vanessa ives was one of the most beautiful, brilliant, truly wonderful characters i’ve ever seen on tv. she was strong, vulnerable, powerful, soft, and so deeply and incredibly complex. eva green has done absolute wonders, and without eva or vanessa, penny dreadful would never have been what it is. this is to an amazing character and her amazing actress. vanessa is a character i relate to on a level that is, to be honest, shocking. she is so relatable; there is a vanessa in every one of us, especially those that are disadvantaged in some way, that suffer from mental illness, that feel themselves unlovable and unworthy of the good things in life. she spoke to me in every episode. i have so much love for her and for eva. honestly, eva deserves every award there is. i’m not sure i’ll ever be able to accept vanessa’s death, however.

“Being healthy is something I learned from a very young age. Looking after yourself on the inside helps with your energy, makes your skin glow, and changes your whole outlook on life.”

That night I wrote in my journal: “Trees are schizophrenic now and beginning to lose control, enraged with the shock of their fiery new colors. Someone — was it van Gogh? — said that orange is the color of insanity. Beauty is terror. We want to be devoured by it, to hide ourselves in that fire which refines us.”
Donna Tartt, The Secret History

Albus, Rose, Hugo, and Lily laughed. The train began to move, and Harry walked alongside it, watching his son’s thin face, already ablaze with excitement. Harry kept smiling and waving, even though it was like a little bereavement, watching his son glide away from him… The last trace of steam evaporated in the autumn air. The train rounded a corner. Harry’s hand was still raised in farewell. “He’ll be all right,” murmured Ginny. As Harry looked at her, he lowered his hand absentmindedly and touched the lightning scar on his forehead. “I know he will.” The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.
