Saw your request for Leon S. Kennedy inspo!
My suggestion is mostly just Leon being wrapped around his six year old daughter’s finger. Whatever baby says goes. If she’s mad at him, just shoot him already. She’s the reason the sun rises in the morning. She’s his only reason to live some days.
Coworkers who don’t know him that well just see a very serious and professional agent, but those that know him well know that he just saves all his happiness and all his smiling for his little girl who likes baking and having tea parties with him. He is the father of the girliest girl to ever girl in the history of girldom, after all. He will wear a tiara and princess dress if she wants to play dress up. He will watch the same Disney movie on loop if that’s all she wants to watch. He will pretend to not hear her giggling or see her little ponytail and feet sticking out from behind the side of the big armchair in the living room while playing hide and seek, but will purposely hide in the worst spots so she can giggle about how bad her daddy is at hiding.
When he can, he insists on personally doing bedtime with her. Even if he’s exhausted and smelled like death literally twenty minutes ago, he will not let anyone else do bedtime. He has to help her pick out her clothes for the next day and pick out a cute nightie for her to sleep in. And then he has to have her pick a storybook so he can tuck her in and read quietly until she falls asleep with her little police officer elephant hugged close.
Leon honestly didn’t care that he usually comes to work smelling like what someone would imagine the color pink to smell like, or that he might have puffy princess stickers stuck along his muscular arm, or that he comes in carrying a beanie baby that his little girl’s insisted he take so he doesn’t forget her. Why would he when his little girl was just happy to have him home that morning since she knows Daddy works a lot even though he wants to spend every second of every day catering to her every whim?
And if people ask about the stickers or the toy or the burgundy nail polish that’s already chipped, Leon just pulls out the pictures of his baby girl from his wallet and shows them off along with gesturing to the framed picture of them together during her kindergarten “graduation” and the several drawings and finger paintings pinned up on his bulletin board. He works hard as an agent and even harder to be a good father to his little girl, is it a crime to show off how cute she is or how talented of a little artist she is?
Basically, just girl dad Leon doing anything his princess says and bragging about her any fucking chance he gets. Do whatever you want, headcanons or a drabble or a oneshot, just whatever you think is best given my suggestion!
Have a nice timezone, drink wawa, and please don’t feel the need to answer this if you don’t want to!
• His daughter absolutely runs his life.
Leon can command tactical units, survive bioweapons, and negotiate under fire… but if his daughter crosses her arms and says “Daddy.” in that disappointed voice, he folds instantly.
• His coworkers learned very quickly that Leon’s weakness is glitter.
The first time he came into work with pink glitter stuck in his hairline, nobody said anything.
The second time he came in wearing a plastic butterfly ring, someone finally asked.
• His desk is the most decorated one in the entire office.
Other agents have files, medals, and framed commendations.
crayon drawings of “Daddy fighting monsters”
a macaroni necklace pinned to the board
a kindergarten graduation photo
a glitter-covered card that says BEST DADY EVER (misspelled and treasured)
He refuses to take any of it down.
• He carries at least one toy from her everywhere.
Usually it’s her little police officer elephant plush.
She told him, very seriously:
“Elephant protects you from monsters.”
Leon, who has fought actual monsters, accepted the protection immediately.
If she gives him a toy to take to work, it must come back safely.
One time he forgot it in his car and she cried.
Leon now triple-checks his pockets before leaving the house.
• He always smells faintly like something pink.
Some kind of sparkly kids’ lotion.
If anyone comments, he just pulls out his wallet and shows pictures.
• He is the worst hide-and-seek player on purpose.
Leon can clear buildings and track enemies through forests.
But somehow when they play hide-and-seek he hides behind things like:
a curtain that only covers half his body
He pretends to be shocked when she finds him.
Her giggling is worth the embarrassment.
No matter how exhausted he is, Leon insists on doing bedtime whenever he’s home.
1. Picking pajamas together
2. Letting her choose the story
4. Reading until she falls asleep
5. Sitting there for a few extra minutes just watching her breathe
It’s the calmest moment in his entire life.
• She paints his nails whenever she wants.
Leon goes to work with it without removing it.
When someone asks, he just says:
“My daughter worked hard on these.”
