Hi, I'm Agie, and along with @transamus and @potionslushie I've been working on a big update to PierMesh, a project to bring cheap radio based, decentralized and disaster resistant web technology to trans women and other marginalized people. I've made a demo video of the WebUI and the underlying technologies of it which now include a DNS analog and a bidirectional peer to peer protocol. Please take a look and share this post around if you're so inclined.
So for a simpler explanation of PierMesh here's a tldr: we can now create a distributed internet between nodes miles apart (testing needed but this is a key feature of LoRa) with no intermediate network stack, at very low cost (each LoRa board itself is less then $20) and very quickly. Users can communicate via html/text and can publish/view sites. The boards involved are very low power and could potentially be powered entirely by solar power making PierMesh very helpful during outages. PierMesh will also be able to communicate with the regular internet in a lighter fashion which we're hoping will help people in rural areas communicate. One last addition: PierMesh will be end to end encrypted and I will have the prototype implementation soon
This is mom's project
