I think there's a great chance the existence of mirrors/reflective surfaces silently fucks Rocky up.

Like, Grace is in the bathroom, shaving, the curtain pulled to the side and suddenly he stops and says "stop touching my stuff". Rocky, frozen, somewhere behind him, can't fathom how Grace sensed that. He was so quiet. The razor is so loud. Grace's still facing away from him. What the fuck.

Imagine: there is no one in the universe that understands Rocky better than Grace, after all the years he spend alone slowly going crazy, Grace was the light at the end of the tunnel. Even if polyamory is accepted on Erid, Rocky doesn't think he could ever go back to the way things were with Adrian.

Rocky gets to Erid fully prepared to serve Adrian divorce papers.

But when he does, he finds out Adrian already passed away during the astrophage crisis.

He feels bad with how relieved he feels, because now he doesn't have to worry about the whole infidelity thing or trying to justify how much time he spends with Grace over his family.

After all, with Adrian dead, no one can blame him for spending all his time making sure his best friend lives. Of course he doesn't want to join the rest of society yet, he's mourning his mate!
