For those who don't understand, EBT are food stamps (government money for buying food for low-income people). Because the money is from the government, it comes with horrific restrictions, one of which is you cannot buy "prepared" food with it. You can only buy raw chicken, not cooked chicken, for example.

Hi guys, I'm extremely disheartened to say that the past 12 hours we have only helped Shaima and Muhammad raise $100. This is simply unacceptable, especially in the wake of the accusations levelled at Wafaa @wafans-blog recently in the smear campaign that was lead recently by a very vocal group of racists on this site, and seems to still be ongoing.
Shaima and Muhammad’s campaign was vetted by @/el-shab-hussein on his spreadsheet as family number 260. They are Wafaa’s sister and brother, and while they have 14 family members in total to evacuate, the family has decided on prioritizing evacuation of their vulnerable children first, even if it means separating them from their family for the sake of their safe evacuation.
We still haven't collected the full amount required to evacuate all TEN of them.
The funds for four of their oldest children are still left to raise, so please don’t look away. The younger children and the newborn Salem NEED their older siblings to evacuate with them so that they will be safe when traveling to the border.
Funds for Muhammad’s two eldest children, Zeina (16 years old) and Ahmed (17 years old) need to be raised within this week. Because of the Hala agency’s greed and shameless exploitation of people who are fleeing genocide, this means we will need to reach $30k by this sunday. This campaign has always seen short bursts of activity before returning to stagnation. This is unacceptable.
The inconsistent ups and downs have taken a toll on Wafaa, who had to evacuate to egypt alone early on during the genocide to seek treatment in Egypt for a serious medical condition, and has since had to neglect her medical treatment in favour of fundraising for her family's safety. She has been losing sleep every night everytime the number of donations dip, especially after the accusations had briefly setback the campaign. There has been an untold amount of damage that has been done, and it is our duty at this point to rectify it.
She deserves to be reunited with her family, with her niece and nephews whom she considers her own children. She has lovingly described Zeina as a talented baker who is first to volunteer for any happy occasion, and Ahmed as a gifted guitar player and singer.
Ahmed was recently shot at by the iof during the al-Mawasi camp massacre while trying to find food for his younger siblings. They have lost a lot of their childhood that they should have spent nurturing their talents to this genocide, and are losing more and more of it everyday we delay getting them their funds.
