I know you see it as this thing that holds you back, but it… it's not. It's the thing that ties us all together. So that no one person has to carry the weight alone.
getting used to it
rated G.
“I’m Ian, pleasure to meet you.” Eddie huffs a little laugh, seeming delighted. “Yeah, you were amazing, man. Saved that kid’s life. I’m a little surprised you remember me. There was a lot going on back there.” Their hands are still mid-shake. Well, if ever an opportunity to flirt were to present itself, this is it. Ian smirks, turning up the charm. Instead of dropping Eddie’s hand, he loosens the pressure and just holds it gently. “Yeah, well, I tend to take notice when someone is noticing me,” he winks. Or: Nurse Ian Bradley runs into a familiar face at his favorite coffee shop. A conversation (and some flirting) ensues.

No but...
It's true! Eddie started out sitting down in that slowmo/sped up sequence so the audience could track him throughout that scene. The others were blurry and unrecognisable, but Eddie was 'right there', very recognisable, because we had seen him sitting down in the beginning and we knew what he was wearing. It's so interesting how they directed/filmed that and 'why' they decided to direct/film it like that. They wanted us to see that Eddie is Buck's 'person' now.
Eddie is always there, never out of frame, steady at Buck's side, in silent support of 'his person'.
It is a thing of beauty.
