morgan knows she said “i love you 3000” and sometimes wonders… if she had said a big enough number. If she had said the number of people snapped. If she had said that number plus one, would he have stayed? Did he love her 3 billion? Four billion? Would he have said it back, if she said that?

Did he love her One? because for all her wandering, all her thinking of bigger numbers and trying to imagine him loving her that much, it really was one that made the difference. And the One wasn’t morgan stark.

TONY STARK & PETER PARKER TIMELINE/MINI ANALYSIS

SO MUCH of their development as a pair happens offscreen, so I made this timeline that outlines Tony and Peter’s relationship development (as I see it) throughout the movies:

CIVIL WAR —> Originally, Tony saw Peter as a means to an end. He knew he would lose to Team Cap, so he recruited him.

CW AIRPORT BATTLE —> When Tony saw Peter on the ground after the airport battle he realized “oh shit, this is a kid who can get really hurt by the situations I’m putting him into”. He pulls away and cuts off contact, fearing that he’s bad for him.

POST CIVIL WAR into HOMECOMING —> Tony believes he’s a bad influence, so he hangs back. He assigns Peter to Happy to make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid.

END OF HOMECOMING —> Tony realizes that, no matter what he does, Peter will continue to use his powers to fight criminals (and get in trouble). He decides to bring him to the Compound so he can mentor him better and keep a close eye on him. He steps up and accepts his role as mentor.

Aunt May finds out Peter is Spider-Man. A PERIOD OF TIME PASSES, about 2 years.

My theory is that, with the added facet of Peter being Spider-Man, the relationship dynamic between May, Peter and Tony shifts and May defers to Tony to help mentor Peter. A new level of trust sort of develops, as well as a pressure for Tony because he starts to understand that he’s dealing with someone’s child and has the responsibility of mentoring him and keeping him safe. Only NOW does Tony truly start to develop into a sort of father figure.

INFINITY WAR —> It’s obvious they’re more familiar and they’ve fought together (the NY battle in the beginning), and it’s obvious that Tony cares more for Peter as a person (trying to send him home before he can get on the alien ship).

I believe that Peter’s death scene would’ve been more impactful if we had known even just a little more about their past over these last two years. Even a slight reference to something between the two of them, like an inside joke or a reference to a past mission earlier in the movie.

ENDGAME —> The final metamorphosis of their relationship; a sort of passing of the torch, if you will. Specific evidence includes the kiss take (ifykyk) which was cut from the reunion scene, and Peter calling Tony “Tony” for what is likely the first time as he dies.

POST ENDGAME —> Tony leaves Peter EDITH. He trusted him and cared enough about him to leave this tech to him. Like… bro

we really don't talk about happy and peter's relationship enough... even though happy wasn't with may for long and they were broken up before she passed away, I really think happy was kind of like a step-dad to peter, like that's his son fr........

in a weird way, its almost like happy was peter's step-dad before he even got with may... normally its the other way around, partner and then u get their kids as a package deal, but with peter and happy its kind of like Here ur responsible for this kid who wont stop metaphorically and kind of literally throwing himself in front of trains its ur job to keep him alive. By the way his aunt is hot LIKE????

it is SO sad that happy doesn't remember peter, like following may's death/in the 2nd act of nwh happy is really the closest thing peter had to ANOTHER parent, like if not for the spell peter would've 100% ended up under happy's guardianship and it's not even a question, i mean peter was already living under his roof (until said roof was blown up but i digress.....)

happy stood at may's grace asking peter how he knew may is sickeningly tragic, like peter isn't how HAPPY knew may...... </3

post nwh peter parker who keeps all the worst parts of tony close to his chest, who thinks too much, and doesn’t sleep, and keeps everyone safe even when he’s half bleeding out.

tony would be sick to know that he wasn’t around long enough to change this cycle. he wanted peter to be better than him in every way, meaning: not tony stark.

but peter being himself is exactly why he landed up here. why would he want to be that? tony stark was a hero, and peter parker was a murderer.

Good morning. Here's the news: Peter was already a vigilante months before they met.

Btw, Tony did the exact opposite - he asked him not to put himself in danger, but to do things like show lost people the way or prevent bicycle thefts.

And to ensure his safety, he put a tracker, a heater and a parachute in his suit, even if the latter would not be needed in the fight against petty crimes.

Thinking about in canon, how Tony told Peter he had connections with MIT that he could use for Peter, how Peter did ultimately apply and got into MIT, how very likely it was his dream school

But then No Way Home happened, and with everyone forgetting him so did his acceptance into MIT. And so he watched his friends go off to Boston without him. And he’s happy for them, but he can’t help but feel bitter on how much his life derailed.

And if you want to take headcanons into account, where Peter and Tony talked about MIT a lot and Tony was so confident Peter could get in that he even gave him his old MIT sweatshirt then that would make it even more sad.

Like imagine Peter tucking the sweatshirt deep into his closet because he’s too ashamed to look at it, just another reminder of how he isn’t who his loved ones wanted him to be.

Somehow went down a rabbit hole of tiktok imagines from 2021 where y/n is Tony’s daughter that gets taken by Thanos along with Peter, and Thanos makes Tony choose between the two and he always chose Peter with like NO hesitation and y/n gets slimed out.

And this wasn’t just one video it was multiple. Very riveting stuff.
