I will defend low-quality queer media if only because non-queer people get to make shitty low-quality media all the time and nobody gives a shit.
Queer people deserve to make shitty art as much as anyone else, god damn it. We've been censored for so goddamn long and I'm tired of every piece of queer media needing to be the height of representation and art and quality.
Queer media won't have achieved true equality with straight media until queer people can make garbage in peace.

realizing cis women also struggle with “passing” a lot of times and has a lot of the same issues with dysphoria trans women have (issues with putting on/losing weight, dissatisfied with bust size, not feeling “feminine” enough, etc.) has done a lot to combat dysphoria for me, cause it’s like, wow, we really have a lot more in common than we have in difference huh
terfs are starting to find this post, and i gotta say: terfs getting mad at a post that explicitly acknowledges cis women’s struggles and with notes full of cis women agreeing and talking about their own struggles and experiences really speaks volumes about how anti-feminist, and frankly misogynistic, terfs really are, that they don’t even give a shit about cis women’s struggles and experiences
I’m a cis woman, but if I had a nickel for every time I was deliberately misgendered, I’d be fully funded for all the therapy I need!
Even before I hit puberty and my wonky hormones became a factor, I spent a LOT of time being called things like man-lady and he-she by bullies.
As an adult managing PCOS, I’ve spent a lot of time on research and doctor’s appointments for the same medications/procedures that many trans women also undergo. The fear of not being feminine enough is one of the most depressingly common and relatable experiences of womanhood, regardless of assigned gender.
I have far more in common with trans women than I do any cis woman who is so lacking in self-awareness that she believes parroting those same grade school insults counts as feminism.
i love tumblr because sometimes i get an urge to rb posts about something nobody likes and everyone just politely ignores me. everyone's like oh he's fallen into madness again, he'll be fine later i guess
i really love this more than anything
Trans women 🤝 trans men solidarity dates back as long as trans people have existed. Anyone saying otherwise is dead wrong.

ok fine then do interact: eldest siblings, people who read 3 books at a time, homebodies, shortbread lovers, double virgos, bitches with acid reflux, cardigan wearers, former weird little girls who fervently believed in faries and left out offerings for them, car haters, public transit lovers, david lynch fans, hiking lesbians, those who leave their clean laundry folded in the basket for upwards of three days, horror fans who get really easily scared by small noises in real life, 80s music guys, people who go grocery shopping for fun, glasses wearers, girls who identify with franz kafka's diary entries just a bit too much, broccoli enjoyers, girls who can't dress, and of course, short kings.

“Girls gays and theys” <- uninclusive while trying to be inclusive. Bad. Makes me uncomfortable.
“Ladies, gentlemen, and other distinguished guests” <- inclusive but far, far too formal
“Alrighty gamers” <- Incisive of everyone, informal, and fun to say.
“Everypony” <== pisses everyone off. flawless
Thwaites Brewery in England told workers it was cutting 60 staff. My dad’s mates worked as electricians there and shorted the lights in retaliation…
