The best thing about Nico Robin is that objectively she has a very fucked up and scary Devil Fruit. Its perfect for spionage cause she can summon eyes to look through, she can summon hands on other people to break their neck

And she WAS using it like that for a long time. She’s genuinely scary, she probably had the highest body count on the crew. But you can see the more time she spend with Straw Hands the more her new techniques transform from “stealth needed to survive” into “big scary attack to wreck massive damage because i need to protect my found family and i trust them to protect me and i dont need to hide”

Like. I honestly cant. The fact that she’s casually using it to pat someone in the crew on the head is just so adorable and so healing to me. She’s free to do whatever she wants. She’s spent years in hiding and now she can proudly say what her name is and who she is. Do you ever think about how Robin turned from scary creepy assassin goth girl into the most relaxed chill girl to ever exist. She’s free to read and enjoy her books because she’s safe. Do you ever think just how important to her that trust and peace is—

I genuinely believe if Usopp said “you’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice?” at dinner, Sanji would be the one laughing the loudest. You think he’s ever heard that joke before? Absolutely not. He’s been hearing bawdy sailor jokes from the guys at the Baratie but he’s never heard a simple word play joke. He makes shrimp fried rice again a week later and laughs just as hard when Luffy says it.
