hereโs a few, though i dont have much for them as of this momentโฆ.
-the vorgrimlers are a pureblood family originating from germany. they have branches in austria, the netherlands, england, and france.
-a decent portion of them left germany to live in england around the 1860s, but continued to ally themselves with other german purebloods within their communities.
-trademark physical attributes such as blond hair and blue eyes, though some members are noted to have inherited a rare hue of violet in their irises.
-anyone born with violet eyes is said to be cursed with an ill-fated life which usually leads them to die in a violent or tragic way.
-often dabbled in a more gothic style of attire, but it allowed them to carry themselves with a dark, mysterious elegance.
-the family didnโt associate themselves with grindelwald because of their old conservative values. they feared that heโd expose the wizarding world through his reckless actions.
Iโll add more later in a separate post but im kinda tired rn.
the thing about being an oc creator in this fandom is that you always find yourself engaging in little side projects instead of working on whatever it is you were supposed to get done weeks ago.
this tree focuses on the descendants of Charlus and Doreaโs branch, which currently just includes their children. There may be more additions to the illustration later on, but we didnโt have enough room to fit everyone.
The names of Violetta Bulstrodeโs parents are placeholders since we are unsure if we want to keep them as they are.

Iolanthe Svantje Potter (b. 20 January 1956 - d. 14 October 1978) was the only daughter and second-born child of Dorea Black and Charlus Potter. She had been the younger sister of Marius, who was named after their estranged maternal uncle. In her early twenties, Iolanthe joined the Order of the Phoenix alongside younger her cousin, James Potter.
Within the late sixties, Iolanthe enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she was sorted into Slytherin House, following in her motherโs footsteps. It was rare for members of the Potter family to be sorted into Slytherin, as most had traditionally been placed in Gryffindor. This distinction set Iolanthe apart from her family, which made her feel somewhat outcasted and insecure.
Iolanthe died unmarried and childless at the age of twenty-two after being killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, her first cousin once removed.
Ophielle Dorea Black (b. 5 January 1952 โ d. 28 December 1996) was a pureblood witch and the adoptive daughter of Alphard Black. There was some speculation that she may have been a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, though such rumors were never confirmed.
Alphard Black claimed Ophielle as his biological daughter, though she was never fully accepted by the House of Black, as many relatives believed her to be illegitimate. While Alphard remained unwavering in his insistence that she carried Black blood, the secrecy surrounding her birth and the absence of a publicly acknowledged mother fueled endless speculation among the family and wider pure-blood society.
Ophielle was known for her striking intelligence, reserved demeanor, and unusual presence, often described by others as both elegant and unsettling. From a young age, she displayed exceptional magical ability, particularly in disciplines involving ancient magic, defensive enchantments, and Legilimency. Though outwardly composed and refined, there was an intensity to Ophielle that many found difficult to ignore, as though she possessed a constant awareness of things left unspoken around her.
Sirius Black (II) (b. 1877 - d. 1952) was the eldest son of Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint. Born into the ancient and fiercely proud House of Black, Sirius was raised amidst the rigid expectations of blood purity, political influence, and unwavering family loyalty that defined his lineage. Though intelligent and charismatic in his youth, he quickly developed the cold arrogance and ruthless temperament that many associated with the Blacks of his generation.
As the eldest son, Sirius was groomed from childhood to uphold the prestige of the family name and to preserve its standing within pure-blood society. He inherited much of his fatherโs stern disposition and conservative ideology, often aligning himself with the more elitist circles of wizarding Britain. From an early age, he was taught that the Black family stood above nearly all others, and he carried this belief with an almost religious devotion throughout his life. Sirius valued reputation, lineage, and control above sentiment, becoming a man who viewed compassion as weakness and public disgrace as unforgivable.
Though respected among traditionalists, he was regarded by others as severe, prideful, and emotionally distant, even within his own household. Despite his coldness, Sirius believed wholeheartedly that his actions were necessary for the preservation of the familyโs legacy. He viewed affection as secondary to duty and considered personal sacrifice an unavoidable burden of noble blood. To him, the House of Black was not simply a family but an institution that demanded loyalty above individual desire.
Phineas Black (b. 1878 - d. 1959) was the second-born son of Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint. Regarded as his mother's favorite child, it was said that Phineas inherited the Flint family's sharp tongue, prideful temperament, and talent for subtle manipulation more strongly than any of his siblings. While his elder brother embodied the rigid authority of the Black family, Phineas possessed a far more socially adept and charismatic nature, making him exceptionally skilled at navigating the complex web of pure-blood society.
