Wow, coming back here 10 years later. And it looks... exactly the same. Maybe this is the corner of the universe where I should go to die.
I don’t think people know what it’s like to hate yourself. It’s not aching or constant. It doesn’t remind you that it’s there. It’s a crack in the ceiling that drips water into your living room. You don’t know how to fix it - you’re not a repairman. Instead, you put a bucket beneath it so carpet doesn’t get wet. Then you go out and get cheap pizza with your friends and play laser tag. You take pictures in four-shot photo booths with hearts in the margins. When you get home you pin it to the cork board in your kitchen beside all the others. Then you retire to the living room to relax and you see the bucket. It’s full to the brim; it can’t take another drop. So you pick it up, but the water splashes all over your carpet and nice out-with-your-friends clothes. You pour what’s left into the grass outside and put the bucket back in the living room. The carpet is covered in water, but you don’t have the energy to take care of it. You feel ten times heavier in your soaking wet clothes. You look at yourself in the hallway mirror, dripping and disheveled. Why didn’t you empty the bucket earlier? Why weren’t you more careful on your way to the yard? Why couldn’t you fix the crack in the ceiling? Why did you do this to yourself? Fix it, you say to yourself. But… your clothes are so heavy.
Rules: describe yourself with nine pictures you have on your phone, you cannot download or search new pictures.

man like. being lgbt kind of ruins time with relatives in a very specific way that cishets will never truly experience. like family time can be rough tm but theres a special brand of discomfort that lgbt people face and it’s kinda wild
It’s the specific feeling of “these people’s love is entirely conditional, and I know exactly what the conditions are, and one day I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and come out and none of these people will love me anymore”. It’s not a feeling cishet ppl experience for obvious reasons.
Even with family that Accepts You tm, theres always this level of “I can only talk about being gay so much before it gets Uncomfortable. I cant actually talk about dating bc someone will look like they ate a raw lemon whole eventually until I’m told I’m oversharing and then conversation will turn to Perfect Cousin with her Perfect Husband and When Are We Going To See Babies? Are they trying? How often? And just….its annoying that it still has to be Rough tm when u do come out and for the most part ur still loved an accepted, but u cant actually talk about it too much, even in the sense of Finding Someone or Boo Evil Politics bc ppl will STILL get visibly uncomfortable
also when you’re trans, you get the We Love You And Accept You ™️, but they still misgender you like every sentence and if you have the audacity to remind them of your correct pronouns, then you’re Attacking Them, no matter how gently you point it out
The very specific capitalization in this post is a literal work of art.

I love looking at myself when I get out of the shower because the mirror is all fogged up and I’m not wearing my glasses and the shapeless blob reflection is actually kinda hot
The canon LGBTAQ+ character of the day is:
You!!!
Me: Who is your fav gen 1 starter?
Friend: Uh. Bulbasaur?
Me: More like Bulba-SNORE!
Other friend: Oooohhh!!
Friend: Wait. Did you have a joke ready for all three of them?
Me: No. Just Bulbasaur.
Friend: So you just. Took a chance. A one in three chance at that joke. And those were good odds to you?
Me: ...
Friend: ...
Me: ...yes.

“Son, did you or did you not place your name in this stupid fire cup?”
“Welcome back to school, children. This year, your Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher will be this woman from the Ministry of Magic. Why the government is interfering in the affairs of a private institution is beyond me. If you have any complaints, please do not bring them to me. End of speech.”
“Sir, why did Voldemort want to kill me?” “There was some stupid prophecy made that you would defeat him. I do not believe in prophecies. He did and now he’s dead. Learn something from that.”
In dnd, resurrecting PCs becomes so easy at higher levels, and though I think that’s a positive, I really like the idea that dying has lasting consequences or triggers events in a PC. Here’s a simple table of interesting but hopefully not game breaking or character destroying ideas. Thoughts? Improvements?
Oh these are FUN. Thanks for making this table!

Yes, Kevin, I brought my Game Boy to school. Did it bring you joy when you told the teacher? Did it satisfy your bloodlust when she confiscated it from me? You are no paragon of virtue. You are a beast. A vile monstrosity who feeds on suffering. The laws of man may celebrate your deeds, but higher powers may say otherwise.
There’s no text here and it still manages to make a very compelling argument.
