David vs. baseball terminology
Entrapdak is still subtext, they didn't confirm it
Y’all can’t be seeing that entire arc and say they ain’t canonically in love. Season 3 and 4 already have huge evidence for it but like we can dive here too.
How about the first time we see Entrapta having a chance to see a dormant clone she immediately goes to it to check if it’s Hordak? She’s in a genelab of some kind, the tech here is amazing, and she’s immediately ignored it to check on this clone.
We learn she recovered the LUVD Crystal and has had it on her person this whole time just in case she finds Hordak and he needs it. She’s carrying it with her because she cares about him, she worries about him, she wants to help him.
She just so desperately wants it to be him, to see him again and for him to see her.
Of course this is Wrong Hordak, which leads to another very important reveal.
Entrapta has been keeping a list. We can infer she’s been watching the clones to try and determine which one is Hordak. This is an active tally in her mind, something she’s been doing. Entrapta isn’t really one to pine, she’s one to work, and this is her working in regards to Hordak.
On Hordak’s side?
Entrapta loses the crystal on Prime’s Ship, and Hordak finds it. Hordak has been reset but he sees it and immediately remembers her, at least her name. His affections for her are strong enough he instantly begins to break control.
Other times we see a solid break of control like this are on chipped people, notably Catra and Spinnerella who break Prime’s grip through their love. This continues too. Hordak continues to have scenes holding and pondering the crystal, and when Prime has him help retrieve memories from an old body we get the scene of Hordak retrieving his own memories.
Notably he takes a risk, while Prime is distracted he lets himself dive into his own mind.
And very notably gets this flashback at the end of the sequence.
Let’s zoom forward to Failsafe, back on Etheria. To their ENCOUNTER. Hordak finds her, asks her what she is doing here. Then sees her and...
He recognizes her.
Entrapta does THIS, and then...
This is a CLASSIC trope right here. Character who isn’t supposed to feel things falls in love and drops that “What have you done to me?”
Entrapta takes his hand. A gentle touch between them as they found each other again.
As Swift Wind pulls her away the last thing she does is remind him his Imperfections are Beautiful, he’s Beautiful. She knows he’s out there, he recognizes her. She knows he’ll come back to her. There’s faith there, and Entrapta normally isn’t really one for that.
And that night.
While everyone else is asleep she pulls up an image of him, just to look at it.
And then, and THEN. The real OOMF moment to it all. Entrapta is captured, Hordak is her primary guard here.
Instantly he is upset to see her upset, and when ordered to kill her later.
He breaks free. He reclaims himself to protect her, to save her. Just as she’s saved him.
He looks back at her, gentle and kind, and dare I say loving?
Entrapta confirms she simply believed in him, in his ability to overcome.
Then Prime does his space demon possession thing, and She-Ra purifies Hordak.
Like do I even need commentary for this?
This is a love arc. It’s really really blatant. They don’t kiss, they don’t say the words love but also its Entrapta and Hordak. That’s not really how they are? That’s part of the beauty of it too. They clearly, very clearly, love each other and it’s in their own way.
tl;dr did you watch the show?

so I was rewatching “The Zenith” yesterday and I accidentally came across this little tidbit. they snuck that in there. this, my friends, is exactly what they accused and executed Lotor for doing. but it’s all well and good if it’s the good guys doing it. the double standards of this show are appalling. I’m still in shock.
VOLTRON FANDOM
Is it worth continuing watching after season 5? That’s as far as I’ve gotten and I just….don’t really want to continue???
Honestly, I wouldn’t. The storyline sorta goes out the window and nothing ever gets resolved, seasons seven and eight don’t really make sense.
There are some good moments and it sorta depends on who your favorite characters are, but everyone is pretty ooc by the end anyway.
Agree. I wouldn’t. It’s a good place to stop. Lotor and Allura get together and end the war. Keith meets his mother. The only thing that isn’t really resolved is Shiro, and let’s just say he doesn’t get any decent resolution. S6 just introduces a lot of questions that are literally never answered and a lot of storylines that go nowhere. And S7-8 are just an offensive mess not worth anyone’s time.

🤦🏽♀️
Grand list of plot points dropped or not explored in VLD
Please add to this list:
Why Haggar was interested in Shiro
Shiro’s illness
Cloning- mentioned once and never really brought up again
Kosmo
Keith’s turning into a Galra once and ONLY once
How different species are biologically compatible
What the hell are the druids
How Keith could sense Blue
Haggar’s appearing and disappearing maternal instincts
Why aren’t planets round. Moons can be round. Why aren’t planets round???
