"I trust you." from Jonny xox
Complications were her driving factor. Simplicity drove her away with light speed, and for the life of her Monica would likely never choose to change that. Complications created excitement, uncertainty and painted each coming day with a darkness that couldn’t quite be seen through, it left those that cared at a loss and those that didn’t questioning why anyone would put themselves through unnecessary pain; her only answer, was that she didn’t feel it. Pain was subjective, and she’d yet to find something that could reach through cobwebs that marred her heart so tightly that she almost didn’t think it was possible to feel something like that. Perhaps it was unfair. Unfair that Monica had found the cracks in Jonny’s resolve all to easily. She could argue herself that he didn’t deserve how tightly wound she could wrap him around her finger, and perhaps a piece of her could one day feel bad for it, but with the glint in his eye and the mischief in hers, it was near impossible to feign any semblance of shock over what he now voiced. I’ll destroy you --- and it might never be intentional, but it would come, and she’d allow a hollow apology to fill her throat, and maybe one day he’d believe her; but she never would. Monica could find more beauty in the broken than she ever could an already made masterpiece, and with the loss of Ananya from their lives, broken pieces could meld together with glue and tape. I trust you. That was when she knew --- when Nic could finally understand what she was doing. She’d heal him, just to break him all over again -- to give him a heartache that didn’t overshadow loss, but which dulled the pain and gave him something else to focus on. A pretty face could create destruction in a chest that had never felt it before, it could hypnotize a viper all too focused on drawing strength from every weakness and for what she was worth, Nic could never allow him the chance to do that to her.“You’re drunk, Jonny..-- “ She smiled.
He could feel everything, and she could never return it. He could trust her with everything, and she could destroy all of it with the palm of her hand and swear by the eerie light of New Orleans that she’d never trusted him to begin with.“C’mon, there’s one more place I need you to see before the sun comes up, and you can’t be sober to see it.”
colexbrager:
There had never been any expectations when it came to their relationship, Cole was never the type to push at anything. It had all started out as something fun, a means to enjoy each other’s company without putting unnecessary stress or tension onto the relationship. But somewhere along the line they had stopped introducing each other as friends, and had progressed to so much more. As the weeks turned to months, easily surpassing that year mark, Cole had figured their relationship had reached a point that called for taking that next step. There had been no expectation, no need for her to agree to move in with him. So when the news reached his ears, it felt like a physical slap in the face. A blow that left him reeling for days, trying to wrap his head around where he had gone wrong. “A white lie here or there,” he repeated her words with a scoff, rolling his eyes almost immediately. It was baffling that she could so easily downplay what she had done, what she continued to do. A nearly two year long relationship shattered and broken because she hadn’t been brave enough to take that next step. It wasn’t simply her breaching uncharted territory, for she was the first true girlfriend that he had ever had in his life. All through high school he was considered the bad boy, the delinquent, Clay Brager’s younger brother. He was good enough to fuck behind the bleachers, in the bathroom stall, but it all only went so far. Nic was the first girl he’d cared to get close to, the first one that knew what feeling like an outcast in one’s own family felt like.
In the end, it would never matter. Anything that he ever said to her, she would easily have a counter argument, a retort that would leave him fuming. She knew how to play the game much better than he did. There were plenty of days, even more nights that he came to the conclusion he needed to cut her off. That he needed to finally severe the last remaining holds that she had on him, and move forward with his life. But one carefully worded text, one phone call made at the perfect moment would send him right back into her clutches. He was like an addict, and she was the fix he so desperately desired. And she goddamn well knew it. She would dangle it in front of him, give him just enough of a taste that would ensure he’d be crawling back for more. How pathetic had he become, how transfixed with her that he could see how toxic it had all become. “Really? All I remember is leaving your place less than satisfied,” he quipped with a thoughtful look upon his features. But it wouldn’t last, it never did. The anger returned when she so easily maneuvered around him, finding the next button to push while he was still focused on the last. His eyes danced across her features, ones that he had memorized while she slept beside him, tracing tattoos gently with his fingertips. Does it matter? The question bit into him, but it was her carefully planned following ones that spun that hurricane up inside of him. You miss me. Every fucking day, every fucking night; but all he could think of was how she had betrayed him, how she had slipped into the bed of that Black Wolves member with little care to what it would do to him. His lips twitched into a sneer, his fingers tightening around her wrist ( though he would always be careful not to hurt her ), “Fuck you, Nic.” He practically hissed the words, his free hand coming up to grip fingers across her jaw. He was sick of listening to her twist around words, bating him with just the right ones. Stepping forward, he forced her backwards, moving them until she was caught between the cement wall and his body. “Fuck you,” he growled again, staring down into her features, his hand slipping from her jaw across her neck, fingers splayed out across her collarbone.
