Oh, man, I'm fucked.

My legs ache so bad - walking feels like wading through custard, they're so fucking heavy. My good knee has been hurting all day, my bad knee cannot compensate. I had to walk a fuck-tone. I couldn't pick up my pain meds so I'm reliant on basics and it might as well be Smarties.

Every muscle hurts. All my lower joints are screaming.

This is week 14 (7 jabs) on Adalimumab and I feel worse right now. But there's been absolutely no improvement, that's for certain.

Shouldn't there be, by this point?

And tomorrow I have an MRI of my brain to start the ball rolling in finding out if I have IICP. 😭

Send the coroner round, I might just expire now.

reading the wikipedia page for adalimumab and not knowing what the fuck any of it means but my eyes are welling up with tears bc i take for granted all the medical research that went into making special juice that keeps my immune system from wanting to delete my intestines. my fragile body and the centuries of science and care that allow me to live longer and free of pain. thank you medicine

Friday's Fruits 11 August 2017 💉🌸 On today's shopping list: adalimumab and Pukka tea. 🍫🍺 Spontaneous indulgences: fair trade chocolate and a stubby of gluten-free beer just because. 🍭👙 Obtuse gratitude: a nice grab of belly roll makes subcutaneous self-injection so much easier. I think it would have stung my drum-tight tum of yore so much more. ❄☔ Tangential thought: I know I am not alone in finding it difficult to motivate myself to exercise when the weather is so cold, wet and miserable. I just want to be curled up, not moving, like the dog. Moving stirs up cold air. I am becoming very good at ignoring my Garmin's commands. I am not a good role model.

A new study shows that patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions who take the drug adalimumab can monitor drug levels in their bodies with a finger prick rather than undergoing a full blood draw.

Up until this week, my adalimumab injections have made me tired by about six in the evening. I'm still awake, still not sleepy, and my legs are aching so bad 'at rest', when that is really out of the norm.

...I am going to have to give up hope on this "miracle drug", aren't I?

I've been on Humira for almost a year taking one pen a week for HS and Crohn's. My GI said I'm not building an immunity but my levels aren't high enough to be therapeutic. He wants me to try two pens (80 mg) a week to see if it helps. I'm a little worried about increasing the dosage but this is the only option.
