"Why do you love women?"

I was asked this by my uncle as he, my father, my male cousins, and my dad all sat around a campfire. This was a "boys-night" and I was 10 years old.

My dad told me he loved women because they took care of him and of children. My cousins said they loved women because they were sweet. My uncle said he loved women because they could cook and they had common sense.

I said I loved women because they could do everything a man could do, but they could do it with while still being underestimated.

Now that i'm 14 i would re-word it like this: "I love women because they have the ability to overcome oppression and go above and beyond what is expected of them every single time because that's just in a woman's nature. Women are amazing and they work 150% harder at every turn because they must. The grit that women as a whole produce and exhibit is incredible. Women are the only section of humanity that across the globe have been under scrutiny their whole lives and despit that they still push up and thrive. That's why I love women."

All this is to say that men really 'love' women for some of the shallowest parts of womenhood. They love women, as a whole, for small, insignificant features and it shows in the way they treat us. That's why lesbians and other wlw are just so much better then straight men, we love women not for how much they aid us in our personal life or hiw helpful they are in our goals but instead we love women because they are their own people! Sometimes i think a lot of staight men forget that we are our own people and we don't just exist to help them clean, cook, and raise children.
