Can a fire cast a shadow?
There doesnât seem to be a shadow casted on the wall in the above image of a burning matchstick. So, does that mean that fires donât cast shadows at all?
One common argument that follows is:
Fire is a source of light, hence cannot cast a shadow
But, that arguments falls apart, when you realize that:
Sure, fire is a source of light but it is not the brightest

Fire could cast a shadow, if the light source behind the fire was brighter than the flame itself.
You can simply use an iPhoneâs flashlight and a lighter. The LED from the iphone is just powerful enough to begin to make a shadow from the flame.
