the commentators talking about an interview seb gave before raceweek in valencia 2012, about how he saw a black cat on the way from his house to the airport and how the cat didn't cross his way otherwise he would have to make a detour, and saying he hoped that didn't mean anything bad for the weekend
bashes head against wall with increasing vigour
what gets me so bad about martian is that they were literally fine before things got nasty in 2010. they werenโt best friends, but it was clear that they supported each other and had respect for one another and liked each other as people! seb, local comedian, appreciated markโs sense of humour! mark shared that! even going so far as to say that had the competitiveness not been there, he and seb wouldโve gotten on like a house on fire!!
itโs not to the same extent as lewis and nico (and maybe thatโs for the better) but when all that shit happened in 2010, right. i cannot stop thinking about the sense of betrayal. i knew we were competitors but i didnโt think youโd cross the professional line and make this a personal fightโon both ends?! and the way they both denied that they had any relationship at all, that the team was totally split and their friendship was irreparable right up until the last moment. glass of red and weโll probably be alright. we always had tremendous respect for each other. literally less than a year after their relationship hit its lowest possible point in malaysia and china???????
and what gets me worse about martian is that instead of repairing their relationship to something like what they had before it all went wrongโwhich they absolutely could have done and called it a day and the sport still wouldโve been floored because What Do You Mean Theyโre Okay With Each Other Nowโthey fought to fix themselves and then they let their relationship blossom into what it always could have been. the mutual support! the in-jokes! the Fondness!! the Knowing!!! they spent the most intense five years of their lives learning the other person inside out just to beat them. and they took all that knowledge and got drunk together and decided that theyโd be good to each other. very good to each other, even. these fuckers CHOSE to grow and get over everything together and have a happy ending i literally could not make this up if i tried
