I am going to make a maormer OC if I have to hold a microscope to all of the Elder Scrolls series and find every scrap of information about them that I can.

Pretty much all the lore I can find is that they were Aldmer once, but were shunned/forcibly removed from Aldmeris. They formed their own nation on the islands of Pyandonea, and for some reason all became pirates? Also, they have blank white eyes, and colorless/translucent skin that changes color with their surroundings, like an octopus. Oh, and their leader is a god, maybe?

ESO gives us some view of their armor, weapons and culture, but it is still pretty much “Water elves wear metal scales and sea creature motifs. They have an immortal leader. They hate the Altmer and want Summerset for themselves.”

Personally, I think the whole idea is pretty flat and one-note. Like, there could be such a rich, Polynesian style culture here; living on and in the ocean, travelling among islands. Which, with what meager descriptions there are, Pyandonea sounds like a lush and tropical island chain. Perfect setting imo.

Plus, they were separated in the Merethic age- long before Summerset was even founded, so why the hell do they want it now? Just because the Altmer have it? 

IDK. I wish there was more on them. I guess we just have to write our own lore on them for now.

Oh, I did see it! Sorry, my router burned out yesterday and I kind of forgot to respond. But thanks for the info:)) I’m still piecing together more bits of lore. I haven’t played enough ESO to see much of them, but I’ve found some videos of quests involving them and I took a bunch of screenshots of different lore stuff so I could kind of piece it all together and try to get a better idea of maormer culture.

I wish they’d make a Maormer themed dlc soon… Or, if the next Chapter is based on Summerset Isles (my hopes are not too high but it is possible, right!) we might get a bunch of Maormer lore and, more importantly, Maormer themed furniture! I’m fairly certain we only have two Maormer items right now, and the banner and the sea snake post aren’t quite enough for me…