He displayed an uncanny ability to charm those around him while concealing a deeply analyzing mind beneath an elegant and composed exterior. He was known for his wit and refinement, often becoming the center of attention at social gatherings hosted by his family. With that said, although Phineas was second in line to inherit the title of Lord Black, he was still widely regarded by many within pure-blood society as the more personable and approachable of the two brothers.
In 1899, Phineas fell in love with a Muggleborn witch and secretly began working to support Muggle rights, a decision that stood in direct opposition to nearly everything he had been taught throughout his upbringing. What began as fascination slowly transformed into genuine affection, forcing Phineas to confront beliefs he had once accepted without question. Through her, he was exposed to perspectives far removed from the insular world of old pure-blood families, and for the first time in his life, he began to see the cruelty and hypocrisy woven into the ideals of blood supremacy.
Arcturus Black (II) (b. 1884 - d. 1959) was the third-born son of Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint. His birth proved to be difficult, as he had been born alongside his twin sister, who was stillborn. Ursula saw her third boy as a miracle child, for healers had reportedly feared that neither infant would survive the ordeal. Arcturusโ survival in the aftermath of such a traumatic birth was regarded by his mother as nothing short of providential, and from that moment onward she became fiercely protective of him in a way she was not with her other children. Arcturus was often compared to his maternal aunt, Armelle, who he was said to have shared a resemblance with.
Though raised within the same strict expectations as the rest of the House of Black, Arcturus experienced a quieter and more attentive upbringing under Ursulaโs watchful eye. His motherโs affection softened certain aspects of his childhood, fostering within him a calmer and more contemplative temperament than that of his elder brothers. While Sirius embodied authority and Phineas charm, Arcturus became known for his introspective nature and unusual sensitivity for a man born into one of wizarding Britainโs proudest pure-blood families.
Arcturus had a rather diplomatic disposition and became an Auror, a career path that surprised many within the House of Black. While the position carried prestige, it also required cooperation with a wide range of witches and wizards regardless of blood status, something several of his more traditional relatives viewed with disapproval. Nevertheless, Arcturus excelled within the Ministry, earning recognition for his intelligence, composure under pressure, and remarkable ability to de-escalate volatile situations without unnecessary violence.
Belvina Burke (nรฉe Black) (b. 1886 - d. 1962) was the only live-born daughter and fourth-born child of Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint. As the sole daughter to survive infancy, Belvina occupied a unique and carefully guarded position within the House of Black, adored by certain members of her family while simultaneously burdened by the immense expectations placed upon her as a representative of the familyโs prestige. From an early age, she was raised to embody the refinement, elegance, and social superiority expected of a pure-blood witch of noble standing.
Mistress Black was pressured by her father from a young age to make a favorable impression on prospective suitors, as her marriage was viewed not simply as a personal matter, but as an opportunity to strengthen the influence and reputation of the House of Black. Great care was placed into her upbringing, from her education and etiquette to the way she spoke, dressed, and carried herself in public. She was expected to embody the refinement of her family perfectly, serving as a living reflection of Black prestige within elite pure-blood society.
Despite the expectations put onto Belvina by her parents, she struggled to preserve the mask her family had carefully crafted for her. The witch gradually turned to alcohol as a means of coping with the relentless pressure and emotional isolation that defined much of her adult life. What began as quiet indulgence during private evenings and social functions slowly developed into a dependency hidden beneath elegance, expensive crystal glasses, and carefully maintained composure.
Cygnus Black (II) (b. 1889 - d. 1943) was the youngest son of Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint. As the last son born to his father, Cygnus was overlooked and undervalued within the household, growing up in the shadow of elder brothers who had already secured distinct roles and expectations within the family. Unlike Siriusโ authority, Phineasโ charm, or Arcturusโ intellect, Cygnus struggled throughout his youth to establish an identity that felt truly his own.
The young Master Black possessed a volatile and passionate temperament that frequently placed him at odds with members of his family. Though intelligent in his own right, he lacked the restraint and diplomacy of some of his siblings, often acting impulsively when driven by emotion or pride. He developed a reputation for being unpredictable โ capable of great charm and humor one moment, only to become cold, bitter, or confrontational the next.
He was regarded as difficult to manage, though others quietly recognized that much of his behavior stemmed from years spent feeling insignificant within his own family. His elder brothers deemed him an annoyance, a nuisance whose impulsive behavior and constant need for attention disrupted the dignity and order they believed the House of Black should uphold. Cygnus was often viewed as immature, emotionally reactive, and unnecessarily rebellious, particularly during his younger years.
Thank you to @harbinger-0f-spring for helping me find images for these aesthetics.
