Made this while the power was out the other day too. Well, I just did the background today. The character herself I drew with my finger. This brought to you by "What if a person was a terrarium" and then the terrarium part didnt turn out the way I wanted and I had to find other ways to make her design interesting than just plants I had stopped wanting to draw lol.
Hehe as promised. Mia doesn't like SCP-106 at ALL.
The audio is just what I believe is a generic SCP siren noise + an audio clip from Mrs. Doubtfire. I also came to find out that the video editing material that I used to use to make animatics now has AI tools 🙄 instead of leaving it how they used to be. I do not THINK I used said tools, I went ahead and used the programs as I used too, because they're the only ones I know of that have worked for me. If anyone has any recommendations for free video/recording software that could be better let me know. I don't want to hold risk of using AI software.
I should probably clarify that in my about where it says my blog is family friendly what I mean is that I will not use swears in my work (however some of those words can be used in their literal meaning depending on the word), and I will not draw/post pornographic content. My art will sometimes have dark themes though with intent to teach through storytelling however. I just keep not updating my about for that bc I forget when Im on my laptop and idk how to on my phone.
Dr. Lockswood had become a.... difficult case, for the foundation.
Their primary objective was to keep her happy. If she was happy, she was compliant. If she was compliant... she posed less risk. More than that she was less likely to change her contract to their disadvantage....again. Plus they really had no idea how far her command could reach in regards to the Keter class anomalies. And they very much preferred to keep the Keter class anomalies under THEIR control, or- well, as under their control as possible. They were lucky she was so docile. Or maybe she was just tired. It was hard to tell, with the state of her health.
What they did know though, is that she was aligned with the foundation. And proved to be one of their biggest assets. Because of that they couldnt risk losing her- but they also couldn't afford not to utilize her. She was impervious to harm from the anomalous. She could control the dangerous SCPs with just her voice. Sure, there were limitations, but she was the thing now that stood between them and catastrophic containment breaches. She was key to containment, retrieval, and certain tests that had otherwise been impossible. It was imperfect... but still it worked.
"SCP 093702-" A researcher said to her. The man was a freaking coworker.
"Try again." Mia said abruptly.
The man sighed, "Dr. Lockswood-"
"Better"
Another sigh.
"I just came to give you your briefing on the test."
"Fantastic, Im not stopping you." Mia was having a harness attached to her body by two other junior researchers.
The man stared at her, and shook his head before continuing, "You are to enter SCP-3008. Once youre in there, you are to begin exploration. We are looking to see how its behavior changes with you inside."
Mia didnt respond with more than a grunt. She already knew the drill. She'd requested the testing herself. This was all just formality.
Once at the doors to the Ikea, she stepped over the threshhold. It looked every bit like a normal Ikea store. She allowed herself a moment to explore and stole a pack of candy from one of the shelves, and snacked on it as she explored. It took a while with nothing really happening for her to finally run into one of the workers.
This one was a little short, and stout. At least, for what it was. But its arms were abnormally long.
"Dr. Lockswood. Do not engage the entity." The voice came over her com.
As she approached it, it did nothing. It just kept walking.
"Hey," she called out to it, "Stop walking."
It stopped. It didnt even put up a fight, it just immediately obeyed.
"Im gonna call you Emmet. Okay?" It didnt respond.
"Emmet. Jump on one foot."
It did.
"Emmet, sit in that chair." She pointed. It sat.
"Emmet...sing Yankee Doodle."
The creature stopped. It did nothing for a moment before it started moving its head as if it were singing, and patting its hands on its thighs to a rythm. Since it didnt have a mouth, it did its best to listen to her in the best way it could.
"Thank you Emmet, youre free to go now. Youve done splendid."
"Dr. Lockswood," the voice came over the com again.
"You sound unhappy with me," Mia said.
"I told you not to engage the entity. What if it had been the exception?"
"Oh give me a break," Mia scoffed, "Im not a D-class, you know what right?"
"Its my job to ensure your safety during testing."
"Your job is to record what happens, I assure you, I am fine." Mia shook her head, "Besides now we know i hold control over the ikea men even when theyre docile. Isnt that an interesting discovery?"
"Mia, please, focus. You may not even be able to leave the SCP, you need to take this more seriously."
"I am fully capable of leaving."
"Then prove it." The man challeneged. Her eyes nearly rolled back in her head, they rolledso hard.
"Fine. If youre that desperate to end testing early, then I will." She started back, following the length of rope attached to her harness.
What if i really did not feel like doing more than sketches (i still feel unwell despite feeling better than yesteday) and just kinda threw together what I envisioned ribbit looking like as a human.
I didnt get it precisely how i wanted too btw, it needed some more sketches, i just became done at this point and am unlikely to revisit it. I also think shed have some punky vibes and get into mischeif, just not in this outfit. Lol. Picture she has leggings under the shorts.
I didnt have you for long before you ended. But it was fun while it lasted.
I just wanted to draw something with the finale being out now. I've only been going here for what, a month or so? I'd have loved to have included Kinger and Caine or done a more concrete kind of drawing, but it was taking longer than I anticipated and I didnt have anything prepped.
I hope everyone enjoyed the finale as much as I did.

Meet the artist! This IS just my persona, this has actually existed for a while but I made it long before my persona existed (hence why I never posted it) so I just had to do some edits but the background is pretty much unchanged (i made this...Oh maybe idk a few years ago).

As stated on my insta post, April is supposed to always have the little curlies by her ears I just tend to forget them. And I have Splinter, April Harriet (grandma April), and April Mae's character sheets all done but Im not posting till Irma and Venus's are also done.
Im thinking April's little hair tuft will go more into a heart shape when Donnie's being sweet since she's got some troubles with emotions. That could help show what shes feeling without breaking her character to much. (She does feel & show emotion bc she's human she's just got some monotone/alexithymia stuff going on)

I am genuinely so freaking proud of this. Its bloodier and more violent than my usual posts but still Im just so impressed with myself. It looks amazing Im so happy with it, Im obsessed.
I dont have the full timelapse because for the first half, I accidentally exited out of Clip without exporting the beginning sketches, and at the very end when I was done recording I went back in to add in a couple more minor details like leos claws and fix some shading. But I think you get the general gist from this.
The story idea I have behind this, should this drawing become canon, is that this is actually from the darker timeline where Leo allowed his heart to progressively become harder and harder, and caused the apocalypse as a result. Light Timeline Leo would get a glimpse of this alternate reality during a time in later seasons when he was severely questioning all his choices as a leader- especially if he chose not to kill The Shredder- worrying that his softness and mercy was the direct result of all the messed up out of hand craziness happening all around him. That maybe he needs to be harder. And seeing into this timeline, the only difference between him and this other Leonardo is that he fought tooth and nail to remain soft despite the trials, to continue to choose love, compassion, mercy, and second chances (and third chances....and fourth chances even). Basically telling him "If kindness and mercy are options, they are the only options" because his world isnt apocalyptic as a direct result of his soft heart.
I was waiting to post this until I actually finished but screw it Ive been working on this for about six hours?? And Im excited for it so here it is about 1/3rd of the way done

I've animated before just not with actual animation software because it was always a pain to figure out. It's still a pain to figure out. It just doesn't want to cooperate with me at all. But I'll get there.
