What is a dead giveaway that someone is an sx dom? an sp dom? an so dom?
easy guide to determining someone’s dom variant:
sx dom: craves intensity with people, is genuinely interested in the other person, seems to want to get to know people, its tough for them to make friends especially since they’re uninterested in people they see no ‘potential’ in, most likely to ask how your day went, prone to getting defensive over others,
number one thing to notice: very often conflicted when it comes to interpersonal matters, most destructive subtype if under stress
how to tell an sx dom by their environment: its very easy to figure out their interests and hobbies at first glance
sp dom: unconcerned with others, preoccupied with material matters, very critical of themselves and other people, seem approachable at first but you get a feeling they’re never really ‘into’ the conversation, unapologetically selfish, unlikely to truly care about the effects of their actions on others, least likely to ask how your day went, they always come first regardless of the circumstance, very difficult to influence, will avoid certain places and people, strong reaction to things other types don’t understand, known to overreact
number one thing to notice: usually disinterested in pretty much everything, they’re hard to engage, least destructive subtype under stress, uncooperative
how to tell an sp dom by their environment: most likely to have their home reflect their current mental state
so dom: never seems to know what they are doing or why, noticeably shallow, feels as though they are “missing something”, acts like they desperately need to fill a void, preoccupied with hierarchies and comparing themselves to others, makes friends easily but has trouble deeply connecting to others, easily influenced, very flighty and seem uncommitted
number one thing to notice: prone to getting defensive about their position in a given environment and will not let it be compromised, varying and situationally dependent destructiveness under stress
how to tell an so dom by their environment: their environment can be extremely cluttered but still feel ‘empty’,
enneagram is the opposite of ‘you are valid.’ it is ‘no one is valid, everyone is the fucking worst’
Each enneagram subtype summed up

So: I must put others before myself to find peace
Ngl tho you guys, though sixes get like a lot of criticism for just the way they are, one thing that I’ve noticed across the board for them all is that they’re extremely loyal people. They never forget you. Even if you disappear off the face of the planet, they’ll still message you to see if you’re alright. They’ll make time for you. They won’t forget your birthday. Like I have had many problems with sixes, but they are, without a doubt, the only type that has always made me feel loved and that I mattered.
What sort of characteristics or observations would you look out for to identify people if they're an Si dom/have Si Auxiliary without having to directly ask them?
Those things I will mention are obviously not an “only strong Si-users do this and nobody else” or a “strong Si-users will 100% always show this” thing but they seem to be pretty common traits:
sedentarinessI’ve observed that strong Si-users (that includes INxPs too though) somehow always end up staying in the area they grew up in. No matter how trashy, expensive or far away from work that area is.If they have to move to another city to study there, they are the kind of people that visit their parents every other weekend and move back into their hometown once they got their degree. The only reasons that ultimately seem to be able to force them out of their hometowns are a) moving to a loved one that lives far away, b) a unique job opportunity that they know they will never have again or c) war (this one is pretty drastic i know). But even with those reasons they often can’t fully appreciate the new place and homesickness is often a really strong feeling for them. I haven’t met a strong Si-user yet that moved to a completely new country “just because they felt like it” or “because they wanted to have new experiences” or other “frivolous” reasons.
the ways they describe food / weird eating habitswhile strong Se-users describe their food neutrally and weak Se/Si-users have trouble describing food at all, strong Si-users get reaaally specific about certain things. like “I hate like mushrooms, not all mushrooms though, mostly only shiitake and chanterelle when someone boils them instead of frying them so that they get all soggy and have this weird furry and slimy taste to them”.and you can’t fool them. if they hate onions they will taste the onions even if they were grated into powder and you add dozens of spices on top of them, they will taste it. don’t try to fool them just to convince them that “they were wrong and onions do taste great after all!”, they will only feel betrayed and hate them even more afterwards.
a “don’t fix it if it isn’t broken” mentalityself-explanatory
needing clear instructions for tasks that will be gradedthis goes in hand with a weak Ne and being overwhelmed by all the possibilities that open tasks offer.that becomes irrelevant when there is nothing at risk though
and… that’s actually it?all of this are things that you can only experience irl or know if they talk a lot about themselves.when you only know the person online you have no distinct way of telling if they use Si or not.
things that are not Si-traits:- never breaking rules (esp. ESTJs are among the biggest rule breakers you will meet)- great memory (strong Si-users often know a lot of trivia but it’s completely arbitrary and often useless)- traditionalism (Si doesn’t care for society’s rules since Si is personal and, again, very arbitrary and irrational)- being afraid of new things (we will immediately adopt new things if they prove to be superior to old methods.)

xSxJ culture is subtly changing a.m. and p.m. to AM and PM or vice versa when your coworker who prefers to write it the other way is out of the office
So/Sp - Friendships
this is. a complicated topic?
on one hand, we definitely do divide people into categories. on the other hand, this doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t see people as individuals. you can inhabit a role, be part of a group, and still be your own person yknow? like. i guess compare it to a series of kings? every king was different, focused on different topics, but they still all inhabited the same role. so. so/sps definitely do separate friends (‘friends i met in school’ ‘friends i met at work’ ‘friends i met through family’ ‘friends i met through mbti’ and etc etc etc are all Definitely Treated Differently) but this. doesn’t mean we don’t see them as people? it’s hard to explain but yeah. i just wanted to clarify this.
generally, at least in my own experience, so/sps like to keep friends from different groups separate so it doesn’t get awkward with how you act differently between them. you can’t be as casual with work friends as you can with childhood friends because you know them from a professional environment, for example. this example actually shows why we’re reluctant towards having genuine friends from work. these are people you are expected to act professionally with, and they automatically judge your abilities (because as their coworker, your abilities affect them as well). so maybe these aren’t the best people to confess how you have attachment issues from how your ex boyfriend cheated on you or whatever. and this makes it hard to get close to them. this. wasnt where i was gonna take this post but ok moving on.
