LORRAINE MEEKS INTRO
full name: lorraine rochelle meeks
age: 35
birthdate: february 27
hometown: chicago, il
sexuality: bisexual
romantic orientation: biromantic
occupation: er nurse @ maple brook general
relationship status: single, never married
Lorraine was born to a single mother and never knew her father. Her relationship with her mother was a close one, and they were often times more like best friends than mother and daughter. It is from her mother that Lorraine gets her work ethic, her kindness, and the attitude she does well at hiding.
Since childhood Lorraine was drawn to medicine of all kinds. As a young girl she would come home after school and immediately begin watching medically-based programs, whether they were ‘true stories’ or dramatized. Therefore, it came as no shock when she declared, as a senior in high school, that her major in college would be Nursing.
Socially, Lorraine has always flourished. While she was never the popular mean-girl type, she always kept a large circle, remained surrounded by friends, and always seemed to know someone wherever she went. This is something she has kept up in adulthood, having many acquaintances and always looking to make new friends.
Lorraine is currently an RN in the Emergency Department, but is also in school to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Eventually, I would like to see a plot for Lorraine in which she explores new hobbies and dives deeper into a ‘finding herself’ type journey. With this, I would love for her to open the plot to others in terms of people who help her to learn the following skills: gardening, pottery, and baking.

Sliding into a seat across from Iris, Lorraine gave her coffee a quick stir before bringing the mug to her lips and taking a sip. "Mmmm..." She groaned, allowing her eyes to flutter closed for a brief moment before opening them once more. "Coffee, I swear it's my lifeforce." Laughing, she took another sip before turning to her croissant and taking a bite. "I'm so glad we were able to get together today. Things at the hospital have been nuts. I swear, I will never stop being both confused and simultaneously impressed by the ways people find to injure themselves." Giving her bite a final chew, she swallowed before continuing. "But, enough of that. Tell me what has been up with you!"
Ema always tended to leave the farmer's market with more than she had intended to buy, chalking t up to supporting Maple Brook and local businesses. "Oh, same...and yet when I leave, my bag is always full." Ema chuckles, gesturing towards the canvas bag that currently hung on her shoulder. "It's best to just give into it. The farmer's market will tell you what you need."
Laughing, Lorraine nodded her head in agreement, gesturing to her own bags hanging from her wrist. "It seems that's a common problem. Maybe we should form a support group. It'd at least be cheaper." Glancing quickly at the prices of the baked goods at the stall she'd paused at, she gave a dramatic wince before turning back to the other. "I don't mind paying for quality, really I don't. That's just the problem though, isn't it? Everything here is quality." Sighing, she shifted to open her purse, digging for her wallet. "I'll take your word for it. What I'll do with an entire pie to myself I can't say...You wouldn't be interested in taking half off my hands, would you? I'm only half-joking, by the way. If you want it, it's totally yours." Extending a hand, she added, "I'm Lorraine, by the way."

Running her palms over the front of her costume once more, Lorraine plastered a smile on her face before making her way into the bar. The spray-on glitter she'd practically drenched herself in shone beneath the lighting, matching the sparkles on her dress and on the fairy wings attached to her back. Stepping up to the bar, she patiently waited to be acknowledged while taking a look around, hoping to spot a familiar face. "Wow, this place is packed!" She commented to the person nearest. "Have you been wiating long?"

Adjusting the strap on her purse, Lorraine stepped up to the front door of Skin Deep, the local tattoo parlor. Her eyes ran over the flash sale designs posted, and her teeth worried her lower lip as she searched for one that seemed like something she'd like to have. "Decisions, decisions..." She muttered to herself, letting out a frustrated sigh before giving a quick glance around. Spotting a nearby figure she smiled, waiting until they'd closed a bit of the distance between them before asking, "Excuse me, quick question for you- if you were going to get a flash tattoo, which of these would you choose?" She asked, gesturing to the displayed designs. "Just out of curiosity."

Stepping into the line for the hayride, Lorraine grinned ear-to-ear. After having been through the Haunted House attraction (and, if she were being honest, getting sufficiently more scared than even the children in attendance), she decided to opt for a tamer form of entertainment. "I feel a bit ridiculous." She admitted to no one in particular, glancing at the figure nearest her and offering a shy smile. "I'm pretty sure I screamed louder than anyone else in the Haunted House. Hopefully this is a little less intense. Do you think?"

Cutting her car's engine, Lorraine took a deep breath before checking her reflection once more in her rearview mirror, fluffing her hair just a bit before shifting to exit her vehicle. Arms folded over her chest, she followed the crowd of people making their way toward Station 5 for the jack-o'-lantern event they hosted each year. This certainly wasn't the first year Lorraine had attended the event, and in fact it had become one of her favorites of the season- for obvious reason. Stepping into the line, she shifted her weight between her feet, glancing around and giving a warm smile to the person behind her. "Come here often?" She joked, laughing lightly. "Personally, I think this is such a great event. Help the community and get a show? Sign me up."

Stepping over to a nearby stand, Lorraine allowed her eyes to run hungrily over the selection of homemade breads and pies, all adorned beautifully and appearing to have been baked to perfection. Taking a deep breath she inhaled the aromas swirling around her, her mouth watering as her willpower against buying anything began to dwindle. "You know," she began, speaking aloud to no one in particular. "Every time I come to these things I tell myself I don't have to spend anything. Then I pass booths like these and it's like...How can I not?" Chuckling, she gave a quick shake of her head. "Not that I need any of it. Does anyone, really?"

Straightening her spine Lorraine leaned forward in her seat, stretching her back as she let out a sigh of relief. Standing, she crossed her arms over her front before turning to make her way to the refreshments table, intending to stock up before the beginning of the movie's showing. Stepping to the table, she scanned the selection before commenting to the person next to her, "this is so great, don't you think? I mean, I never would have thought to have a 'Mean Girls' event, but just look at this turnout! Are you a longtime fan, or were you just looking for something to do tonight?"

Autumn in the northeast was both the best and worst time of year, in JD's opinion. He loved the colors of the season but they tended to end too quickly. Plus, the arrival of Autumn brought with it all the tasks required to ensuring the farm was winter ready which usually meant that JD was working from sun up to sun down, which wasn't usually a problem, but quickly became so the colder the days became. But with the arrival of Autumn came all of the Autumn activities which JD could not complain about... even if some of them scared him. "I'm sort of embarrassed," he said glancing around at all of the children in line to experience the haunted house attraction. "I promise not to scream, but I'll be wishing I could the whole time."
Since childhood fall had been Lorraine's most favorite season. The colors alone were attractive and seemed to warm her from within, and that was without taking into account the flavors, the scents, and the events. Growing up, her mother had taken great care to ensure Lorraine would always have a magically spooky season, and it was a tradition she'd carried on for herself even after having left home. Smiling as the children around her bounced excitedly in the line, her attention was drawn by a nearby voice- one belonging to another adult. Laughing, she gave a quick shake of her head. "No need to be embarrassed! Haunted Houses are for everyone!" Taking a step towards the other, Lorraine's smile brightened. "Hey, that makes one of us. I make no promises of the sort. In fact, if you hear someone sounding like they're being tortured, it's probably me. In which case...Save yourself I guess." Extending a hand she added, "I'm Lorraine, I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting!"
