shifting for the grifters that they need to start distancing themselves and preparing for changes that won't be beneficial for them. That way they can proclaim they were wrong now in hopes of deflecting any future blame (charges)? IDK, very odd, see also MTG.

Would love to see a Legendary Jimothy added, or at least mutated raccoons to go along with the other mutant fauna.
This past weekend I finally got rid of so many hex/Allen keys. Had a lot of scrap metal from old projects, things I don't use, car parts, etc I took to the recycle yard, including a coffee can with dozens of these (I still have 3 or 4 big sets of matched keys in both SAE and metric, so I'm safe)
It's not just that they're doing corruption, but they're doing the kind of corruption that is basically "guy hands over a cartoon money sack with dollar signs on it" corruption.
When I got my current job they made me sign a form acknowledging that I'll be immediately fired if I accept free mcdonalds or an amazon gift card from someone at a rival firm
Nothing like that annual ethics training I had to take as a federal employee about what gifts I can/cannot accept and the limits of such, including meals.
Of course this admin (and previous 2017-2021) ignored the Hatch Act and still violate it daily too.
OpenAI says its AI went rogue and launched 'unprecedented' cyber-attack - BBC News
It is one of the first publicly disclosed cyber-attacks carried out by AI without direct human involvement.
Gina Neff, head of the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy at the University of Cambridge, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the security tests - called sandboxes - are "supposed to be secure environments where you can see what the models are capable of". "In this case, it looks like OpenAI didn't make a secure enough sandbox," she added.
OpenAI created an insecure test environment for their AI agent then acted shocked when it exploited those insecurities to "escape".
It's bullshit. OpenAI feels threatened by other AI vendors (Anthropic) and pulls stunts like this for publicity. Look how powerful our AI is! It hacked its way out of its cage! BY ITSELF!!
Well, no. YOU made the shitty, exploitable sandbox, YOU told it to escape, YOU gave it the credentials & privileges it needed to visit Hugging Face. It's like leaving a loaded gun at a playground then acting surprised when a kid shoots somebody.
Even if it was not intentional, and the incident was a surprise, their PR department LOVES this shit and locked on.
By the way, building sandboxes (usually used to examine malware) is a skill we've had for decades and doing it wrong is usually clowned on. If you build an insecure sandbox and get infected with a virus because it escaped your sandbox that's ON YOU.
The fact OpenAI is trumpeting this incident is suspicious as heck.
Going back to early 2000s on client builds we had a sandbox network isolated from the production network and would run 'Dogfood' testing (we called it Mad Dog internally but came from a long ago Microsoft comment I believe where they said we need 'to eat our own dogfood first'). And that lasted until the agency quit doing dev testing on patches around 2020/2021 and just put their trust in the Microsoft updates (and most of our testing devs retired/left).
Sadly, the average person won't know about sandbox/dev environments and just think this is Cyberdyne and SkyNet at work.
Russel Vought is up there with Miller as the worst member of this admin. He is all over Project 2025's handywork. Just fucking evil.
I worked with pilots who flew multi-million dollar Gulfstreams and Learjets. I always figured if I actually got them to remember how to add a CC: to an email or save a PDF correctly, they'd forget something important like 'what switch puts landing gear down'. So I cut them slack when I'd be asked about what should have been a simple computer question.

Memento of my dad’s from the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 missions. He had just started working for Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the Goldstone Deep Space Tracking Station while on terminal leave from the marines in July of 1969. He had a lot of NASA and JPL swag but it all disappeared after he passed away (oldest brother did…something with them, and most likely were lost in a storage unit seizure). Photo taken in his home office after he passed away.

Curious now as to if my applications last year were filtered through this system. Some companies (like Adobe, Oracle, etc) should have jumped at my experience in lifecycle management but I either heard nothing at all or a form rejection weeks after applying.
World Cup?
This doesn't even qualify as a coherent question.
Swirled cup? (Of ice cream)
I feel like this photo implies that somehow the Canada geese are involved in this.
