You know, I realiced that even though Shadow milk is surrounded by characters that are mainly healers he chooses not want to heal, I know that the first milk thing is an assumption, there is nothing written in stone yet but it seems curious to me that he is always surrounded by healers but his pride or something inside him does not allow him to choose to heal himself.

i mean thats part of the dichotomy between shadow milk and pure vanilla, shadow milk destroys everything including himself while pure vanilla devotes himself to nurturing/healing all forms of life

it makes me wonder, if first milk being founts creator is true then did he ever try to be a healer as well? thatd provide another interesting parallel for fount and pv

Yeah no okay so really WHAT was up with Salt of Solidarity not mentioning Fount or his territory at all? Because holy shit

Salt that now makes two Emissaries being targeted for what may as well be MURDER PLOTS that you apparently have no idea about.

Flour's attack was a matter of thinking things were hidden in the cocoon and charging after either an Emissary's most precious possession if they didn't know she was in there or a truly peaceful, immobile Emissary if they did, and the guy Salt didn't mention was straight up being targeted with a violent vengeance siege that seemed to encompass a large if not majority portion of his followers. Regardless of the motive, Mr. Solidarity apparently doesn't know about all this.

I get putting up a mystery but good lord. NONE of the Kala Namak soldiers were able to catch wind that two Emissaries were being violently raided by their people? Especially considering what caused Salt's own corruption, that is an already horrific track record getting even worse.

Even if Salt eventually found out the attack on Fount was due to him corrupting, surely you'd want to ask him what was happening when the Soul Jams went silent? And if you have enough respect for him to think that the inquiry would be a mundane question, would you then not be able to notice that he was going stir-crazy and something would be wrong? But of course, Salt sees his fellows strictly as their Virtue, and so he would know Fount is "made" to constantly answer queries.

There could be something I'm missing here but this just keeps getting worse. I really hope the story mentions it because just... goodness! What a mess, did they have constant communication with the Soul Jams or did they not? Even if you don't hear from the Emissary themselves, how can you not catch wind that it's at least in part because their people tried to tear them to shreds?!

This is either going to be a REALLY good call-out in the story or a very confusing hiccup depending on how they portray Sisalt's diligence.

God I want to talk about how the Soul Jam was in the staff, like an object that is wielded by someone, to be used. Symbolism for how the Virtues were treated: severely dehumanised and used by Cookiekind. And then he rips it out of the staff and puts it on himself, as a means to humanise himself. As a means to claim urgency for himself. It's also very telling how both Shadow Milk and Silent Salt coined the term Beast. Silent Salt used it to dehumanise them, calling them savages, corrupted fiends. Shadow Milk claimed the term Beast, revelling in the thought of being referred to as demons, delighting in their reputation as such because he has been deprived of the urgency that he has needed for so long as Fount of Knowledge. just hhhh thoughts...
