Hatchling Poses and Eternal Youth
Requested by @fairyoctopus
So, hatchlings. Everyone's seen them, everyone knows them. Every breed has one hatchling pose. But, did you know there were almost two for every breed? That's right, in several early pieces of art posted to Undel's DeviantArt, you can see two hatchling poses!
These extra poses appear in art of faes, guardians, ridgebacks and mirrors

As far as I'm aware, no reason has given as to why gendered hatchling poses were removed. If you're wondering if it has to do with the fact that scrolls of Eternal Youth were a later addition, but as far as I'm aware, they were on the site upon release. Speaking of Eternal Youth Scrolls
Scrolls of Eternal Youth and Permababies
Dragons are turned into hatchlings with the application of a Scroll of Eternal Youth. The only way to reverse the effects of a Scroll of Eternal Youth is with a scroll of maturity.
On release, the scrolls of Eternal Youth and Maturity looked like this

Now, for some former limitations/quirks of eternally youthful dragons/permababies
Eternally youthful dragons originally couldn't be exalted. This was changed on December 4th, 2015. As of writing, there are currently 3,594 exalted eternally youthful dragons.
Eternally youthful dragons also couldn't be sold. This appears to have been changed with the Auction House revamp on March 17th, 2017.
Eternally youthful dragons (and normal hatchlings by extension) couldn't be used as account avatars until July 18th, 2018.
Eternally youthful dragons couldn't equip skins until May 30th, 2024. As of writing, there is no way on-site to preview hatchlings skins on hatchling scries.
Current quirks/limitations
A Scroll of Eternal Youth can reversed with a Scroll of Maturity.
Eternally youthful dragons cannot breed, fight in the coliseum or wear apparel.
Eternally youthful dragons are the same size as when they first hatched.
Depending on where you look onsite, the symbol for eternal youth differs. On the Auction House and Dragon Search, the symbol for eternal youth appears as a grey cracked egg, while on the dragon lair and dragon profile pages, it appears as a pink cracked egg with a faint glow, similar in coloration to boon of fertility. They also both have different tooltip text, with the grey version stating "This dragon is eternally youthful." and the pink version stating "This dragon is benefiting from the effects of eternal youth." It's unclear as to why both versions of the eternal youth icon exist simultaneously on the site at this time.

The scroll of maturity can also be used to age up non-eternally youthful hatchlings, but it will not remove their breeding cooldown.