It was as if he’d been blinded by the kind of person she might have been, despite the fact that she’d never hid it at all. It had always been there in plain sight, and yet now that he’d learnt what it was like to fall victim to her near instinctive ability to poison everything she touched, he, like so many people before him, played it off as if it was something personal. And even if that were the case, she’d never claim it to have been personal, but neither could she deny that she’d done what she had with the distinct intent to hurt him, and she’d long since known how to do it. He’d offered her something that she’d never considered, something that her adoptive family had never extended to her, something concrete. And even after two years, she still struggled to swallow back the idea that he’d wanted so much from her. But much like a wounded animal, it had been far too easy to lash out rather than deal with the burning hurricane of uncertainty that had swirled in her chest. When she was younger it was deafening, but as she grew older, she soon accepted it for what it was, and now it tore it’s way through her almost silently, a long forgotten aspect of her life that she barely paid mind to. Her white lies had turned black, grown beyond something harmless, and she’d never thought to care, not even when Cole had done exactly as she’d hoped he would and leave --- to rescind his offer of something more, something that would have changed everything for them. Complacency wasn’t what she’d wanted --- she hadn’t wanted comfort or certainty, it festered and created a kind of contentment that didn’t suit either her or Cole, at least in her mind. The push and pull of anger that emanated from his chest whenever she was around was what they needed --- it kept them alive, even if Cole could swear black and blue that there wasn’t anything there anymore.
Perhaps what had been his downfall had been being so open with her, giving her every ability to hurt him and thinking that she never would. It had long since been built into her dna to do just that. Questionable morals, questionable friends, she was never a saint, and until it stopped, she’d twist whatever she could in her favor to keep Cole coming back. He could try all he liked, Nic was more than aware that he just couldn’t quit her. Where she might have otherwise claimed it to be pathetic, it was what she’d wanted --- this had always been what she’d wanted, only he’d wanted more. Would he have accepted the simplicity of her turning down the idea of moving in together without question? Or would that have triggered their descent into something more chaotic regardless of whether she cheated on him or not. Cole hadn’t pushed, but she could only wonder if he wouldn’t have found a way to resent her for it anyway. An airy huff of laughter pierced through pursed lips, “And yet you keep coming back.” He could claim dissatisfaction all he wanted, until he was blue in the face, she knew better. It wasn’t hard to miss, the shift in features from toying, trying to play off everything she said as if it didn’t matter, or perhaps she simply knew what to look for. It mattered --- all of it mattered to him, and like another puzzle piece, it fell into place over and over again. There wasn’t anyone she’d rather piss off more. It felt so familiar, his palm outstretched across her jaw, a barely there flit of a smirk tugging at her own lips before the jar of movement had her backing up against the building. Pure force of habit had her hips meeting his as he pressed forward into her, the slip of his hand across her collarbone only proving further how frustrated she made him. Despite his all too clear distaste, she hooked a fingertip into the hem of his jeans, dark hues catching his from beneath lashes, “You miss me, Cole.” It wasn’t goading this time -- she already garnered the reaction she’d wanted, instead her voice lowered, almost breaking against the light whisper of certainty, her hair catching on the brick as her head tilted just slighty to both look up at him, and pave the way for his palm against her.

“Come back!”
“Please, just stop talking.”
“I just want to see you smile…”
“I can’t believe you believed me!”
“Wake up!”
“God, just shut up!”
“Stop looking at me like that, it’s your fault anyway.”
“What, nothing?”
“You look exhausted.”
“Come here, you need a hug.”
“No, you don’t get a choice.”
“I’m coming over.”
“Do you want to be alone?”
“Open the door!”
“Tell me the truth.”
“You lied to me!”
“I thought I could trust you.”
“What am I to you?”
“You… you used me.”
“Say something!”
“Stop doing this to yourself.”
“Oh… don’t cry…”
“Stop, please!”
“You never loved me, you loved what I could give you.”
“I don’t want to be alone.”
“Do you hate me, too?”