Also, I am very appreciative of @theblackswan-and-thewhiterose for helping me write some of these biographies.
hi! so I had a few questions!! but I didn't know who to go to between you and @evgeniawrites since I believe you're both co-creators??
the questions are about your oc ophielle! is that ok? I don't want to bother you cuz you're probably busy. do not feel pressured to answer these right away or at all for that matter.
anyways, here are the questions:
what was her relationship like with marius?
was she acknowledged by the black family?
who were her biological parents? (can you reveal this?? if not its ok lol)
what is her patronus?
can she speak parseltongue? (because in the post you've made for her it is stated that she was a possible descendant of slytherin)
did she have a relationship with the potters? like dorea and such.
lastly, was ophielle a member of the order?
again, you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to.
Hello! OMG thanks so much for this ask, you're amazing ๐ don't worry about being a bother!! I find myself with a bit of spare time to answer your questions (which I LOVE btw), so I am very excited to share a little bit more about Ophielle.
In the future, you can always go to either me or @evgeniawrites with your questions. In fact, Ev might answer you quicker than I do (so try your luck with her first next time ๐).
Here are a few answers to your questions:
marius was practically an adoptive grandfather for ophielle growing up. he was quick to accept her as part of his family, never questioning alphard when he came to his uncle's doorstep with a baby swaddled in his arms. it was never revealed whether or not alphard was ophielle's biological father or not, but marius didn't care to ask. alphard did not ever expect himself to become a father - in fact, he was rather unprepared for it. when ophielle made a quite unexpected appearance in his life, he didn't know whether or not he'd be a good parent for her. of course alphard proved himself wrong tho (obviously ๐ because who could be a better father than papa alphie???). marius needed to reassure his nephew that he would be a good father to ophielle than pollux was to him. throughout ophielle's childhood, marius (& alphard) strove to create an atmosphere of acceptance within the household, teaching his grandbaby to not lose herself in the racist ideologies of their relatives.
pollux and irma are aware of ophielle's existence. as far as they know, she is alphard's biological daughter, but since she's illegitimate they can't officially accept her into the family. although it doesn't really matter to alphard, ophielle is pure-blood, and so his parents aren't as harsh with her as they would've been if she wasn't pure. they've met her a couple times, but their visits happened before alphard was disowned. after the estrangement, ophielle didn't see her grandparents as much. there was a time when walburga desired to take her niece away from alphard, claiming that he "wasn't fit to be a parent" and that the child was better off being raised in a "proper pure-blood household".
I can't say who ophielle's parents are... sorry. but alphard was very close to her father, and it was him who gave ophielle to black.
ophielle's patronus is a hippogriff (which is a magical creature connected to her biological mother).
if she was a descendant of salazar slytherin, she's never made an attempt to speak parseltongue. I don't think ophielle is aware that she might be slytherin's descendant, anyway.
ophielle's closest extended family were probably the potters, yes. dorea was her godmother, actually. in fact, ophielle's middle name was given to her in honor of her aunt, so yeah, they're close.
no. ophielle wasn't a member of the order, but she's offered support towards their cause.
I hope these answers satisfy your curiosity!! I'm here to answer any other questions you may have, so feel free to submit something into my ask box.
Tisander Ophioneus Carrow was a loyal follower of Tom Riddle during their shared years at Hogwarts. Alongside his second cousins Narkissos and Liriope Carrow, Tisander served the Dark Lord faithfully, embracing the rising ideology of blood supremacy and lending his cunning, influence, and unwavering devotion to the growing circle that would one day become the first Death Eaters.
He was a man with a twisted mind, incapable of feeling any sort of genuine emotion beyond cruel amusement and obsessive ambition, regarding compassion as a weakness meant only for lesser beings. His presence was unnervingly hollow โ calm and refined on the surface, yet hiding a cold brutality that surfaced without warning. There had never been a time where Tisander felt remorse for any of the atrocities he committed, finding enjoyment in "purifying" the magical world of the filthy vermin that were scattered across the wizarding community.
In 1953, Tisander's half-brother had gifted him Eurypyle Carrow, his niece โ who was a year his senior. The two married, though Carrow didn't express much interest in his bride, which was good in a sense as it spared Eurypyle from having to visit the marital bed often. Not long after their union was made official, Tisander became the father of Amycus and Alecto Carrow, who both inherited his diseased mind.
Later in life, Carrow was suspected of having played a leading role in the death of his wife. In truth, Tisander was not the one who killed Eurypyle, though the identity of her murderer was never uncovered. Three years after her death, in 1975, Tisander himself was found dead in his study by a house-elf, poisoned by a substance that had been slipped into his drink.
Narkissos and Liriope Carrow are original characters of @evgeniawrites and @mars-and-theknights.
Ophielle Dorea Black (b. 5 January 1942 โ d. 28 December 1996) was a pureblood witch and the adoptive daughter of Marius Black. There was some speculation that she a may have been a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, but these rumors were never confirmed.
