(ID in ALT text) congratulation to @ihni for winning the small contest in last years ZukkaThirst event. (@zukkathirst) Ihni was very generous and gave me lots of freedom for the price peaces. so at the end it became like three drawings. hope you like these!
sick characters reaching up to grab something (especially medical supplies from a cabinet, double points if it's meds for someone else) and passing out from the head rush send post
Something I've been thinking about lately when it comes to team whump:
A usually strong, rigid, and reliable teammate being carried back to base by the team leader, looking like a limp ragdoll in their arms.
The whole team is huddled around their unconscious teammate, witnessing the very first time anyone's ever seen them so... small. This person has always been the team's source of safety and security, and until now everyone else had forgotten just how young they are.
To add:
The first time a younger/newer team member sees their mentor carried back like this. To them, their mentor was always unflappable, unassailable, larger-than-life. Somehow they never imagined their mentor could get hurt, like any other flesh-and-blood human. They never imagined they could look so... vulnerable.
The first time a younger sibling sees their role-model older sibling get badly hurt. In the past it's always been older looking out for younger: protecting, teaching, keeping them out of trouble, gently scolding and caretaking when they get themselves hurt. But now, part of that role is suddenly reversed.
being put to sleep
• Sleep can function as mental bondage. If you're asleep and can't be easily woken, you're completely helpless and vulnerable. If you're sufficiently drowsy and out of it, you're still basically helpless, but with the added bonus of potentially being somewhat aware of what's happening.
• The many ways to be forced to sleep -- surgical drugs, chloroform rags, hypnosis, sleeping spells and potions, tranquilizer darts, hidden sedatives in food or drink...
• The onset of sleep can be quick, barely giving you time to react before you're out, or so gradual you won't even realize what's happening until it's too late (and everything in-between).
• Uncertainty -- being put to sleep against your will, not knowing what will happen to you while you're defenseless. Being carried away as you fall asleep, not knowing where you'll be when you wake.
• The fight to stay awake, because it feels like something you should be able to fight, to overcome with enough willpower, but...
• The inevitability of being put to sleep. You might not feel the effects of the drugs or magic right now, you might feel wide awake, but sleep will be coming for you.
• Heavy eyelids fluttering and straining to stay open, drooping and closing all by themselves.
• Confusion and disorientation as the drowsiness sets in.
• Floating in and out of consciousness, perhaps just able to hear people discuss you or feel them handling you.
• Deep hypnotic sleep where your conscious mind is shut down and your subconscious is utterly vulnerable to suggestion.
• Glassy, dazed eyes with nothing behind them -- your eyes might still be open, but you're still fast asleep.
• Sleepwalking, wandering around in a trance, unaware of your surroundings -- or perhaps your sleeping mind is following someone else's commands...
• Memory gaps and not knowing what happened while you were sleeping.
whump poll #50 — collapsing (location) 🧎➡️😈
into caretaker’s arms
into whumper’s arms
into bed
in the middle of nowhere
the second they cross into safety
feet from safety / the exit. they almost made it.
Wedding dresses are so poignantly beautiful, yet they're used so rarely in stories. I want a blushing bride who, on the day of her wedding, is forced down a tangled web of love and betrayal, all while dressed in her wedding gown. Especially a gown that reveals the shoulders--be it off shoulder, strapless, halter, etc.--all to signify her vulnerable heart. Ackkkkk, the vibes are thereeeeeee

can i tell you guys a whump memory from childhood??
In 8th grade I started flunking math. This led to a spiral where I discovered that I could just think about whump (didn't know the name at the time) all day every day with no consequences. I'm talking mentally checking out and thinking about whump scenarios for entire school days.
Multiple weeks go by like this. My mom calls me into her office to look at her computer. I'm flunking all my classes. She's pissed.
I'm somehow shocked that I'm flunking. I have no idea what to say. Can't tell her that I've been thinking about my original characters getting injured and sick. I get in trouble and have to go to tutoring. The end
“I’ve got you” really is a load-bearing piece of dialogue in comfort fics
Graceland 1x09
Stranger Things 5x05. Shock Jock
Leader is deeply unhappy with Whumpee's recently lacking performance, lecturing them thoroughly on their actions. but when it seems like Whumpee's zoning out of the conversation instead of listening, glazed expression and no eye contact, Leader reaches out and grabs them by the collar, intent on forcing them to pay attention--
--and Whumpee's legs give out from under them, now held up only by Leader's fist.
"whumpee?" they say, much softer now, wide eyed, shifting to cradle them, to lay them on the floor. "whumpee!"
BONUS: The team comes in JUST IN TIME to see Leader holding Whumpee like that.
Misunderstandings ensue.
When Whumpees take something down with them as they collapse: a table cloth, a chair, a mannequin, a sign or banner, an end table, another person...
small appreciation post for collapsing while still conscious
ok as much as i love a good faint im also a huge sucker for when a character collapses but is still conscious, maybe just dizzy or weak
stumbling or tripping on something and falling to their knees, too weak to stand up again
weak from fever or low blood sugar and failing to get out of a chair, lying on their back or side while the dizziness subsides (i actually had a fic planned for this at one point)
slumping into a chair because they cant stand anymore
reaching out to a table or wall for support and sliding to the floor (!!!)
sitting on the floor already but they slump to the side out of exhaustion
that thing where they throw their arm across their eyes out of exhaustion or dizziness (honestly one of my favorites)
there are probably a lot more im missing rn so feel free to add on!!
when character a is barely conscious and being princess carried by character b and when b goes to put them down a whimpers and fists their hand into the fabric of their shirt and b goes shhh shh shh and takes their hand in theirs while gently cradling their head oughhhhhh oughhhhh………….
No thoughts. Just Whumpee drifting in and out of consciousness, muttering nonsensical slurred protests, and weakly trying to pull st their restraints before their eyes roll back and theh slip away into unconsciousness again.