“Instead of defacing things, put it on a canvas and sell it for the highest buck,” She said “Unless you work really is amateur. I mean why be anonymous when you could actually be featured somewhere. I mean people who do things in the dark must be ashamed of what they do, right,” She stated. “You say bitchy. I prefer honest,” She said with a shrug. “I’ll just let you know that that window over there belongs to an old lady who has no time for nonsense. She’s probably called the police by now. So enjoy getting arrested for tagging. Very immature to me,”
The deft roll of brown eyes turned to whites before lids closed over to somehow highlight the tired sigh --- sell it, it was the go to for people who didn’t simply do things because they enjoyed it. Nic already made her money at the studio, she didn’t want money for this, and more than enough people already knew her work when they saw it. “People who do things in the dark might really just like the dark.” Sarcasm dripped from her voice all too easily, Nic no stranger to people setting her on a lower pedestal to themselves without ever openly doing it. “Funnily enough, nobody asked for your opinion let alone the honesty, but sure.. spill some more bullshit, we’re all dying to hear more.” This was the very reason why she didn’t get along with the people that had adopted her. Judgement irked her. “--- Perfect, let her call them. If I cared I would have hightailed it the moment your ass showed up. Very immature is perfectly acceptable by my standards, but speaking of, didn’t you want to go home?”
jonnydevane:
“You can be sure, next Instagram post and twitter status I make, will have that exact hashtag. I will start the largest epidemic of badass bug eaters. Fear factor will be shook.” He joked with a wide grin and a small shake to his head. Although he joked and laughed, and had his mind taken off of past events for a short while, when he closed his eyes he could still see the lifeless body of his wife fiancee in her wedding gown, see the tears of her sisters, and the hushed tones of his parents voices when he was in another room. It was a bad memory, one that was haunting him everywhere he went. He had tried desperately to push it all away and in the beginning he had little to no success, but now after three months, he was going back to being the man he once was. Loud and boisterous, fun and sometimes obnoxious. He wasn’t doing it for Ananya, not anymore. He was doing it for himself because he deserved this. With a brief nod, a proud smirk took over the humorous one that once masked his features. “Ah, good deed of the day done. Now it’s someone else’s turn to do one. Now, you don’t have to do anything else until tomorrow, when the world requires something else kind from you.” Shaking his head, he held up his hands in hopes of stopping her from continuing on. “Woah, woah, woah, we all know Piglet was the real MVP. Tiger being next, then Eeyore, rabbit, so on and so forth.” God, it was moments like these he wished he was once again a kid sitting in front of the television watching his favourite shows. Getting up from his seat, he didn’t raise protest of her taking his laptop. He knew she was right, he needed to get out more, get his mind going once again. He hadn’t been doing that, instead he’d find quiet spaces and just sit himself in front of a piece of paper and a laptop. “What do you suggest? What are we going to do?”
“Okay bear grylls, it was just a fly, don’t go calling fear factor out. I’d like to see you try and stomach some of the shit they pulled on that show. I’ve got two words for you, Jonny..-- Elk penis.” Unlike some others, the weight of her friends death, his sister, didn’t linger all too surely as she knew it did for others. Stability and permanence weren’t something she’d ever really had in her life. Things came and went, and change was inevitable. Of course, she hadn’t accepted death, it still sucked that her all too eager to break the rules friend she’d had was gone, but it wasn’t the end of the world --- at least not hers. It was more than obvious however, that Jonny’s hadn’t quite begun to spin like it should, her only worry was that he’d wake up one day and realize the world had continued to spin without him. The simple idea that anyone could miss such a wholehearted chunk of their life to grief bothered her more than she was willing to admit. “See you get me. Pass the good deed responsibility on to the next person and it’s no longer my problem until it comes to bite me in the ass again. Tomorrow? Jeez, settle down.” God forbid a good deed was ever necessary every coming day, she might have broken out in hives at the thought. Balking at his comment, she huffed a loud laugh that morphed into a disagreement of large proportions as she smacked her palm down on the table somewhat dramatically, her voice lowered for only him to hear. “Piglet was a little bitch, everyone knows that. --- But I did forget about rabbit, not changing my answer though.” She shot a instinctual fingergun across at him and slumped back against her seat momentarily before she stood. “I suggest you see a little bit of the world again, I don’t know what you expect to put into any of your scripts watching people order coffee all day, unless you’re writing about someone starting a worldwide epidemic and poisoning starbucks or something. I’m gonna’ take you somewhere that might help, but I’m warning you now, if you tell anyone, I’m going to have to drop you to the bottom of the bayou with some concrete shoes.”
corabrager:
She had just closed the liquor store, and started walking towards her apartment which wasn’t far away. Cora knew that her brothers wouldn’t like her walking in the dark, but no one was around to give her a lift since her car was in the shop. Glancing up from her phone, she stopped once she heard the voice. “Says the person with a can of spray paint in her hand, I’d be disowned if I was a cop. Fast enough, I’ve gotten away a few times.”
