All fantasy authors wish they had a bigger bathtub in their house. You can tell by every bathing scene ever written into a fantasy novel
Watching The Vampire Lestat finale and The Backrooms back to back was weird. Two really different ways of seeing and portraying and thinking about failure and what it means

There is something so profound about how necro cav relationships are meant to make the necromancer stronger and lead to the cavalier's inevitable demise upon reaching lyctorhood, but every lyctor we ever meet regards the loss of their cavaliers with maddened despair and it inevitably leads to every betrayal against god. The thorn in the side of John's empire is that he can't take loved away and all of his creatures will turn on him for making them try.
Ianthe is the only exception but only because she never truly had a cavalier. She has a sister and she will rather starve herself into an undying death until the sun burn out than eat her sister. The greatest necromancer from the house of gold and greed refuses to do that.
I am not even going to try unravelling the Sixth, that's THE can of worms to ever worm of cans. They saw the stages of grief and said "no, we're going heresy any lysis instead".
the idea that every summer will be as hot if not hotter than this for the rest of my life is unbearable i need to (remembers suicide jokes are bad for my mental health) murder an oil executive
y’all ever doing okay and then you remember how griddlehark “grew up in each other’s pockets”. spent their entire childhoods messing with each other because they had no one else. their hatred so complete it was a form of love. btw. if you even care.

After rewatching Interview with the Vampire I’m now an Armand stan. Can I defend anything he does in that show? Absolutely not. I don’t understand any of the choices he makes. Nevertheless his swoopy hair and terrible vibes have captivated me
Assad is my favorite jumpscare.

repeat after me: just because media challenges your expectations doesn't mean its bad. Just because you have to think about text and subtext to understand it doesn't mean its bad. Just because a piece of art makes sense in the allegorical realm doesn't mean its bad. Just because art demands your participation in the creation of meaning doesn't mean its bad. Just because there are different layers of meaning that could be simultaneously true doesn't mean its bad. It's okay if you feel uncomfortable and unsettled. That's the point of serious art.
And I can't believe I'm saying this about the fucking gay vampire show
It's been a while since I've picked up paint
