the transgenderfication beam hit the second tower ft. ooccoo top surgery
(part 2/ redraw of this)
He's soooooooo cute ☺️☺️ [points at a character who is not cute in any conventional way and doesn't act cute either]
it’s funny how quickly you get desensitized to comic book nonsense like mister sinister is an insane name for a fictional character it’s so goofy but when i read his name i’m like this is not a laughing matter. we’re talking about cyclops’ traumatic secret laser beam eyeball orphanage surgery backstory. stop laughing.
If you misuse the term "purity culture" to be about your ship wars instead of about the abuse and sexualization of teen girls then imagine me doing this to you
Hey if you’re schizophrenic/psychotic I just want you to know that you’re a wonderful person and that you deserve so much better than the demonization, marginalization and stigmatization you face in this society.
Please consider reblogging this/other positivity posts for schizophrenic/psychotic people every once in a while. If you have more than 100 followers, odds are that a couple of them experiences psychosis and that they rarely see positivity posts for people with their symptoms.
i found her!!
she's a waxwork by 18th century italian artist Ercole Lelli, now housed in the Palazzo Poggi
i have no idea why, but she's just utterly enrapturing to me
she's made of real bones
still thinking about her
it's weirdly difficult to find good-quality pictures of this specific waxwork
i think it's her pose, she's all graceful and contrapasto, like a statue of a saint. and the fact that she has eyes and a nose, but no lower jaw
Oh!! I also have a picture of her and a counterpart. Unfortunately the glass is not very forgiving on phone cameras.
Also bonus: a study of face muscles, wax sculpture from the same museum
Planthopper Parasite Moths: the caterpillars of this family are parasites that attach themselves to the bodies of other insects and then gradually feed on the fluids within the host's abdomen
Above: the larval form of Fulgoraecia exigua
Caterpillars of the family Epipyropidae, commonly known as planthopper parasite moths, are ectoparasites that feed on the haemolymph (i.e. "blood") of planthoppers and cicadas. This family contains at least 40 described species, all of which are parasites or parasitoids.
Above: planthopper parasite caterpillars tucked beneath the wings of their hosts
This is one of the few known examples of a caterpillar that actually engages in parasitic, carnivorous and/or predatory behavior.
Above: Fulgoraecia exigua
The caterpillar has hooked claws that allow it to cling to the host's body; it uses its mandibles to penetrate the cuticle around the abdomen, then inserts a proboscis-like structure into the planthopper's body and begins to feed on the fluids within.
Each caterpillar spends about 4-6 weeks feeding on its host, with its body often tucked beneath the larger insect's wings.
Above: a Fulgoraecia exigua caterpillar can be seen feeding beneath the wings of this planthopper
Young planthopper nymphs that are parasitized by these caterpillars rarely survive the process. The survival rate for older nymphs and adult hemipterans is also quite low.
Above: the photo at the top shows an Epipomponia nawai caterpillar feeding on a cicada, while the photo on the bottom shows Fulgoraecia exigua feeding on a leafhopper
Planthopper parasite caterpillars are often tiny, with their bodies measuring just 3-7mm long, and they're covered in waxy white filaments that make them look like little cottonballs. These features seem to mimic the "fluffy" appearance of many fulgoroid planthopper nymphs, which may enable the caterpillar to sneak up on its host.
Above: planthopper parasite caterpillars
When the caterpillar reaches maturity, it finally detaches from its host and then uses a thin strand of silk to abseil down to a leaf or a branch, where it can spin a cocoon around its body and enter pupation.
Above: the cocoons of Fulgoraecia exigua
The caterpillars of this family create very distinctive cocoons. As delicate layers of silk are folded together around the pupal case, they often form ridges, cone-like structures, or wider, flatter folds that look almost like rose petals.
Above: a cocoon made by an unidentified moth from family Epipyropidae
The fully-developed moth may emerge weeks or even months later, depending on the species. The adults of this family typically have a blackish-gray appearance.

Other examples of predatory, carnivorous and/or parasitic moths can be found in my earlier post about meat-eating caterpillars.

realised I never shared this here oop
during my final semester of my animation diploma I gave myself a small character design project to work on alongside making material for my reel. here are the beetle girls! I'm itching to return to working on them more once I regain some motivation again
love bugs
Carriola Tussock Moths: these moths have translucent patches (i.e. hyaline windows) on their wings, and their green-tinted veins are clearly visible within
Above: Carriola witti
Moths of the genus Carriola have a very unusual appearance, as their wings are covered in translucent patches that reveal a delicate network of greenish-yellow veins. The green coloration is caused by the haemolymph (i.e. "blood") that passes through these veins.
Above: the male form of Carriola thyridophora, with a close-up of the hyaline windows and bright green veins on its wings
The males of this genus typically have brown or beige borders around their wings, while the females have pink or white borders instead. The hyaline windows also tend to be much clearer and more extensive in the females.
Above: the female form of Carriola seminsula
This article describes the adaptive benefits of wing transparency in moths:
The coevolutionary arms race between prey and predator has generated some of the most striking adaptations in the living world, including lures, mimicry and camouflage in prey. Transparency, by definition, constitutes the perfect background matching against virtually all types of backgrounds. Transparency is common in pelagic environments where there is no place to hide.
Above: genus Carriola
Carriola tussock moths can be found in many different countries throughout Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Malaysia. They also inhabit certain parts of China, India and Sri Lanka.
Above: Carriola seminsula
This is one of my favorite moths, tbh. I love it when moths have hyaline windows on their wings, and this genus is especially beautiful and bizarre.

There is a new documentary / film coming out soon that has been executive produced by Harper Steele (Will Ferrell’s Bestie, prolific writer for SNL, recently out trans woman) about transmasculine people, a documentary in which the makers invite us to consider: “Why is the transmasculine community particularly vulnerable to living briefly and dying quietly?”
What Will I Become (2026)
Is a story where the directors Lexie Bean (they/he) and Logan Rozos (he/him) explore unique transmasculine vulnerabilities, diving into their own personal experiences while intertwining the stories of two young trans men who died by suicide, Homecoming king Blake Brockington and poet Kyler Prescott.
[Blake pictured on the left - Kyler on the right ]
Here’s something Harper Steele had to say in a recent interview that really moved me and made me weep and immediately fly to this app to share this news with all of you.
Im floored. This is what it’s all the fuck about. Harper admits she’s been focused fairly singularly on transfem perspectives as she’s transitioned — but then she hears from the creators of this documentary, watches it and is floored by what she sees. So floored she puts her material resources behind making sure this message gets heard. She was involved in the editing process heavily as she felt very passionate about making sure that the audience would connect with the substance of the film as intensely as she did. Not just that but she talks about how she has learned the ways in which the concept of “building a new masculinity” can be such a massive pressure on transmasculine people, and she wants that highlighted in the film, too. Im just. Emotional. Tbh. Please everyone hang in there. Please. Please please please. Support the heck out of this documentary once it officially gets a wide release. And whatever you do
— do not fucking give up.