It was all too familiar and though her hand tightened a little around the can of paint in her hand, more out of annoyance that a Brager would be someone to stumble across her now than anything, Nic wasn’t all too phased by being interrupted. Likely consequence of using buildings as her medium. “You know what I think? I think they really need to consider crash courses in sarcasm. Mandatory and updated once a year.” It didn’t stop her from eyeing up the brick, of course. “You Bragers and your lightweight advantage, huh?”
aphroditecassadine:
“Suitors? Please, you know I only got eyes for you. So please, ruin away. We know we both want to.” A playful smirk crossed the brunette’s features as she stepped in closer. Bot harms crossed and she let her dark hues scan over the woman before her. “Give it go? Mmmm, are you sure we can’t just hire a driver to drive the getaway car? Seems a lot more efficient if you ask me. And who are you trying to kid? I’ve already left my mark and it had nothing to do with running in heels.”
“I know of no such thing, don’t think I don’t have an alphabetized list of all the people you eye off in a week, your heart eyes for me are a thing of the past. Oh please, if I’d wanted to, I’d have had a thousand chances to take you up on that, don’t you think?” Nic had never once minded the promiscuous tendencies of the other, it sure as hell made things damn interesting, and the attention was something else entirely. “You’re such a princess. No we’re not hiring anyone, I wanna see you book it and hurdle some god damn fences, Tee. Make those boys work at it before slapping some handcuffs on you. Oh you’ve left plenty of marks, but nobody would ever see this one coming. You running in heels from the cops? Priceless.”
zoiexsinclair:
There were many reasons that Nic and her were unlikely friends; the main one being that Nic spoke her mind when Zoie wasn’t sure she could. They balanced each other out, especially when she needed that extra reassurance. “Nic,” she scowled but smiled softly soon after. “You know I can’t do that. I mean, it’ll be nice to not have to live behind this secret. But —-,” and this is where things got complicated. “I don’t know where to go from here. I trust him, just not everyone he associates with.”
She was sweet, really sweet -- so sweet that apparently even Nic couldn’t just brush Zoie off like she might have most other people. She’d long since given up associating with certain kinds of people, tired of fighting to prove she was nothing like them. “Honey, Nicky and the people he associates with are one in the same.” They all were. “You can’t trust one and not the other, it’s not how that world works. Maybe it’ll take you a while to see that, but you can’t have him without the rest of it, and neither can Noah.”
Now I’ll show you the real me.

perseuscassadine:
Perseus had been interested in what the woman was doing as soon as he saw the spray paint in her hand. He could only imagine what she was about to draw. “I don’t have a badge, but I don’t mind seeing the handcuffs.” He looked at the brick wall that she was about to graffiti up and then looked back at her only to see her looking over her shoulder. “I’m suss looking? You’re the one with the can of spray paint in your hand. But I can run pretty fast. So you might wanna get that tag up quick before someone who actually wants to arrest you comes around.” Then he tilted his head, lips pursed. “Actually, take your time. I can probably sway a cop to look the other way.”
It might have only been just her luck that her boss be the one to wander around the corner at such a time, little did she care however -- freedom of creativity, and perhaps the illegality of it didn’t cross her mind either, or his opinion on it in the first place. “We could get you a badge, I think I could even spring for an entire uniform if you really wanted --- that’s my only condition if you wanna’ see the cuffs, Bossman.” She rolled her eyes as he cast hues to her, “Any boy in blue worth his salt will always look at you before they look at me so..-- maybe you should stick around while I tag up.” Her voice changed into some mock impression of a high school kid doing much the same. -- she didn’t tag, what she put onto the walls of the city were just as well thought out as the pieces she put onto her clients skin. “Not all hero’s wear capes, huh?”
