i just missed a call and the first thing i saw was that i had a voicemail and i was like "oh god oh god shit is this college??? have i missed an important call????"
and nooooo it's just a 5 second voicemail from a suspected spam caller
and all i can hear is wind sounds?? or like. were they blowing into the speaker?? bc that's what it sounded like 😭😭
this is me speculating but it maayyyy be silent for one of a two reasons
to check if your phone number is active so scammers know they can call you again
scary new tech that can record you if you respond and throw it into ai to replicate ur voice to scam people you know
i get a bunchhhh of empty scam calls but it IS weird that its a voicemail instead of a call

I remember the first time I did a Dream Dive and the first spot I spawned in was The Summit and I remember freaking out thinking "I have 90 health and no boons, HOW AM I GOING TO FIGHT TYPHON WITH THIS????" It was then I realized that the bosses' health/attacks were dumbed down depending on the placement of the location in the lineup.

there are multiple bosses ive NEVER gotten at that level btw 😭
Perhaps this is an obnoxious take on my part, but video games should, above all things, prioritize the ability of being paused. At any point. Regardless of whether it's during a cutscene, a special animation, or a time-based puzzle. You never know when you're gonna get a phone call, or someone will need you in another room, or you get a sudden urge to go to the bathroom, or you hear your cat licking plastic, or whatever. Other entertainment mediums like books, movies, and music can be paused whenever you want. Why do some games not give you the same luxury??
I also think video games should let you save at any moment. Pausing temporarily because you got a phone call means you can leave the game open for a few minutes and not be worried that you're missing anything. But being able to pause, quit, and come back another day is a separate matter and also important.
I want to be able to quit in the middle of a battle and go to sleep and be able to turn my entire computer off. Actually I want to save after passing the first phase so I'll be able to load it back if I die in the second phase. Is that not how the battle is meant to be played? Well, I will rage quit if I have to go through the first phase again just to die to the same attack for the 5th time in a row, because it takes me 10 minutes to get to that point every time and if I can't pass it I can't keep playing the game.
Is your game single player? Then let me pause AND quit whenever I want without losing progress.
The only time it's acceptable for a game to not be pausable is if it's an MMO.
I think it *can* be acceptable to limit saving as a gameplay mechanic, the way roguelikes do. But even roguelikes usually have a 'temporary save' thing, where you can save & quit whenever you want, but your save file gets deleted after you reload it (so that it's only useful to pick up where you left off rather than for savescumming).
If you *must* limit saving, at least consider implementing something like that. But if you don't have a good reason to limit saving, just let the player save whenever and reload whenever.
