A fond farewell
"... And that is the end of my adventures in Ivalice." Chen said, as she finished off the last entry in her journal, snapping it shut afterwards.
"Are you sure you have to go?" A gria asked.
"...Honestly, probably not. My masters have not ordered my return. However, I cannot stay here forever, in any case... and I think I have done enough here. Besides..." The nekomata gave a fond smile. "I've taught you well. You're ready to take command. And I am not leaving you with nothing..."
Chen murmured for a few moments, the journal in her hand floating before copying itself, a copy of it appearing in Chen's other hand. Chen held out the original.
"Here you go. My personal journal, a record of my adventures here. Detailing quests and adventures I had before we had even met. And beyond that..." She pulled a light blue stone from her pocket that had been tied with string.
"If you ever have real need of me, then you can use this to contact me, and if I am in a position to do so, I will come to your aid." Chen hesitated for a moment before dropping it into the dragon girl's hand. "Don't overuse it though, or I may have to confiscate it. Only use it if you REALLY need me. I want you to take charge, and become the leader I know you can become, rather than constantly asking me for advice. Trust your instincts."
"Mmn..." The dragon girl said, nodding, before looking up at Chen, tears in her eyes. "I'm gonna miss ya, boss."
Chen gave a soft laugh, giving the dragon girl a hug.
"I'm not the boss any more... you are." She turned away, walking over to a figure in armour who did not seem to even be moving. They could be a statue.
"Judge, hear me. I am leaving Clan Mayohiga, and I am leaving it to the command of Sleisa here. Make sure you serve her as well as you have served me."
The judge nodded, raising his sword. There was a blue glow as the perks and safety granted by the Judge were removed from Chen, Chen giving a small exhale.
"Heh... didn't think I'd feel so... vulnerable now." She said, looking down at her hands, flexing them a little. She turned her head to the side as a gap opened itself up, the familiar ribbons at either end, the red eyes staring out at her. She stepped in front of it, looking back at Sleisa, who looked a little unsettled by the gap.
"... See ya, Sleisa. Take good care of everyone." Chen smiled, before stepping through the gap with a flick of her tails, one of them split and the other whole. The gap shut smoothly once Chen had stepped through it, leaving Sleisa with the Judge.
"Right then... business as usual." Sleisa said, worrying her bottom lip. "I can do this... The Boss... Chen, has faith in me. So even if I don't believe in myself, she does."

I MIGHT give Chen some limited shapeshifting abilities on her return.
Partly because her cute, younger form would be good for people more familiar with it and to put people at ease...
Partly because I don't wanna get rid of the Chen icons I made over the course of several years~
Final Quest
"Urgh!" A young woman with cat ears and two cat tails skidded back along the floor, gouging a line in it with her sword, before falling to one knee, panting heavily.
"Foolish girl from another world." An older woman's laugh echoed around the temple, coming from underneath a cultist's hood. "Did you really think you could stop me?"
"The thought did cross my mind, yeah." The young woman said, trying to raise herself up onto her feet by placing the point of her sword against the stone ground and raising herself up, before simply getting kicked back down by the other. "Guh!"
"No no no... don't get up on my account." The cultist grinned. "I'm surprised at you though. Pleasantly surprised."
"I always aim to please..." The woman groaned, coughing a little. She opted to stay on her knee this time, rather than risk getting kicked again.
"I would have thought you'd be smarter than this, I will admit. You know how powerful I am, the sort of things I've done. And yet here you are. You came to confront me all on your own. Are you stupid, or just overconfident?"
The cultist stiffened a little as the young woman started laughing.
"... Who said I was alone?" She said, smirking.
The cultist whirled around, eyes wide underneath their hood. But... there was nothing.
"Pah, what a poor tri-" They started to say, before their voice cut off into a scream of pain as the younger woman had moved with incredible speed, hitting them with a solid slash.
"... I never said I wasn't alone, either." The woman said, giving a swipe of her sword, some of the blood on the blade splattering to the ground. She turned around, her sword raised.
"You are not nearly as big a threat as you think you are. People more powerful that you have tried to summon Neukhia before. And people far less powerful than I have stopped them. I don't know what you were planning on achieving by summoning them, but it wasn't going to work out well for you, unless you WANTED to destroy everything." The woman kept walking forward, her sword pointed steadily at the cultist.
The cultist laughed, even as they clutched at their wound. It was serious, but not fatal.
"Oh please, put your sword down. We both know you're not going to kill-" The cultist's eyes widened as the woman drew her sword back and finished the cultist with one slash of their sword, their body crumpling before they could make another noise.
"You're hardly the first person I've killed. Hell, I've killed for less. So if killing someone is going to stain my soul, don't worry... it's already stained red." The woman said, giving another swipe of her sword to send a few splatters of blood to the ground before wiping the blade off on the cultist's robes. She lent down to check their pulse before standing up, tilting their head back, their own hood falling back, revealing a young looking face and bright amber eyes.
"Well... guess I need to start making preparations. I think I'm ready to return home... the rest of my clan are strong enough to survive and flourish on their own."
And with that, the woman left the temple, leaving their cultist's body dead on the floor.

Sometimes I do question the choices made in games like Who thought a minute and a half cutscene full of QTEs was a good idea? Like, the knife fight scene between Leon and Krauser is otherwise excellent, but the fact that it's just a minute and a half of QTEs is... unforgivable.
While I'm not quite ready to bring Chen back yet, I have decided on one thing.
Considering Chen was raised by a kitsune, whom are known for trickery, and Yukari, who is, well, Yukari... Chen is going to be a bit more of a troll and trickster when she comes back. Generally just messing with people.
For instance, if you ask her where babies come from, her response would likely be
"Well, when a youkai and a shikigami love each other very much-"
"You spilled blood, you thought it easy, you thought it fun."
"Now I've found out, now your reign of terror's done!"
"Families you've broken, the ones you've left in tears..."
"Their hopes and dreams empower this hero's spear!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"She's almost ready. Almost ready to return to us."
"I shall make preparations, Yukari-sama."

"i think chen is hiding bones!!! in her tail, are you hiding them bones??"
"Well, Chen isn't here for the moment, but I can assure you the only bones in her tail are her own."
... You know what, why not.
I'm not as huge into anime as some, but here you go.
How soon will Chen be coming back?
...Well, I've liked a couple of posts for icons of her new FC~
