I'm in a mass effect andromeda kinda mood lately so I downloaded the annihilation audiobook to find out where the gd quarians are and Scott's va is narrating. I can't even tell if the writing is any good yet because holy shit Tom taylorson is doing such a great performance so far. This man needs to narrate more audiobooks

I am team shakarian to the day I die BUT if you held me at gunpoint and demanded me to come up with a canon romance it's gotta be Liara, right?

I'm thinking narratively how much this ship gives, like first off, the soldier and the scholar? Swoon. opposites attract? I'm a sucker.

And the angst!!! Liara and shep getting closer, she even remains on the ship while they are hunting geth, and is just reconciling with how short human lives are before bam, collectors attack, shep is spaced. Like maybe Liara has just come to terms with wanting a long term relationship and is ready for the heartbreaking end and then that short time is cut even shorter. She doesn't accept this and gets involved with shady organizations to find a way to bring her love back by whatever means necessary but begins to be weighed down by the shame and grief of what she's done

Come on holy shit that's the start of an epic galaxy shaking romance.

On a sidenote when i picture Liara and femshep on a fancy date i feel strongly convicted that shep would wear a pantsuit without a shirt underneath

I was reading something somewhere from a mass effect alien's pov, talking about how humans are so soft and squishy because they're survivalist endurance hunters and they can keep living for weeks up to a month without food because our soft bodies will start consuming itself, and now I can't stop thinking about potential horror stories being made by aliens about weird human biology

I like to think when they debuted medigel the humans were like watch us heal this terrible leg gash in an instant with this awesome new goo we invented, the aliens were like no way jose genetic modification is forbidden, and humans are like well fuck, I guess we'll just sow it up then. With string. And a needle. And the aliens are horrified that the we're about to stitch up an injury like a fucking pair of pants so they're like ok ok ok maybe we can ignore a little bit of genetic modification