Add all the gripes. All the stuff not explained.
The second colony- just everything about that
What Matt saw in Sam Holt’s cell
“Another [human]”- mentioned in the opening minutes and then not a thing since
Lance’s sword
what are the Blue Lion’s preferred Paladin traits
Voltron Coalition’s distrust of working alongside Galra
How Alfor even knew about the Sincline comet
The implied sentience of the MFE ships
Keith’s entire thing on quintessence sensing
“Allura my only child” Alfor why you gotta specify only child Like That
KEITH’S DADS’ NAME
All of the clone subplot. What happened to the clone?
Clone technology
SHIRO’S. BAYARD. FORM.
The entire lore surrounding alchemy. Literally one altean alchemist (Honerva) could crush the galra leadership/empire but the alteans were so easily crushed?
What the hell Voltron even is, even the whole ‘universe’s strongest weapon’ got dropped as of, oh, s5
Lotor, how he learnt about alchemy, and really everything about him.
Lance’s insecurities/home sicknesses
Found family plot
Shiro’s life before being a paladin, and his time as a champion.
The Holt family, why they were involved and Sam’s odd ‘ability’ to circumvent even top brass’ decisions
How/why Sendak knew so much about Shiro.
What happened to Narti
hoo boy. *cracks knuckles*
Shiro. did he hatch from a fucking egg. WHERE ARE HIS PARENTS.
Allura’s quintessence being connected to all the Lions. whatever happened to that
Alfor’s “if all goes well, we’ll see each other again soon” line - did that? ever pan out? or…?
why did the Lions not pick their endgame Paladins back in the pilot if that’s where they were supposed to end up. if Keith’s a better Black paladin than Shiro and Black “believed in him before he believed in himself” why didn’t Black just choose him in the first place
the Lion Switch still makes no fucking sense. where did the hierarchy of Lions come from. how would that even make sense. the OG Paladins were all rulers and leaders how did they get arranged into first-second-third
seriously though what the fucketh happens if the Red Paladin with the fiery temper who relies on instinct isn’t the trusted right hand of the Black Paladin. like this is a mess. it’s a fucking mess my dudes
Allura going from Mystical Princess whose life force is connected to All The Lions to Naive Teenage Girl who can’t fly in a straight line. seriously why. like why
for that matter why did they all struggle so much in early S3 if those were their ~destined~ true Lions like lmao okay just. *rubs temples* *screams into pillow*
the Blade of Marmora. were they just. chilling for 10k years doing jack shit. how did they form? who set that thing up? what did they have spies in central command for? what did the spies do??
seriously those dudes were all like “we just hang out in secret hating the Empire we cannot possibly do anything” like OKAY SO LIKE. WHAT IS YOUR M.O. WHAT DO YOU DO. WHO FORMED YOU. WHO’S IN CHARGE. CAN I SPEAK TO THE FUCKING MANAGER
how did spending 2 years on a space whale qualify Keith for leadership but a lifetime of learning and training was inadequate for Allura to be the one taking charge
what even the fuck was with Shiro’s illness. did he ever tell anyone about it. did it go away.
why did the Black Lion suddenly forget all about Shiro in S7. where did the bond go. i don’t fux with bullshit interviews EXPLAIN IT IN THE FUCKING TEXT YOU COWARDS
did JDS draw that blush on Allura’s cheeks in S7 with a sharpie
bonding with the Lions. remember when that was all mystical and about connecting to the element of the Lion. what happened to that. why did Pidge get that one storyline about it and then Shiro in the astral plane but no one else ever did
why is Keith’s quintessence still red and Lance’s still blue and they’re supposed to be “mirrored in their Lions” but they’re not
who would win 10,000 year old super-powerful quintessence zombie vs. one pointy boy
are there just like. 1000s of random Shiro clones roaming the universe now. just chilling in tubes. like what.
