Scaling things down (1:6) I've begun an exercise in small scale mock-ups enabling me to brainstorm and realize new light compositions/sculptures faster and more effectively.
Exploring small joinery and miter cutting with the laser cutter in preparation for scale models
First silicone casts of the bulb cap at 1.4" inner dia. Considering a larger diameter to reduce exterior form deflection. This would decrease the amount of grip on the bulb, but would look better and more intentional.

A new project exploring electrical wire as an architectural component of the built environment. How might an electrical wire become a more accessible, approachable, and intentional object within built spaces? There is a duality with electrical wires in many homes: the ones behind the wall (rigid, hidden, not intended for human contact) and the ones that plug into the wall (squiggly, spontaneous, unplanned, often cluttered or out of place). I'm curious if there are other ways to experience electrical wires in the domestic/built environment that go further to consider the space (visual & physical) electrical wires occupy. One idea (above) is a pin-able, nail-able, and screw-able electrical wire.
