REBLOG IF YOU THINK ASEXUALS BELONG IN LGBTQ+ SPACES
LIKE IF YOU THINK ASEXUALS DON’T BELONG IN LGBTQ+ SPACES
REBLOGGING SO HARD.
I bet 90% of the likes are mistakes
If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.
when u draw something you thought you’d fuck up on but it turns out a lot nicer than expected
this is a positive post, do not be negative and tell yourself you can draw and you will get better as time goes on!!!
Supporting Characters
A lot of advice I've seen about writing compelling and relatable supporting characters often leans on their motivations, which is a really good starting point. A character with a life of their own that doesn't solely revolve around the MC is usually the goal for me.
But I've also found that I connect with my supporting characters a lot more when I also focus on another aspect: Boundaries.
Coming up with boundaries my supporting characters will and will not cross in service to the overall story has taught me a lot about who they are.
One character won't go anywhere without letting his parents know. Another won't cross the line into violence. Another won't do anything that will remotely risk their child's future. Some characters will cross moral lines to save lives, while some will do it for a cause they believe in.
When I really get into what some characters will or won't do in relation to what motivates them, that's where I get the most fun and illuminating character moments. I get to see if that conflicts with my main character's goals and what that does for the story. That's where the fun happens lol
Among us characters and the colour pallet for easier charecter custumisation or colour reference for fan art idk

Hey! Been getting into creating Homestuck Sprites lately, and I thought it’d be cool to share my Trollsona, Maymay Flaris.
The first and third are my versions of her from way back in 2018. The second and fourth are the most recent. Are they an upgrade? Let me know what you think.
I didn’t make these all by myself. I actually pieced a base for each together from a really cool site, and edited them in MS Paint.
Link is: http://www.farragofiction.com/DollSim/index.html?type=2
If you like my creations, I wouldn’t mind taking in asks to making sprite edits for anyone, with added references of course. I don't wanna mess up the character(s) any.
Drawing Quick Tip: The Coil
Sketching in coils helps you keep form in mind actively. It also helps you think about how different forms fit together and makes shading much easier because this techinque forces you to understand the composition of your subject.

Thought I'd hop on the mermay train this year in a brand new decade. I've been wanting to draw a cat mermaid like this for a while now, so why not?
Her name is Callie Koi, and she's a calico koi mermaid. I thought both type of cat and fish would fit together nicely.
Dear Tumblr,
All those posts you see of young artists charging $3, $6, $10 for a drawing because they need help? That’s fucking exploitation, and fuck you if you think it’s reasonable or a “good deal" to pay nickels and dimes to squeeze a full-color original drawing out of some talented, hardworking kid because things are tight, and they can’t afford their textbooks. Or food. They sure as hell can’t afford to make you art for $6.
Instead, stop. And ask them where you can donate. If you can afford a $6 drawing, then you can afford to spend $6 simply to help someone. You don’t need internal organs as payment.
Don’t allow young artists to be exploited.
this and this some more.
I’d go one step further and say: Offer to pay them decent Illustration wages instead if you still want a drawing, say around $20/hour. That way not only will you blow their socks off with your kindness and respect for their abilities, but you will also endow them with a sense of worth that they’re probably hurting for after being surrounded by the sort that makes them feel like their services are so worthless.
Illustration is a professional skill requiring years of training and dedication, regardless if there’s a school involved. If you enjoy that artist’s work and want to help them out, either donate like suggested above or else pay them what their work is worth and pass on the word.
Basically!
And if someone claims something that took you an hour to draw isn’t worth at least around $10 per hour of work, dont listen to their bullying. To the non-artist, its hard to see the worth in art especially if they didn’t put 10, 5, 2 or even 1 years of solid effort to get to the level of artistic ability there are today.
If the person complaining is still unhappy with the price despite that reasoning? Well let THEM make their own drawing themselves and spend the $10 elsewhere. GL to them getting the level of artistry you have without those years of experience they put behind them!
Honestly, I make designs for people for free, but someone offered me $20 for one once and I nearly cried.
PLEASE TIP ARTISTS.
ESPECIALLY IF YOU THINK THEY ARE UNDERCHARGING.
