Of what went wrong...
I believe my last post was submitted a year ago and at about the same time. Not exactly sure why my instinct tells me to log in at this time or was it just cold feet because of an upcoming birthday of mine?! Hmm...Strange!
However, much have happened over the past year and I believe in the last post I mention that I will spill the beans but hasn’t gotten around doing it either.
Here’s the thing, the so-called ‘blissful’ life that was once portrayed in the much earlier post was perhaps part of my ‘drowning’ phase whereby the sea level was just below my lower lip. But hey, should I show you how it ACTUALLY looked like? Now you get it.
Welcome to my life. In case I’ve not properly introduce myself. My name is Melissa. I come from a small town (back then) call Sabah. For those who have no idea, Sabah is Malaysia's easternmost state, one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo. It is located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo and known as the second largest state in the country after Sarawak, which it borders on its southwest. The capital of Sabah is Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton. Sabah is often referred to as the "Land Below The Wind", a phrase used by seafarers in the past to describe lands south of the typhoon belt. There you have it!
Anyway, I’m currently residing in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur which takes about 2 1/2 hour by plane from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I’ve been here for almost a decade including a temporary residence in Auckland, New Zealand.
I’m a salesperson, hairstylist, make up artist by profession all rolled in one until 2 1/2 years ago where I decided to make the biggest transition in my life that was going to either make me or break me, a music teacher! It didn’t come off as glamorous as some might think but at the same time it didn’t quite put me in the position as how it was described by others (whom have been in this field for yonk years). Nevertheless, it’s not a one-off thing. It probably is just the matter of time, polishing and practice. You’ve heard practice makes perfect? That’s right. I’m still learning how to apply it.
Well, that’s basically where I am right now. No arguing about it either. Of course there are lots more to it than just plain reading it here which I will slowly fill you readers (if there is one!) in on the details.
Meanwhile, I will leave you with this thought.
Sally Albright: Amanda mentioned you had a dark side.
Harry Burns: That's what drew her to me.
Sally Albright: Your dark side?
Harry Burns: Sure. Why? Don't you have a dark side? I know, you're probably one of those cheerful people who dot their "i's" with little hearts.
Sally Albright: I have just as much of a dark side as the next person.
Harry Burns: Oh, really? When I buy a new book, I read the last page first. That way, in case I die before I finish, I know how it ends. That, my friend, is a dark side.
