just a fandom blog, art & writing mostly | miraculous, chihayafuru, fma and more! | art tagged as #helstoneart-2 | writing tagged as #margaretwrites ^^ | call me gee! | https://ko-fi.com/margaret_helstone
I’m happy to announce that I’m re-opening my commissions (again...!), with re-assessed pricing and more recent works to show you what my art really looks like these days.
all the details and prices in the text form under the cut! :)
some rules:
Commissioning process. There are few steps I’d like to follow as a rule. First, you send your request, preferably by a PM. I reply and and tell whether i accept it/how much you’d need to wait etc, and then we figure out the details. I draw you a rough sketch and send you a screen shot for you to approve of. When that’s done, I’ll ask you to go to make the paymant via ko-fi or paypal. I’ll continue with the drawing afterwards, updating you regularly. By default your art will be uploaded on Google Drive and you'll receive a link, unless for some reason you'd rather get that via e-mail.
Since I'd like to be able to share my art with my followers, please let me know if you want to post it, so that I can re-blog it; if you don't want to post it on your blog, please keep in mind that I'll do it on mine.
Fandoms! My favourite ones include Chihayafuru, MLB, FMA, ATLA… But you can be sure there’s more. You can find some in the tags, or in my blog in general - with others, just ask and confirm - there’s a big chance I at least know of it :)
OCs: Yes, I’m very willing to draw them! Please mind I’m only experienced with drawing humans, so animals, furries, mechas etc. are a no for me (and you wouldn’t like the results anyway)
Extra characters: You may ask to up to 3 characters in a single commission. The price for the 2nd character will vary - if it's a two-people pose (dancing, hugging, etc.), then the price for the 2nd character is 50% the usual; if it's two characters standing on their own next to each other, I'll charge 75% for the second one. Third character is always 50%.
Please remember that I can always refuse a commission. It may be because I’m not experienced enough or because I don’t feel comfortable with some. But remember: if in doubt, just ask ;)
PSSST! If your first currency isn't USD but euro, please let me know! We can figure out the prices without you having to convert for USD on pay-pal (which doesn't pay off to anyone).
so I commissioned a little anniversary gift for my boyfriend from @margarethelstone-2 (this is my second commission from her and definitely not my last one because she draws so pretty) and with her permission I wanted to post so everyone could appreciate it.
the reference pictures + the final product below ;D
had a pleasure drawing for astrid again! It's been a while since I did commission work (or much drawing in general) but that makes me all the happier for this chance 😄
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Seriously, this is a tumblr-killer feature. This breaks the most fundamental way tumblr is different from any other social network. This makes tumblr just another blueskytwitterthreads. Or worse: An unfederated mastodon clone.
Please, mutuals, post about this, comment and reblog the original post (while you still can without making it your own quote-post). I don't know if staff is looking or if the feedback would matter, but seriously, this is a terrible change that would kill tumblr as we know it. Please, don't roll it out.
look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.
But this. This changes the data architecture. This changes the SINGLE THING that makes tumblr the "... yes and" website. This KILLS THE COLLABORATIVE POSTING THAT MAKES THIS SITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER MEDIA PLATFORMS.
if you want to leave official feedback on this, go to tumblr.com/support and select the dropdown feature of "feedback," let them know exactly how we feel about this
my favorite bollywood movie is 3 idiots and my favorite romantic bollywood film is jab we met. and I’ve shown tons of my non desi friends 3 idiots but jab we met is so much harder to show because the romance itself feels cultural. not just lost in translation, but the feelings. the scene where they’re walking towards each other in the field and aditya is speaking punjabi, the scene in the bus when they’re talking, even just the look he gives her before nagada. i cannot articulate what these moments feel like in english, only that they set the standard of love and flirtation for me. anyways. how’s your day going.
My little cousin just watched the Rise of the Guardian for the first time in her 11 years of existence - I'm glad she liked - but now, she got so excited about the characters, that she went into a rabbit hole, therefore, discovering Jelsa. Now, as the responsible grow up that I am, I explained to her how this ship came to exist - and how old I felt bc I enjoyed this ship when I was her age - and the snowball that ensued.
Of course, I also showed her The Big Four. Now I want to see how the story will play out...

Hi there! Just wanted to let you guys know that coming July (or even a little sooner) I'll have plenty more time to draw for you, so if you'd like to commission something - now is the time to think about it! ^^
She didn’t long for the old days, when her mother was gone and her father slowly losing his grasp on reality. She didn’t care for the memories of him becoming increasingly more bitter, nor did she want to revisit the many moments in which he seemed to care more for his alchemy and his research than he did for his own, lonely daughter.
She didn’t exactly feel like remembering his progressing illness, either.
Riza Hawkeye was satisfied with her adult life, even if it was far from dreamy, or cheerful, or even calm. It was filled with never-ending work and focus, requiring her to stay alert at all times, and not only in the instances of national security crises - but even then, it was something she had chosen for herself, knowing full-well what her career entailed. She had a team of allies she could rely on, who also trusted her entirely on their part. She was good at her job, too, better than most, in fact; and that hardly was meaningless to her, no matter the recognition she might (or might not) get.
What was also not completely without meaning was the fact that she had a very particular colonel to look after, too.
Still, there were things she did miss. They were small things, unimportant things; trifles, really. The sound of birds that would wake up not long before her and then wake her up, but could obviously not do the same in any of the big cities she had been stationed in. The smell of freshly cut grass, or even more so, that of hay. The noises and shouts of haymaking, which she could only really see if she had ventured far enough into the fields, away from the hollow, dreary house which had long stopped being a home.
The scent and sight of wildflowers on the meadows, and the same wildflowers, not so neatly put in a glass, brought to her as a surprise by a certain alchemy apprentice a few times.
Oh, well. Maybe not all of her childhood was unworthy of remembering.
Smiling, Riza Hawkeye stood up. She was more than ready to follow the order that had called her out of the room, like she always had and like she always would. To hell and back, if necessary - into the storms and into the flames.
And when she came back, there would be fresh wildflowers on her desk.
