Life Update
Guess who’s 3 year relationship ended
New York Times workers are striking tomorrow for the first time in 44 years.
Tomorrow, December 8th 2022, stay off of the NYT website, don't listen to any of their podcasts, don't play Wordle, nothing
Almost missed this!
Updates
I will be back I promise! I defend my thesis in December so,,,I’ll be gone for a hot minute
every time i sit down 2 watch a horror movie i think of that one tweet :/
rb if you too sit down in ur room and watch horror movies alone
How do you explain to someone “what drew you to the butch life” when you’re still trying to figure that out? How do you respond without feeling like an outsider, an imposter?
When you figure it out please let me know
This is a legit book I saw in the bookstore today and lads? I do not think it’s satirical
Every day, I learn many people just completely ducked to avoid the point of Breaking Bad, like there is no way you gleaned this from the entire show.
I don’t know how to convey that Serial Experiments Lain is in my brain. I cannot stop thinking about the implications of the loneliness of the internet age, how connected and isolated we are, Lain struggling with existing as a person that desires love and attention but is forgettable/undesirable to contemporary society. I love how she moves through the confusion of hiding the “darker” parts of her but they still show up because she only represses it. I love how utterly painful and amazing it is as someone who struggles with those things. I love how it ends with a compromise between both ‘worlds’, but still shows that .we still need to exist regardless of how painful it is.
I started a new disco game and he wasnt there. Straight up just didnt exist.
King??????? Where are you
There’s almost some philosophical point that could be made about this glitch but I’m not smart enough to make it
Quick Updates
I haven’t disappeared! School has gotten me very busy (I am 80 % done with my master’s thesis though), and I also had some family+social stuff come up! I will be posting smaller drabbles as opposed to my usual medium length posts.
I’m also working on some art and some longer form writing that I look forward to share with you all.
Hope this fall is treating you well.
point in case of “I don’t think women feel safe around me”: just had a lady refuse to get on the elevator because I was standing near it 💀 made it quite clear I was the reason too!
That is such rude shit I am so sorry.
The left eye and the right eye have contradictory perspective. But neither one is an incorrect perspective, merely ones made from different points of view. The resolution of this contradiction is what gives us a three dimensional view of reality. That is to say, the resolution of the contradiction between the left and right eye creates a new perspective which is greater than the sum of its parts. This holds true for auditory information as well. The contradiction between the left and right ear gives us spacial location of sound, a unified perspective with more information than the sum of its part. Neither one is wrong, but in resolving their contradiction, we gain more information than either originally could conceive on its own. The final image we as an organism interpret does not, however, change the perspective of either eye. Both still see their perspective, but act on the information of the whole.
We should understand internal party struggle in this manner. The idea that some conceive of in which every party member agrees on everything is not consistent with a dialectical understanding of struggle. Internal struggle is to be expected. So long as this struggle is not destructive, internal struggle can actually be an important tool for refining the materialist conception of the world that the party operates on. After all, no individual will ever have a perfect image of reality, but through perspective struggle, the party as a unified body can best understand the world, and thus direct the proletariat towards making necessary changes. A disagreement only becomes a problem when it begins to become destructive struggle, less of struggle between perception and knowledge and more a struggle between entities within the body. Less contradiction of images of the eye and more an immune cell that begins attacking the eye under belief that it is an invasive body. These elements are best controlled or even purged.
This is really well written! Contradictions are not a bad thing, rather they show us things to look forward to. Though I am curious about your opinion on when the most internal parts of the party are cancer ridden (say the ‘brain’ or ‘heart’ of the party). What then should the rest of the party body do?
Thank you so much for the compliments!
Honestly this is a difficult question for certain, I don't have a true answer but perhaps I can share some thoughts and ideas in hopes that perhaps in ideological struggle, they may develop into something useful.
The thing that makes cancer so particularly difficult is that a cancer cell is ultimately indistinguishable from a non-cancer cell. The contradiction exists, but is indistinguishable to the immune system and furthermore to all forms of medical treatment. In this manner, there is no way to deal with cancer in the vital organs of the party that isn't going to cause severe damage, and potentially even dissipate the party. The best and easiest thing to do then is to try and purge, and if not possible, try and organize as many members as possible into forming a new body without cancerous elements. It's not ideal, but it's the best case scenario when the cancer of reformism or electoralism is proliferating in the vital organs of the party, the central committee.
There is one other thought I have, again not a very nice one and maybe not even practical, but I will throw it out there anyway. One of the steps for a cell to become cancerous is to breach the Hayflick Limit, removing senescence (aging) and thus becoming immortal. It is hypothesized that aging effectively evolved as an anti-csncer strategy. If death is inevitable, it is better for the body to control when it dies rather than to let it die spontaneously. In this manner, perhaps we need to use more cyclical elements in determining party leadership, something like term limits for members of the central committee. It may wind up being harmful, as aging obviously is still harmful to the cell and the overall body, but by limiting the ability for reformists to take and maintain power in the party, we may be able to limit damage to the party body and maintain the livelihood of the party for longer.
Ultimately, cancer is difficult to deal with, is likely to never have a happy resolution, and must be dealt with in manners specific to each case which makes it difficult to make generalizations for. This metaphor does seem apt for how someone has to deal with reformism or electoralism in their party; it's not likely to be pretty, it will probably hurt and suck a lot. But persever through the pain and the party may live to grow back and hopefully continue its efforts in organizing the working class and leading the revolution.
One more thing I think I'll specify - I do not want this to sound like I'm advocating for jumping ship as soon as it seems like the party is falling to reformism. The idea of grabbing members and leaving is the most extreme case, when anything else is unfeasible. It is perhaps good to understand the contradiction between needing to act early and not overreacting. You don't need to cut off your hand when you get a small scratch, and you don't need to tear out your heart as soon as its beat becomes weaker. But we should be ready to take necessary action to assure losses are minimal - and when things get BAD bad, sometimes extreme response might be the only chance.
Thank you so much for your detailed reply! I also again just love the way you write, adding science makes it blend really well. A part of the reason I asked was because some of my comrades and I were faced with something similar and we’re trying to do some critique on how the situation turned out. We tried to fight against the ‘cancer’ but it had been rooted too deep by the time we began and it felt as though all was lost. We’re trying to build back up now.

Diner meal: Lab grown “steak” fried in an herby batter and covered in a thick gravy, with vegetable fried rice and meatballs.
Restaurant meal: cooked shellfish, a baked potato and steamed greens. As over-processed food and overpowering synthetic flavors become commonplace, keeping your food simple and bland becomes a status symbol.
Psamathe meal: the grilled leg of a desert strider (a native animal), rehydrated mashed tater, and slices of canned fruit.
Scrap stew: stew made from a little bit of everything. Hardy, but questionably edible.
Street food 1: various fried meats on a stick.
Street food 2: A fried starch prism served in a cheesy sauce. The notches on the side allow for extra sauce absorption.
Sorry for not posting, I’ve been very busy, Have some concept art and 3d models. This is a central location in the story, the scrap ship “Ichthyosaur”
