something i've realized with consuming content for a very large fandom is the prevalence of obnoxious shippers

see there's this one ship which is the biggest ship in the fandom, and if you take it in a vacuum, i totally get why it's so popular -- the dynamic is interesting, it has good screentime, all the things which usually make me ship something

but then i just see people being weird about it, insisting that it's absolutely canon and not accepting any other interpretations of the relationship, and it just?? kind of turns me off from the ship

and like, i've read some fics with the ship that were mostly plot-based and the relationship was a sideplot, and i enjoyed those -- so i don't not ship it or even dislike the ship. for comparison, there's a ship in another fandom that i can't stand and i refuse to read fics with it, even if they're mostly plot-based over relationship-based

it's just like, having it shoved in your face as the only "acceptable/valid" pairing is what gets me, especially as a multishipper

i'm not even deliberately trying to look for these obnoxious shippers btw, i'm usually just scrolling on pinterest or instagram and i get jumpscared by their comments

you can, however, curate your own internet experience by minding your own business, muting/blocking/scrolling past what upsets you but does not hurt anyone in real life in any way, shape or form.

there is, in fact, no limit. I may be uncomfortable with it, I may even find it unpleasant/disturbing, but my personal feelings are not rules that can be applied to other people, and they absolutely do not justify shaming or harassing other people.

highly subject to change though depending on character kits, because if one of the others ends up being an insane support i'll probably pull for them

tfw you want to write an AU of your own original story (essentially fanfiction) so you replicate the ao3 layout in google docs, down to the fonts (except i can't get the drop shadow on the box to work because google docs removed that from in-document google drawings for some reason???)

it only works with oneshots for now tho, idk how to do the buttons for multichapter fics unless i just format it like a "show entire work" fic

the funny thing is, i literally have a track record of doing this -- i went and made google docs look like a youtube comment section and twitter posts a few years ago, i think i attempted reddit at one point as well

honestly the trick is just using the table feature, it works better cross-platform and it lets you mess around with margins/spacing more easily

somehow got back to reading bnha fics and hooo boy 7th grade me was missing out on a lot of peak fiction

for context, bnha was one of the first fandoms i actually started reading fics for on ao3 --- however i filtered out a TON of fics back then so i was severely limiting myself lol

i probably won't ever finish reading the manga as i was starting to get a bit bored of it, even back in 8th grade, but i read a pretty good chunk of it so it's not like there's anything unfamiliar in the fics