HOW? DOES? MAGIC? WORK? you cannot fucking have a science fantasy world feel compelling and real if you can’t even be bothered to map out a functional magic system. like does Allura just get power ups whenever it’s convenient
if Allura is supposedly “the heart of Voltron” why isn’t she in the Black Lion, since that forms the torso/heart of Voltron. yes i’m still salty about Allura not being in Black I ALWAYS WILL BE
whatever the fucketh happened to Allura’s ability to supercharge Voltron
why did Allura have to die seems fake but okay
WHY THE FUCKETH. did the Galra empire offer Keith the role of Emperor. i’m pissing this is the dumbest fucking bullshit i’ve ever heard. lmao WHY. WHY THAT DUDE. FUCK.
okay i’m done i’m out THOR TAKE THE WHEEL
How the Galra went from 10,000 years of a culture steeped in domination and conquest to peaceful allies on a dime.
For that matter, how was Lotor’s plan to provide infinite quintessence and make the Galra peaceful by taking away the supposed material need for conquest going to address the cultural aspect? As badly as Lotor’s plan went, I don’t believe he’s stupid enough or naive enough to overlook that part.
Keith and Krolia spent a lot of time with Romelle (the exact timeline was not super clear to me) and yet once they rejoin the other paladins, they don’t speak to each other and have no relationship whatsoever.
Shiro’s relationships with any other lead characters in s7 and s8.
Why Zarkon was giving out 10,000+ year lifespans to random lieutenants.
Keith said the carvings all spoke of “some event” happening - and that event happened to be Shiro’s return to Earth, which makes it sound like there was a prophecy of some sort????
Why are they called Paladins? That usually carries a very specific connotation…
Coran uses the term “Sacred Altean” to refer to Allura and Alfor. …but there’s no follow up on that.
What determines who’s “worthy” to enter Oriande? I mean, I know it’s the Guardian, but what is the Guardian looking for? Why is Lotor worthy when, presumably, Haggar/Honerva wasn’t (seeing as how she apparently disabled and ensnared the Guardian)?
How come Honerva used those dark rift beasties to “enslave” all the other Alteans but apparently not her second-in-command (who later whips around and attacks her when she realizes they’ve been duped)?
the opening shows Allura highlighting an entire field of enemy ships and Coran pushing a button - the Castle does a light show and everything blows up. WHY DID WE NEVER GET TO SEE THAT?!
Allura says the Arusians are the first race in “the Voltron Alliance” - a term we never hear used again. I assume the Alliance are like “yay Voltron” and the Coalition are more like “We will FIGHT with Voltron”? But…?
At the end of s1, Red sprouts a huge-ass cannon on its back because Keith yelled a lot. We finally did get to see it again in season 8, but… where the hell was it all the rest of the time?
Like… how tf do genetics work in Voltron? How does Galra chick + Human dude = Keith who looks entirely human but Galra dude + Altean chick = a purple Altean (Lotor)? (And meanwhile Allura looks like a freaking clone of her mom.)
How it’s possible for random mechs to just smoosh together and make a new mech all of a sudden? I’m not talking about the Lions forming Voltron; I’m talking Voltron + Atlas and Sincline mech + Honerva’s mech.
Balmeras can teleport apparently? wtf?
How did Lotor’s generals find Sendak? He was dumped into a random part of space. Is there a tracker in his arm? What’s the range on that thing?
Sam and the Garrison apparently built the Atlas to shapeshift? Like…?
They go into Honerva’s mind… but it’s apparently the Lion Spaces? How? What? Also, how did Honerva trap Alfor’s soul when, as far as we’ve seen, Zarkon faced Alfor alone in single combat and killed him?
Everyone warning Allura that BONDING WITH THE RIFT BEASTIE IS A BAD IDEA NO REALLY SUPER BAD IDEA…. and then it just isn’t? I guess we just decided to lecture her for no reason?
This is what happens when willing suspension of disbelief breaks down. So many of these issues in a better written show would be quibbles. Magic for example. How does it work? Well…it just does. Magic by definition breaks the ruler of the universe. Internally consistent it may be, but explained in minutiae it does not need to be… But that only works when you enjoy the world and willingly suspend your disbelief. When the show goes wrong? The logic breaks down? Mysteries teased go unanswered…? We stop caring. And all those little flaws we once forgave come burning into view…
This is pretty much the entire point I was imagining when I made this post.
I can forgive a HELL of a lot of Star Wars because the story was good. Same with pretty much any other franchise. But there was so much wrong with the story of VLD, we just couldn’t ignore the bad stuff. It’s like how you can ignore an injury when you’re playing a sport. Once you stop playing, being engaged because the story falls apart, all of these little aches and pains become overwhelming.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS ALLURA’S MOM’S NAME!?, Why does Allura never speak about her? What happened to her and why isn’t she in the afterlife with Alfor and the old Paladins???! Matter of fact why are they even there? Did they even show Allura having a strong connection with the older paladins? Her dad’s old friends are there but not her fucking MOM!?
