I don't have the time to read the super long ones just yet, but I would still like to read something.
Angsty but happy ending please.
The Electric Fizzing Prick Pistols, or Whatever (by whitmans_kiss) -
Everyone is born with Words on their arm that connect them to their Soulmate. James finds his, Sirius had everything figured out back in First Year, Peter doesn’t talk to girls anyway, and Remus thinks he’d very much just like to put his earmuffs back on and disappear.
Wolfstar, background Jily, 3,816 words.
Three's Family (by darkbluedark) -
It’s May 1979 and the Order has just apprehended a pair of mysterious wizards who look remarkably like a Potter and a Malfoy. Naturally, James Potter and Sirius Black are called in to identify the strangely familiar strangers and determine their backgrounds and loyalties.
(This would be a lot easier if their captives weren’t convinced everyone they talk to is dead. It would also be easier if they didn’t spend half their bloody time bickering.)
“Just ask them questions only they would know the answer to,” Malfoy suggests.
“There’s not a single thing that I know about either of them from the first war that any old Death Eater couldn’t find out.”
“How is that possible?” Malfoy huffs. “He’s your father!”
“Am I or am I not famously an orphan?” Potter snarls.
Jily, background Wolfstar, 19,328 words.
remedy for sleep (by hiddenmoonbeam) -
Padfoot makes joy and happiness grow, and horrible memories fade. He doesn’t feel stress the same way or for the same things. He loves easily, without the crippling doubt and second-guessing of a human taught he isn’t good enough. The yearning is simpler; he knows the wolf’s both forms are special to him, in a different way than the stag and the rat are, and is happy just to be close to him. And sure, sometimes the fear is too strong, but when told he matters, when hugged and petted and held in the warmth of a loving embrace, he believes it.
There are no hugs or pets today. No words of comfort, or soft smiles. Only pale, bloodstained skin and the barely noticeable rise and fall of the chest beneath his head.
Remus is badly hurt after the full moon. A worried Sirius refuses to leave his side.
At Long Last, Love Has Arrived (by Yankingthechain) -
“I think,” James said, lying with his head tipped off the edge of the bed. He was tossing a snitch up and down, and still managing to stare at Sirius over the rim of his glasses, “You should tell him.”
Sirius scowled, “I think,” He said, pausing to mock him, “You should kill yourself.”

Or it's Valentine's Day, and James decides to play schoolwide matchmaker.
i'd rather die than have to cry in front of you by (Moony (adashofinspiration)) -
“I can’t imagine him ever liking anyone else.”
The words echoed through his mind like a gong, loud and disruptive and never allowing for peace. Just when he had begun to hope… Merlin, it hurted. It hurt so bad. If he’d known, he’d have never allowed himself to fall in love in the first place.
What? Who? Why?

After Regulus learns of James' long lasting love for Lily at a Gryffindor party, he leaves in a flash, retreating to go deal with his heart being broken in peace. Little did he know, someone else followed him down into the dungeons...
Let them see (by Lovely_snake1994) -
“You always say you’re sorry, and yet— here you are choosing them and screwing me over once again.” Regulus hisses. James can handle many things, he can deal with the angry voice, the unforgiving words, but never the hurt in his eyes. He can’t bear with the knowledge that he was to blame for it.
“Darling, I’m not choosing them—” Regulus cut him off heatedly. “Yes, James, that’s exactly what you’re doing.”
I'd kill for an autograph (by SeaingStars) -
Evan Rosier, a bestselling author of murder mysteries, discovers that his most devoted fan, Barty Crouch Jr., is recreating the grisly murders from his novels in real life. As the copycat killings escalate, Evan grows paranoid and suspects Barty might be the culprit. Unable to involve the authorities due to lack of evidence, Evan decides to write a new book where the protagonist, a character who mirrors Evan in every way, is killed. Evan hopes to lure Barty into a trap and catch him red-handed, but Barty may outplot him. All he knows is that if he doesn't act fast, the rest of the city may be killed off.
Barty is stalking writer Evan, analyzing his work and pulling off replicas of the murders described in his books.

The boys of Gryffindor are not strangers to the turbulence of teenage emotions.
Wolfstar, Jegulus, 5,379 words.
The Way He Loves (by comfycouch)
Barty doesn’t think anything of it at first. Dorcas always tells him how obsessive, possessive, and impulsive he is, and though she never means it as a compliment, Barty always takes it as one. It’s just the way he is.
So Barty doesn’t think anything of it when he impulsively climbs into Evan’s bed, possessively wraps an arm around him, and obsessively asks, “You love me, right?”

heaven and back (by goodbyeangels) -
“We broke up.” Regulus shrugs.
“Oh, thank Merlin.” James blurts out and it takes a couple of seconds for him to register he’s done it. “In the sense that…”
The first to laugh is Lily. She just snorts right next to him and doubles over with a hysterical laugh. Remus accompanies from behind Sirius, then Marlene, then everybody is cackling except for James, Regulus and Sirius.
“Do go on.” Sirius prompts, raising his eyebrows. “I’m listening.”
Or: james accidentally says something he shouldn’t have and ends up in 7 minutes in heaven with regulus.

Hey Dorcas (by moonymoment) -
Halfway through, her hand slips and she accidentally gets blue glitter spray on Marlene’s headboard. It won’t come off, no matter how much they scrub it. Dorcas takes her wand out to perform a Scourgify, but Marlene gently pushes her hand away and says to leave it.
It’s like a little piece of you in our room at all times, she says.
Dorcas’s heart skips a beat.
