some other colors for you all to pick your poison
I want trees instead of gravestones, nothing to confess I got a soft spot for your ancient books of horror stories
I got a music in my ear from long, long, ago and far, far away And I still hum it’s tune, how could I ever believe every word it says to me? We follow our own steps, while our shadows keep watching us The wrong step would be not to start this exodus
More paintings to music! a step by step process of this will be available at my patreon on november 1st 😊

Astarion's Tent
Has anyone paid attention to how Astarion's tent reflect on his personality?
The exteriour side is clean and elegant. There are pillows, a carpet, an expensive mirror, even a fucking plant (headcanon - Astarion is into gardening). His tent is probably the most well-maintained in the whole camp.
But take a look inside (it's difficult since he blocks the entrance) - it's a mess.
There are empty bottles with blood (as if he is an alcoholic who doesn't bother to take out the garbage). There is no bed (Halsin is also an Elf but he has a bedrol in his tent) - it's just wooden plank, a piece of rag for a blanket and some sorry excuse for a pillow. His tent is a mess like this room who belongs to an addict or a depressed person. It's dirty, full of garbage. And he doesn't have a comfortable place for sleep!
All the good things (new and clean) he has are put out in the front to others to see. When people pass by they see this beautiful picture of a gedonist-magistrate who wants everything to be in order. Dare to look inside - it's a completely different picture.
I'm pretty sure this 'rag' holds a deeper meaning to him.
In act 3, if you move your camp to the Elfsong tavern (where you can have an actual bed) you can see the same blanket thrown over his bed. He has a comfortable bed with silky sheets. He doesn't need that old blanket, but he still keeps it around for a reason.
When you go to cazador's palace in the spawns dormitory, there are beds with this same type of blanket. One of the beds (middle bottom) is where we could assume he slept, because it's the only bed that has no blanket. He's left with it.
It's probably one of the very few things that he really owns, so he holds on to it and cherishes for as long as he can.
That blanket was the only thing that brought him comfort when he was in pain.
quick messy cole paint
his cards ingame were too pretty i had to do something with it
Loki's Dream
[ work in progress detail ]
I am nothing if not embarrassingly predictable. Can we pretend that I'm just a very forgiving, empathic, and patient person? And the way that all my favorite characters are… nothing but wholesome and respectable people gives you no reason to question my judgement?
And yes I can be convinced to draw more stuff with these characters for Patreon and society6 at the drop of a hat.
With Winnie-the-Pooh and The Battle of Hastings sharing an anniversary today, did you know that E. H. Shepard once drew this amazing scene for an exclusive book bag?
I love that none of them have weapons. Except Kanga, who has a fucking morningstar.
that is roo
I’m all scratched up and I can still taste spray paint in my mouth and my husband almost fell out of a tree BUT THE GHOST SCULPTURES ARE FINISHED!
They’re finally finished and I’m so happy with them!!
Some progress shots:
Wow!!!
Best trick I ever picked up. Seriously.
I have also learned this is great for [PICK A COOL NAME FOR A SHIP] and [LOOK UP THE FACTS ABOUT OXYGEN LEVELS] and [WHAT’S THE WORD] and [DOUBLECHECK CHARACTER’S EYE COLOR] and ALL KINDS OF THINGS.
Anything that isn’t critical in the moment, and could be filled in later while I’m currently trying to burn through writing pages that will be lost if I don’t get them out right now? Brackets.
This is seriously the best advice, and it really helps put it into perspective that the first draft is just that- a draft. There’s no reason to agonize over a particularly tricky bit of writing when you could just leave it in brackets and skip to the good parts, the parts you’ve visualized. I also use brackets for [fact-check this], [use a stronger verb], [is this in character?] and other notes as I write, just so I don’t forget what I want to work on when I go back and edit.
Note the good sense of [brackets] not (parentheses).
Parentheses AKA round brackets can appear in fiction, usually as an afterthought in a character's thoughts or narration (as I saw them used just recently), but square brackets hardly ever do.