My biggest pet peeve missing plot holes:
Why did Lotor send his generals to the Ulippa System to steal the giant teludav lens (apparently from Haggar). What was he using it for?
Why was Axca collecting scaultrite inside the weblum? What was Lotor going to use THAT for??
What was the “pure strain” of quintessence (aka: the Altean body harvesting quintessence) being used for?
How did the aforementioned quintessence create Ranveig’s creature?
What was really going on with the second Altean colony?
How was Bandor able to escape? How was he even able to pilot a pod?
How the hell did Romelle even know what Lotor’s fighter ships looked like?
We know Lotor has been through the Quantum Abyss so he MUST have had visions of the past and future. Did that affect his decision making going forward at all?
The role the Rift Creatures played in corrupting/manipulating resurrected Zarkon and Honerva (and possibly Lotor) is NEVER discussed.
Also they mention that newborn Lotor has the same “energy signature” as evil Zarkon and Haggar (implied to be the Rift beings), but this is never explained further and literally never mentioned again.
The paladins never acknowledge that they royally fucked up the universe by killing Lotor. Like, they fucked up SO BAD, it’s astounding.
Also never acknowledge how Alfor’s decision to sacrifice Altea for “the good” of the universe is, in essence, the same exact decision Lotor had to make with the Altean Colony (albeit, on a much smaller scale).
Fuck this show is a mess.
The colony. Everything about it.
Is Romelle’s only point to get Lotor out of the way so A//urance can happen?
Who was Lotor’s “secret team”?
Why was Lotor, who hated and didn’t trust the Galra, working with Galra medical officers on the colony?
How could Bandor fly a ship when Romelle literally said they could not.
Rift creatures
How can Keith and Lotor never once have a conversation?
Why did the paladins ignore the fact that all of them would be death repeatedly without Lotor?
When did Allura go from being upset Lance liked her and then kissing Lotor even while knowing that, to realizing that Lance was the one she loved? Since I sure didn’t see it on screen.
How did quintessence aka something gives life kill anyone, let alone a quintessence zombie?
the second colony “plot”
Romelle: I don’t know the whole story
Lotor: You don’t even know the whole story!
Me: What’s the whole story??
VLD Season 8: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The whole story is: Lance needed the girl he wanted for reasons and Lotor made Allura too happy so he had to go.
Pasted-in stock photo Lotor doesn’t cast a shadow!
They literally just grabbed his stock photo and warped one leg a bit. Lazy. Check it big, that’s Zarkon’s shadow, not Lotor’s.
THE PLOT THICKENS
SUSPICIOUS AF. AGAIN.
The position of his feet is just not right. Also, yes, the shadow is clearly Zarkon’s.
mess. can’t believe they really used his stock photo
Chasing the Ghosts of Season 8
Let’s skip the flowery intros and get to the point, because this is important.
Lotor’s vindication and reunion with Allura were originally part of VLD s8 and I can prove it. Most animation relating to this plot was excised, while other clips were re-purposed to make it look like he was dead all along: but some are still in there.
The removal of this plot line was one of the major factors in completely messing up season 8, and it was a change that was made very recently; no earlier than August in fact. There is a significant, non-zero chance that an unedited version of Season 8 exists in its entirety; completely finished.
The evidence is below the cut.
Trigger Warnings: Gore - that image and discussion of it, body horror, sexism, and major character death.
I don’t care what you ship or don’t ship, this makes so much sense. There is so much from S8 that was obviously cut and pasted together to get what we got. Every character suffered from these changes, but some more than others. It’s even more obvious if you go and look back at S6. Lotor’s one line to Honerva was that he might spare her when the time comes, but that time literally never comes and you never hear him speak again in the present time.
There is also proof of changes in the epilogue, so we do know this type of thing happens. Shiro’s husband in the netflix version is actually a wedding guest from the leaks. And Ezor was also obviously added in last minute. The proof is all there.
the only good thing to come out of s8 is that now everyone is an unapologetic lotor stan
Always loved my boy and I’m not even bitter that people are now just suddenly supporting him. Wish they would have been kinder along the way, but unlike the paladins I know the cycle of hate and anger needs to end. So I’m glad for all the new found Lotor fans.