how do so/sps experience their friendships?
answer: like a normal person. duh. they’re just not exclusionary with their friendships, and more even in their treatment of others. they’re more willing to be as helpful towards strangers as to their friends. but they trust their friends, which i guess is the biggest difference. you don’t tell strangers your secrets and insecurities. you don’t trust strangers to be there for you when you need them. if relatively healthy, they’re loyal. friendships are something important to them, because without friendships they’d have no belonging and they’d be fucked, if you want to look at this as cynically as possible. i love my friends, i really really do. i adore them all, even when they fuck up, even when they’re acting up. soc, in a way, is more forgiving than sx. it can accept flaws, it can accept mistakes much easier, because the whole idea of soc is different individuals filling different roles. you can’t expect a doctor to know how to flay a fish, right? so someone you’re friends with because you enjoy discussing fandom topics can have flaws in other areas. where you draw the line is personal.
Reading MBTI test results: oh wow this is so fun! I’m an INTP/Logician!
Reading enneagram results: a computer just explained my own emotional unavailability to me and told me the reason I have trouble connecting with others is because of the air of indifference and vague arrogance I keep up to convince myself and others that I am enough and that I am just as capable as everyone else
Guidelines for Tritype/IV Evaluation
1. Desires and Fears
1s desire perfection and fear unworthiness
2s desire love and fear abandonment
3s desire success and fear failure
4s desire specialness and fear normalcy
5s desire knowledge and fear incapability
6s desire security and fear instability
7s desire stimulation and fear entrapment
8s desire autonomy and fear enslavement
9s desire peace and fear disruption
2. Order
The first fear and desire are those of your core type
This is followed by your wing
Then by your first fix
Then by your second fix
Then by your first fix’s wing
Then by your second fix’s wing
3. Instinctual Variants’ Effect
Sp 1 turns its critical eye towards itself and thinks itself is in need of perfection.
So 1 upholds itself as a banner of virtue for others to follow as a mentor.
Sx 1 turns its critical heat and anger towards the outside world and thinks the outside world is in need of perfection.
Sp 2 acts in a childlike fashion to endear other to it.
So 2 helps the broader environment and takes on tasks to endear itself to others.
Sx 2 seduces an individual with a special relationship to endear itself to that person.
Sp 3 acts against vanity and overfocuses on its work and letting it speak for itself.
So 3 focuses on networking and presenting its polished image to as many people as possible.
Sx 3 tries to live up to a masculine or feminine ideal and make a strong attractive impression on others.
Sp 4 acts stoically and focuses on suffering in silence.
So 4 chronically compares itself to others to develop its identity.
Sx 4 focuses on sharing its powerful personal experience with others through emotional rawness and aggressive honesty.
Sp 5 focuses on hobbies and a safe space they can retreat to.
So 5 plays an advisor role to others and collects helpful information.
Sx 5 collects darker information and shares secrets or interesting information as a method of connection.
Sp 6 focuses on material safety and obsesses over details to keep itself secure.
So 6 ties itself to systems, organizations, and social roles to keep itself secure.
Sx 6 desperately ties itself to ideals of strength and bravery to keep itself secure.
Sp 7 focuses on lifestyle and personal, often permanent, pleasures (nice houses, fast cars, sex, etc.) as opposed to outside stimulation.
So 7 focuses on a utopian and idealistic image of the future and gives to others in the optimistic assumption they will give back.
Sx 7 focuses on new and sensational ideas and distractions with a focus on fresh experience.
Sp 8 acts as a survivalist and gathers the resources it needs to exist entirely independent of others.
So 8 acts as a protector to those around it and tries to remain powerful by shielding those less powerful.
Sx 8 acts in direct rebellion and emotional rawness against others, testing itself against others to find an ideal partner strong enough to surrender (often this search is unconscious.)
Sp 9 focuses on gathering resources so that it can remain stationary and uninvolved.
So 9 acts as an active peacemaker and works towards helping others to avoid conflict.
Sx 9 searches for an ideal partner to remain in stasis with, who will not disturb them or have conflict with them.
4. Example
My friend is a 3w4 7w8 1w2 sx/sp
His core desires go:
Success>specialness>stimulation>perfection>autonomy>love
His core fears go:
Failure>normalcy>entrapment>unworthiness>enslavement>abandonment
His 3 is attractiveness focused with a side of work focus.
His 7 is fresh experience focused with a side of lifestyle focus.
His 1 is zeal focused with a side of self-criticism focus.
5. Making the connections
This is a more intuitive (not iNtuitive) process. Make the connections from the basic core fear and desire (example: the core fear of failure feeds into all these other fears as a root cause and all these other fears in combination feed these behaviors)
Look at how the single core fear plays into every other behavior at play and every other fear at play. Flavor each attitude and behavior and fear based on every other factor.
And in conclusion, you have your type evaluated. Congratulations. Go forth into the world in full glory.
100% guarantee that someone is sp-blind: they’re wearing shorts and a t-shirt when it’s freezing with a wind chill of -10.
another one: they wear a suit and jacket and tie when its hot
sp blind 3
If there are actually for real people like that, which I cannot understand anybody ever doing that willingly ever…. I want them to realize that everybody else does not think they look snazzy. They are only thinking of the layer of sweat that must be encasing their entire body.
I have an sx/so friend who made it a principle never ever to wear a jacket. So he walks around in snows and freezing temperatures with only a shirt. He says he never feels cold and loves winter. I do not get it.
grouping by dominant instinct: diet
grouping by blindspot: habitat
grouping by synflow vs contraflow: reproductive system
