Eli still wasnāt too sure what was going on, he still remembered bad things happening on his home planet. The loss of his parents was still strong, and now he was dealing with the loss of others who had been kind to him - who had saved and rescued him. The crash of the ship had caused deaths - but Eli was still alive. A little bruised and battered - but he was alive. The sole survivor from the smuggler ship.Ā
But after crawling from the wreckage and stumbling away, scared and lost he had spotted people. Humans. They had come closer after seeing the crash. They had just been average humans - a few children among them. They were unknown - a possible threat. So he hid and moved back towards the ship in fear. But when he got closer - others had appeared, these ones were different from the others he had spotted. They had weapons and seemed to know more about the ship. And worse - they had seen him in his normal form. The childs mind quickly decided it was safer not to look like himself. Ā So Eli had shifted - quickly appearing like another human child as he tried to hide.
It didnāt work too well, but he didnāt go without a bit of a fight. His fear making him want to hide or run and before he knew it, he was taken to a strange place. He refused to speak - he understood a lot of what was being said, his language lessons coming in use - although refusing to speak seemed to make these strange people believe he couldnāt understand, and from what he had heard - they had sent for another to try and speak with him.
He had been hiding, simply curled up in a corner - a blanket wrapped around him - almost hiding his body completely except for his head and his newly acquired head of hair. He was scared, nothing here was like anything he knew. He wasnāt locked up - he wasnāt harmed - but he was kept in a room and those doors soon opened, a woman walking in - looking very much like the other humans he had spotted. Unlike the others though - this woman spoke calmer, her smile warm as she spoke. This person did something the others hadnāt yet done when speaking with him, giving her own name as she sat at the small table.Ā
Eli remained quiet, but slowly peered at her - blue eyes curious as he tugged the blanket closer to him,Ā āIām Eli.ā His voice was barely above a whisper. It was the most he had spoken since he had been found.
Olivia was glad she left the guards outside, the boy was scared enough, he didnāt need to see anymore men with guns.Ā āItās nice to meet you Eliā she said, keeping her voice soft and calm. The last thing he needed was someone being upset or uneasy around him. It wasnāt clear to her if what she was told was true, the only thing that was clear was the state of the poor boy.Ā
She didnāt close the gap between them, someone in his space wasnāt a good thing. Olivia knew if he wanted her to be near him heād either ask or come to her. She hadnāt wanted any contact with anyone the day she arrived on earth and she hadnāt crashed or lost the crew that was helping her. āDo you understand what Iām saying?ā she asked, she was curious if Eli understood english.Ā
