The mid-afternoon winter air is still and calm. The bridge ahead appears still but you hear worrying wooden creaks and groans. What would cause such a sound?

Incessant storms have soaked through the party's clothes and the winding trail continues through the mountain jungle. You've been waylaid multiple times already, and you have the sinking feeling like you're due again.
This old wooden bridge rattles in the wind and the rush of water below has the whole party scared. Someone has to go first. Draw straws.
After three weeks trekking into the mountains your party has made it to the remote temple. Well, almost… the monks who defend its sanctity will not be easy to pass by. Roll initiative.
A natural rock arch crosses the ravine here. Animals use this frequently, even some larger, less friendly ones. Keep your wits about you.
The high mage has made this his home for the last decade. The searing heat from the perpetually-flowing lava makes crossing the bridge to his tower an intimidating task, but do-able for the determined and the dumb.
The winter has been mild, and the snow thaws rapidly. As a result, it has been challenging to track the bandits whose heads you must collect. You know they used this bridge, but how long ago?
There is just one way into the undercity. A long, narrow causeway that must be crossed on foot. There is no cover here, and you feel unseen eyes watching you.

Under the soft glow of lanterns lining the winding switchbacks of the cliffside path, adventurers must navigate the route above the crashing waves, where every step could lead to danger.
This gorge is a holy site. It is said that crossing over it is akin to crossing the veil to the afterlife, and you are reborn on the other side. It is well defended as only the devote may cross. Your party's bard want to talk his way in, but it won't be easy.
A segment of this canopy bridge has collapsed and the party has a choice to make. Figure out a way to cross, or turn back. You already know which way they'll pick.
It's a beautiful summer day and for once you're on track (and not lost!). Maybe it would be nice to take a short rest here and see if you can catch some fish in the river?

The snow-swept landscape has you chilled to your bones. Ahead, a frozen bridge sits peacefully, silently. You see no boot-marks but sense someone else has been here recently. Friends or foes?
The picturesque beach ahead looks serene, but several locals went missing here while swimming recently. What lurks beneath the waves or in the rocks that would leave no trace?
Your face is half numb but onward you march. Town is just a few hours away, and you look forward spending some time by the hearth.
You've been following this winding trail through the windswept dunes for days. Ahead you see it split. You worry about the choice you have to make, with your supplies near gone.
This narrow path winds in between two fields of tall wheat. Be wary, anything could be hiding just beyond the path, waiting.
