Offerings ✰ Liah & Kyanna
mamaskull:
Kyanna watched them take their leave, keeping her gaze locked on the two until they disappeared out of her sight. Then, she turned back to her green-haired companion and shook her head with a sigh.
“I’m so sorry you had to go through that, they’re.. they’re good people, I promise.” Of course she couldn’t speak for everyone in Team Skull, and maybe she was biased but she did strongly believe that none of her fellow teammates had a truly bad bone in their body, even if they tried to. Not even the locals took them seriously, just saw them as an annoyance and little more, looked down on them even.
“I guess you could say that, I’m no admin or anything like that but I do bake a lot of cookies and stuff. That’s something they appreciate about having me around, I guess…”
Liah’s gaze softens as Kyanna defends her fellow grunts with an almost motherly air, nodding slightly as the tall Skull woman looks after their retreating figures. Previously frightened by the aggressive encounter, the empathetic Lady feels her heart twinge with sad sympathy. How many of these Grunts have families, or even love, in their lives? When Liah glances back up at Kyanna again, there’s an understanding smile on her face.

Kyanna felt a slight chill as she led the way through the seemingly never-ending sands of Alola’s (thankfully) only desert. It seemed to be a bit colder than usual tonight, for whatever reason, and she was starting to regret not bringing a jacket. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, so maybe it was just a particularly frigid night-- and it was a desert after all anyway. Clutching her basket tight, she scanned the area carefully for any wild Pokemon that might be lurking about, and to remember which way she had to go. Getting lost while leading someone would be... embarrassing, to say the very least.
She pressed onward, vaguely certain she was going the right way. Damn place was a maze like something out of a video game: completely unreal, and yet here they were.
She only stopped in her tracks when Liah asked a question she, admittedly, wasn’t sure how to answer. Caught off guard, she remained silent for a moment, long enough to come up with something that would be vague as to not unload her entire life story on someone she just met not long ago.
“Well.. I had a gig somewhere else first, but it didn’t really... work out I guess? Heard about a bunch of troublemakers makin’ themselves at home in Po Town and I guess I was sort of.. drawn there.” She explained, sparing the details of why and hoping it was a sufficient answer.
She then turned around and offered a reassuring smile, as she wasn’t really bothered by being asked these things at all, there were just some key details she preferred to keep hidden away from others.
“Nah, don’t worry about it, I totally get it.” She assured, “ and as for how long I’ve been with ‘em, give or take... Uh, I wanna say I’ve been around since it was first kind of getting off the ground? Not longer than our admin, Plumes, but longer than a lot of ‘em. We make our home in a huge mansion which probably sounds great but the whole town is without power ‘cuz we can’t really pay rent, but we make it work.”