Leon is usually quiet and reserved.
Unless someone asks about his kid.
Then suddenly he’s pulling out:
stories about how she baked cookies
stories about how she learned a new word
stories about how she “almost beat him” at hide-and-seek
Hunnigan has heard the same story at least six times.
• He will absolutely wear the tiara.
If she wants to play princess:
sometimes a princess dress
He sits in tiny chairs at tea parties like it’s a diplomatic meeting.
Serious face and everything.
• Disney movie marathons are mandatory.
If she wants to watch the same movie five times in a row?
Leon watches it five times.
He can quote entire scenes now and doesn’t even realize it.
• She’s the only person who sees him truly relaxed.
The office knows the professional agent.
letting her braid his hair
letting her climb all over him
She gets the version of Leon that the world rarely sees.
• She knows he fights monsters.
Not the details. Just the concept.
So sometimes she gives him “equipment” before work:
a drawing of him defeating monsters
Leon keeps every single one.
• When she’s mad at him, it destroys him.
If she pouts or refuses a hug?
Leon looks like he’s been shot.
He will apologize immediately, even if he didn’t do anything.
• His phone background is just her.
Usually something ridiculous like:
her covered in flour while baking
wearing a princess crown sideways
hugging her elephant plush
He looks at it whenever work gets bad.
• She is literally his reason to keep going.
Leon has seen the worst the world has to offer.
But every time he gets home and she runs at him yelling “DADDY!”
That’s the moment the world feels okay again.
more bedtime-focused headcanons because they’re cute
• Bedtime always starts with “pajama negotiations.”
Leon will walk into her room and ask, very seriously:
“Alright, princess. What’s tonight’s uniform?”
And she’ll pull out three options like she’s presenting tactical gear:
Leon helps her decide like it’s the most important decision of the day.
• She insists he helps pick the story.
Even though she always ends up choosing the same three books anyway.
Leon pretends to debate each one carefully.
“Hmmm… this one has elephants.”
“But we read that yesterday!”
Then she dramatically decides which one wins.
• She always climbs into his lap while he reads.
Even if she started out sitting next to him.
Halfway through the story she slowly migrates until she’s curled into his chest like a sleepy cat.
Leon automatically shifts his arm around her without even looking up from the book.
• Her stuffed elephant is part of the bedtime routine.
The elephant is named Officer Ellie.
Before lights out she always tells Leon:
“Ellie protects the house.”
Leon will salute the stuffed animal.
• Leon reads the story in different voices.
He tries to keep it serious.
But eventually she demands:
So Leon, elite government agent, ends up doing the worst cartoon elephant voice imaginable while reading.
Her giggles echo through the hallway.
• Sometimes she makes him tell “Daddy stories.
These are not real mission stories.
Instead she asks things like:
“Tell the story about when you were little.”
So Leon ends up making up wholesome childhood adventures that are about:
getting lost at the grocery store
He edits his past heavily for bedtime audiences.
• She always fights sleep for the last five minutes.
Leon can see it happening.
Her grip on the elephant plush loosens.
• He stays even after she falls asleep.
Leon just sits there with her tucked under his arm until her breathing settles.
Sometimes he brushes a little hair away from her face.
Sometimes he just watches.
After days filled with chaos and danger, this silence feels like peace.
• She always grabs his sleeve in her sleep.
Right when Leon thinks he can stand up quietly
He sits back down immediately.
• If Leon gets home late, she still wants bedtime.
Even if it’s way past when she should be asleep.
The moment she hears the front door:
Leon’s boots barely hit the floor before she’s sprinting down the hallway in mismatched pajamas.
He will still do the full bedtime routine no matter how exhausted he is.
• She likes when he hums while tucking her in.
Leon doesn’t realize he does it.
It’s just something quiet and low while he fixes the blankets.
Eventually it becomes her cue that bedtime is really happening.
• Some nights she asks the hard questions.
“Why do you work so much?”
“So I can keep the world safe for you.”
She usually nods like that makes perfect sense.
“Can we make pancakes tomorrow?”
• Leon always does the final check before leaving the room.
Even though she’s already asleep.
• The last thing she says every night is always the same.
Even if she’s half asleep.
Leon always answers the same way.
