Thanks TimeHop, for showing me that 4 years ago I had just started coming out the other side of my worst flare up ever. I still looked like death, and was still skinny and gross. I hate seeing these photos because I KNOW how sick I was but I can’t help also feeling jealous of my 4-years-ago-self for being thin. How ridiculous.
Anyway, here is me. For my new followers. ;)
It's been a while. Too long in fact! Well, I'm gonna bring everyone up to speed as quickly as possible so here goes! - I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a 2:1 in Mechanical and Design Engineering. - I went on holiday to Lanzarote with a friend of mine and spent a good deal of my time in Liverpool with her for her birthday and her families birthday and so on. - I worked at Bestival again as an advanced medic (promotion!). - I spent the summer playing cricket and going to the gym.
- I am now doing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering Design at the University of Manchester. - I'm karting in two different championships as well as now a member of two cricket teams!
Crohn's wise, well things have not gone so well lately. Up until the start of December everything was fine but now my strictures have started to close up again. I have been for another MRI scan and we have decided to put me on a liquid diet for 6 weeks with a course of Prednisone. This is the fourth time I'll be on a liquid diet, which doesn't bother me, and this year I am living with my best mate from home and my course mate, also my best mate, from Sheffield. I keep them up to date with my crohn's so they understand fully. As I don;t start the second semester until I am halfway through the liquid diet, I am not sure how to tell me current course mates but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, all I can do is let this period of inflammation pass and focus on finishing my degree and sporting commitments. Stay strong!
Summer time sadness
The sun is shining and the birds are singing but I’m on the sofa with a hot water bottle. Anyone else find winter is much easier to be sick in?! I know that sounds weird but when it’s winter I don’t feel guilty for being indoors and all wrapped up. Summer time for me is guilt time.

Mental Block
Okay guys, I'm having a very bad problem.
I was meant to take my Humira on Thursday but when it came to having it, I froze up once I put the pen to my leg.
The last time I injected it hurt more than usual and I really didn't like it
I had never had a problem doing it until now.
I think that the bad injection I had 2 weeks ago has caused me to lose all confidence doing it.
Has anyone else experienced this?
How did you overcome it?
Every time I go to push the trigger my brain just goes, "no, nope" and I freeze.
Then the more I think about it the worse it becomes.
Eating for an active lifestyle
Okay, I may have missed an update last week.
This week I'm having an issue. Now that my crohns is under control I have become more and more active to the point where I am captain of a university football team, karting and going to the gym regularly. In the summer I play cricket as well as running when I have the time.
One thing I am struggling with is trying to eat clean and healthy without upsetting my crohns.
I am also at uni, as some of you know, so I need meals and recipes that are quick and easy to follow.
Does anyone have any suggestions of recipes or where to look for them?

Kidney Stone?
I’m currently laid in bed with pain in my right side. It doesn’t feel like my strictures as there is no digestive noises.
The pain comes and goes and feels like something might be moving but I can’t pin point it.
I’m not nauseous, sweating or in severe pain but I am struggling to sleep.
Has anyone else experienced this?
The more it goes on, the more I think it feels like a kidney stone.
